After having lost 80% of my first grow:
Here we go again.
Since the my first grow was purely for experience, I gained a lot.
Still cried a bit, after throwing away most of it.
Special thanks go out to users like Hashy, creepy Steve, giantnugs and m0use who helped me through with my first run.
Also Special Thanks go out to users who commented on my first grow, admiring my little lovely plants!
I have a lot of confidence in myself now, thanks to you guys.
Time to show y'all how it's done 😉

plants are looking nice
no watering
23.05
plants have taken the adjustment of ppfd really well, they like it and strive even more.
watered 1 L per pot.
Raised lights and power to 75%
Raised PFFD to 425-460 ish
DLI @ 39-39.8
No watering
Supercropped top branch plant #3
Adjusted LST with plant #1 and #2
#1 shows first few pistils
Enter preflowering.
Have given them 2 Litres of water with calmag 2 days ago.
Plants came back to life and striving again.
Accidentally topped plant #3 which already had funky pheno.
Adjusted LST on all plants, going to give first nute feed tommorow
10.06
Gave 3ml of nutes on 1.5L for all plants
Raised lights by a bit
Plants have gone into flowering now
Gonna give them grow nutes for 1 or 2 weeks more.
15.06
Given them 3l of water on the 16th
19.06
Given them 1.5l of water with 3ml of plagron Terra and 1ml of calmag on

Welcome to flower week 2
Given them 3 litres with 4ml/l of Plagron grow and circa 0.5ml/l of calmag
Raised middle plant to height of the other two.
Plucked 6 hand fulls of dead leaves.
DLI @ 38-40
Tent at 25-27°C
Lights on: 24 hours now at 100%
I did this to test a 24 hour regime with autos, thought since they have a way shorter lifespan, I should give them all the light possible.
Also I thought it might help to mitigate the dmg from the seedling stage, where the wind has bend them very hard.
Happy growing guys!
Saw calmag issues still arising,
Gave them 1.5l of water with 2ml calmag and 6ml of plagron grow yesterday.
Adjusted LST on middle plant.
Gonna give them 1.5L.of water tommorow again.
Wondering how long it takes until calmag shows its effect, don't want to overdo it, gave it 2 times in the last 3 weeks or so,with rising concentration.
Left plant looks the best, middle.plant is very bushy and has very small nuggets compared to the others, and the third is just a Funky bastard.
DLI from 38-42
I busted up my phone, let it drop and now the camera is all fucked up
Gave them 2l of water with 6ml plagron today.
Look at the fat ass buds LOL

Gave 2L with 6ml conno.
Not gonna feed anymore
Gave them no nutes 2L water today.
RQS says it's gonna take 80-86 days from seed to harvest we are at day 70.
I was going to chop them in 2 weeks by feeling and looks like my feeling aligns with RQS estimate.
Altough the right plant is going to finish first, the middle one last and the left one between the two.
Checked Trichomes, left one has just one or two Amber's here and there, middle one lots of clear ones left one lots of cloudy ones already.
Maybe gonna feed some bloom nutes next feeding.
Also I have adjusted the LST of the middle plant, should've done that way way before, but welp... It's exam time and I have to study a lot.
Ladies are almost ready. Gonna chop em up in a few days, maybe leave the middle for a bit longer.
Gave 2 plants 1.5l, #2 and #3
#1 still had some weight left in the pot.
Trichomes are the most developed on #3 in terms of ripeness. The pheno is quite similar to #2 and the first plant I had on my last run, which was my first ever and failed in the end, lol.
#1 is the most beautiful of them all. Very frosty! And has the typical haze pheno. I hope the buds are as dense, as they are purple!
Unfortunately I have found a few spider mites on a few leaves on #3. I cut these little fuckers off and checked the plants for 2 straight hours, looks clean to me.
I think it was due to the fan not reaching that particular spot, #1 and #2 have no infestation.
The sweet smell when opening the tent is amazing, even closed, the room is stinking through the roof hehe. It smells like lemon trees in there, but when you actually put your fingers on some sugar leaves, they have a sweet berry like fragrance, just as the first plant I had.
I hope I'll get more than 100 grams of dry bud, not having to buy weed is am amazing way of saving these hard earned shekels lol.
Wish me luck my brothers.
I hope I don't fuck it up again!
This is for questions about the drying process and judgment of my work because my questions don't come through:
Please give me some advice or constructive criticism about how I can do this better, I will come back tommorow and fix it the way you guys suggest it.
It's around day 86,
Before chopping them off, I just looked at them for 30 minutes, to admire my hard work and see how far I have gotten as a novice grower. I wish I could have done this with my first grow, instead I had tears in my eyes, although they were manly ones, I swear! I had to bid farewell to my fallen comrades.
I have opted for a part wet/part dry trim.
I have cut the ladies off and trimmed the biggest fan leaves of, every leaf that showed me it's stem when looking underneath it is gone, at least most of them.
Fan is right beneath the colas around 15 cm down, but not aimed at them, just in the general area right under them.
Temp is 20C (70F) and RH is sitting at 60%.
Also, thanks for all the kind words for this grow, I have grown with it as well!
Even with my last one which ended in disaster, I have gained a lot of experience and I am happy to grow something different next and use my newly gained experience to better myself.
Growing weed is indeed a lot of fun when you get the hang of it. Can't wait until I can grow this stuff on autopilot and can truly enjoy the plants.
All popcorn buds did amount to 60g of wet plant matter.
I didn't weigh the plants themselves, because they are going to dry as whole plants like that, as long as I don't get another suggestion which makes sense to me.
The plants were easy to train, I've got a nice yield of 300g dry buds, I put them in 10 Mason Jars with 30 grams each. I've got 40 grams of cuttings for tea, oil, hash or butter, yet to be used. No photos of the jars available, my old phone broke down.
The taste was OK, bud structure was a bit airy, semi hard. It's a daytime smoke, my wife liked it very much, but I need something with more potency. You don't get stoned, but rather have a
light clear high, which is not bad, but I would've liked a stronger effect on this spectrum of high as well.
I am not going to grow automatics again, only if I get them as a gift. I don't like the fact that you have less control of your plant, it would've needed 2 weeks more of vegging.
You can argue that my pots were too big, but the instructions were to directly plant them in the final pot (12.5L).
The rootsystem wasn't as developed as I would have liked it to be, comparing it with my first ever grow, where I have planted seeds I had found in my bought weed, the root system was at maybe 60%.
Plants were leafy(-ish), but I didn't prune them as hard as I would with photoperiodic plants, to not stress them too much, again, there is a time constraint with automatics.

