They both had a three day germination period. This is the first time I’ve ordered seeds online. I was so impressed with the service that I received. The seeds germinated in a plastic container with paper towels in it, three days later I have seedlings. The Northern Lights are not as big as the Cookies at this stage but it still looks pretty good; I’m going to keep an eye on it since it’s still in the fragile stage of development.
This week they came out of the nursery and started to absorb light from their leaves instead of water. Growth is slower with the Northern Lights vs. the Cookies Gelato. “Cookie” is a monster so I will name it “Cookie Monster”, and The Northern Lights is called “Noel” because she will be ready around Christmas… When I was young we used to get “Christmas Buds” around the second half of December, which was Original Northern Lights. It’s a childhood dream of mine to grow Northern Lights, so I’m so excited for her to grow up big and strong.😛

This week is week three and growth has begun to pick up on both plants. They are growing branches, which is the first node beginning to form. I lowered the light to the 8” inches off of Cookie Monster, since she is the tallest at this point. Noel is growing her first node too even though she is much smaller than Cookie Monster. Right now Cookie Monster is 2” inches tall and Noel is inch and a half tall. This week they both are starting Perfect Grow nutrition and The Coffee spread. Next week I will add boost to the grow nutrient and continue the coffee spread.

Welcome back to Colorado Gnome Grown. This week the gnome’s have been busy with the irrigation system. The water is stored in a 5g container and I mix the feed in it and it gets feed every time I water, which is twice a day for 1 minute, or until the plants drip. The plants are setting on a rack so that the water can drain away from the plant and into a tray. The plan is to buy Big Buds the first of the month to keep on hand to finish up in 4 weeks. Cookie Monster is 4in today and Noel is 2in, and both are starting to grow their bud site. Next week I will Top and defoliate for the first time. Well that’s all this time, tune next week for more information on; Colorado Gnome Grown!!!😎

This week the Gnome’s have been working on Defoliating and Topping of both of the plants. This is going to start the development process that will take them into adulthood. This will help the air to move through the plants more efficiently and start the “Martini Glass” shape that we all love, instead of the single cola look. Next week we will be “lollipoping” the plants to help air flow and to transfer energy to the canapé. The biggest thing to happen at the garden is that we are “Triggering Flowering” this week and watering has started to double in frequency.

This week we started to train our branches and setup our drip system. On Friday morning we found mushrooms in the soil of both plants. Started the ventilation system and kept it running all day and night from now on until harvest. I gave the Gnomes names as well this week. Enjoy the video.

This week the training ended and ok just defoliating and loillipoping. We are watching the maturity level move up the plants. Today it is about the third node, I will trigger the flowering process when it reaches the 5th or 6th nodes.

Welcome back to Colorado Gnome Grown. This was the last week of Veg. Saturday is day one of Flower Cycle. The Gnome’s did a heavy defoliation this week to make ready for the upcoming Flowering Cycle. The week went well, they started to show signs of maturity and is a great time to start the new cycle. Friday night we dropped the temperature of the room to start cold shock, this tells the plants that it’s time for flower. I’m also going to try “Drought Shock Treatment starting Sunday morning, both the cold and drought conditions are what it’s like in my region around early September. Thank you for visiting see you next week when we will describe the first week of flowering and the drought conditions.
