Today marks the beginning of my Hella Jelly pheno test run indoors. I've selected 7 out of 9 of the plants to re-test indoors from the outdoor mini pheno hunt. Unfortunately, I didn't post that grow! Life got hectic. Clones were taken 7 weeks ago and have been vegged for five weeks, the plants will be going into flower cycle tomorrow so we can figure out which ones are the true keepers. Some of the plants are a little behind, but we have taken more clones and we want to see what we are working with now before some are to big. A few of the Pheno's showed amazing potential outdoors and I am eager to see their true capabilities under perfect environmental controls. Plants are currently fed once a day by hand. The multi drip feed system will be installed in the coming weeks. Plants are fed at 800 EC and we will slowly work our way up to 2000 over the next few weeks. Installing some UVB bulbs in the next week or two. I am using some techniques to keep the stretch minimal to encourage strong plants with dense stacked buds. I'm excited to see how these plants develop over the coming weeks and I'll update my diary weekly with progress! Happy Growing I have added some pictures of the pheno's from the outdoor grow

So far so good. The plants encountered a bit of nitrogen toxicity causing was some leaves to curl . We flushed the plants thoroughly and I am positive that issue is fixed. looking better this morning. I did some more training last night, cleaning up lower growth and taking off some side branches, and some topping on the bigger plants. The drip feed system was installed yesterday after I took pics. Initiating the flower cycle tomorrow morning 😀

Today marks day 22 since we flipped to 12/12 and about 2 weeks into true flower. Struggling to install the reptile UV bulbs optimally but we should have them in this next week. Did another defoliation and thinning out of side branches. Otherwise things are looking good. Check you next week ;)

Dam we got some frosty ladies developing here! Crazy sweet, jelly berry candy aromas busting out the tent. Had to lower the one light because of issue with power setting. The canopy is a bit of mess, but its expected when growing 7 different phenos. The plants also couldve gone into flower about week earlier. We just installed UVB bulbs for the last weeks, cannot wait to see what that does! Happy days, check yall next week.

UVB is 280nm - 315nm. UVR8 universal resistance locus 8. 95% of stress response from uvr8 protein happens at a peak of 285nm. The response at 285 is 10x that of 290nm. The curve is extreme. Anyone that says UV doesn't increase thc are both right and wrong, well technically it doesn't directly increase but it does dramatically increases the concentration of trichomes in order to better "sunscreen" itself from exposure. It's important to find out the peak NM emitting from the bulbs otherwise no point in using peak 310nm. UV doesn't use a photoreceptors like other colors of light. It uses a salt bridge dimer for detection, and requires very little exposure to burn the salt bridges and activate uvr8. 3x24w I'd go with 2 hours to start, really should be done from start of flower. Fluorescent bulbs are coated inside with ...... Some shit I forget, each time you turn it on it burns out a little. Some treatments advise multiple on offs per daylight but this will destroy your bulbs ultra fast. The way UV is measured is in dosage over time, I imagine you could possibly overdose given your mid flower Be sure to supplement blue light or add a little veg spectrum, blue light is used to drove a DNA repair mechanism called photoreactivation. Applying UV with no blue is a death sentence. The 285nm photon breaks the salt bridge dimer, damaging DNA helix. Using blue light the plant converts blue and violet light to create enzymes called photolyase. These accelerate DNA repair allowing the plant to repair 100% of helix damage. DNA itself may be a photoreceptor, the UV needs to "burn" in order to gain access. UV light is responsible for control of hy5 (elongated hypocotyl 5) this is more or less the central hub network for everything else, The firmware. Welcome to the wonder of Ultraviolet.

We had some problems with the light we were using and re-installed the Spyder. Long story. The plants are looking good, frosty, stinky, bud size could be bigger but they are dense. We found out that one of the lights is only operating at about 40% capacity, which held back the one side of the tent. Things are looking better with the new light. Hard to say if the UVB is making difference as these are all new strains, but we hope for the best 😁 Some Pheno's are really starting to show off. Honestly most are looking good and its going to be hard to choose keepers. May need another run.. Some plants are on their way to being ripe and ready for piking so I am sure we will start harvesting some in the next week or so. Check yeah next week 👊

We have been introducing some nice cold temps at night, which is bringing out some autumns colors and extra frosty buds. Will continue to get temps as low as possible when lights off. We will give the plants about 36 hours of darkness before harvesting on Sunday. I will take photos of all the individual pheno's as we harvest :)

All plants are down! I am stoked with how the grow went and this strain has performed well. Terps are out of this world - candy - jelly babies, sour worms, Fanta grape and bubblegum stinking up the room. Some pheno's are more forsty then others but it seems we have found a couple keepers to re-test. Next post will be nug shots, weight once all dry. We will also do full cannabinoid testing to determine the potency of some of the phenos which we think are worth testing. Look out for that! It will be the final entry on this log :) Happy growing fam

I didnt get as much photo's as promised but things have been hectic on all fronts, but I will do better next time ;) Its a pitty we had some issues and not all phenos where in a position to show the true potentail. There for we are running the 5 with re-running outdoors this season. Along with some new beans :D