Bravo, you made it to the finish line, and your dry room sounds like it's set up pretty well! I do a similar trim on mine, removing fan leaves for dry and doing final trim before curing. I usually aim for 55% RH but honestly I've heard people have success anywhere 50-60%. Fan making air flow and not direct contact with the plants like you describe is exactly what you are looking for.
Now the hard part, being patient and waiting for a full dry before cure hahaha. Dry until you can snap the main stem, one side breaking clean and the other side of stem hanging on by fibers. If breaks clean off its over dry, and if doesn't break off one side is not dry enough.
Best of luck and congrats again they look great
@Grow_for_Happiness, thanks for the assurance my friend!
I have calculated the VPD for the 60F & 60%RH it came out as 0.70 kPa, when calculating my parameters it comes out as 0.71 kPa, I know that people talk about optimal conditions but am aware of the range where the weed still turns out nicely. I have learner that there is more than just 1 way to skin the cat and since the VPD is in relation the temp and RH it should come out as the same, I just have to make sure that there is really enough airflow. There was not much information on the topic of VPD and drying weed, but essentially it's still the amount of water evaporation in the plants ( I don't have an IR thermometer to measure the Leaf VPD, so I'm relying only on the athmospheric VPD, but it should be enough for my needs atm). As long there is no mold issues, I will report back to you, maybe this information will be helpful to you as well. my only concern is the degradation of terpenes at higher temperature, but I have read a study (ID: PMC8911901, just type the code in google), where they stated that they have microwaved to dry, albeit ofcourse in a scientific and professional surrounding and still with an offtaste.
whish me luck and I thank you greatly for your advice and kind words!
@ironf1st, that second fan looks like it will really help with airflow, and bouncing it off the wall like that is a great way to do it. RH is what it is, at least if you have good airflow and air exchange like you now do it will help as much as it can 👍🤞.
I always try and keep in mind that when people talk numbers online it's usually a "optimum range", doesn't really mean it won't work outside of that. If you check them every day or so you will spot any "bad buds" early.
One outdoor season my 4 plants yielded 12 pounds, I dried it in my garage humidity ranging 60-80% and temps 5°c-15°c and I only lost maybe 10% in the end.
@Grow_for_Happiness, thank you for your kind words, i installed a second fan this one is oscillating, I've build a platform for it.
The current temp and RH is at 19-21C° and 68-70 RH. I can't lower the humidity and temperature this run, the kPa is around 0.6 - 0.7 but mostly at in-between at 0.65~.
I hope that the second fan does its job and the ladies don't get moldy. What do you think my friend? I've read in other forums that some dry at 70% RH...
I will. Upload a new photo for your judgment of the fan situation.
@ironf1st, you got this! For me biggest thing is just keeping environment nice and stable. During dry I aim for 18-21°C and 52-55%RH and have had good luck every time (knock on wood)
