After two weeks of blazing fast growth the Gorilla Cookies is now taking time to develop some side branches. At first I was worried the plant was over stretching, but a friend who grows the same strain in a DWC had the same experience. And seeing what monster she can become eventually she needs long and strong branches to support the weight of the buds. So all is well, the leaves look really healthy and green.
This week the Gorilla Cookies has grown taller and stronger. There are even early signs of blooming, tiny hairs showing in the nodes.
@Zengrower se ve espectacular!
@nonick123, haha yeah it says 10 weeks from seed to harvest on the website, but all diaries here have harvest after week 11/12. I'm very glad you gave me the heads up bro!
@nonick123, Thanks for the heads up bro! After closer inspection of the trichromes there were more transparent than I thought. I'm definitely waiting a while before harvest.
@nonick123, Good idea! The other benefit is that it's easy to pull a black plastic sheet over the greenhouse in case you need to speed up the blooming for feminized plants.
@nonick123, it's a bit of both actually. The greenhouse itself is prefab (still a pain to piece together though), and the foundation is self made. Last year I grew a few feminized plants in the greenhouse that got really big. This gave me the idea to place the greenhouse on concrete bands which raises the construction 35cm and also makes it more sturdy and storm-proof.
Gracias por el comentario amigo @Zengrower ! 😬
Me alegro de que hayas tenido una estupenda cosecha! 😀
750 gramos en húmedo es una pasada! 😍
El año que viene voy a poner un par de estas y dejarlas crecer sin LST ni nada! 💪
@Zengrower, gracias a ti!
Me ha encantado seguirte y ver todo lo que has conseguido!
Espero ese peso en seco y la review de humo cuando estén bien curadas! 😬
@nonick123, Hey @nonick123 thank bro 🙏 I managed to extract 25 grams of Bubble Hash rosin in the end, the rest of the buds are almost dry so I'll post the dry weight of these tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing your ladies in the outdoors next year, they will be monsters for sure 😎
Enjoy your harvest dude 😉👌❤️ question, what do you use for extracting live resin? I tried it ones but my freezer ain't big enough to winterize my live resin so I only do "normal" BHO/DME at the moment ,I open blast by the way.
@yan402, thanks Yan ✌️🌿☘️ I first cut my buds to max golfball size portions and put them into seal bags of the size that I used like in the pics above. I can fit about 250gr of buds in a single bag. After that I carefully suck the remaining air out of the bag before sealing it. This way, you can fit about 3 to 4 bags in a drawer of a freezer. I do have the advantage of owning two fridges so there's always space for max 4 bags. After freezing it for 2 to 3 days I extract the resin using icewater and Ice-o-lator bags. Before, I used the Bubbleator/washing machine, but last time I found that manually stirring the ice water and buds resulted in a much bigger yield. After that, mould into a block and freeze the bubblehash, scrape it above cardboard and let it dry (Freeze dry is better, but these devices are insanely expensive). And finally press in a rosin press.
I do have to say, it's always a painful moment to chuck 400 grams of my lovingly grown buds into icewater and stirring them with a stick, only to yield 20 or 30 grams of bubblehash. Losing even more weight once it's pressed into rosin. But boy is it worth it once you taste the result.
Heyy,
Thanks a bunch for growing our genetics, and sharing this diary with us!
We hope that it was a nice experience
Have a good one, and happy harvest :)
