New vintage 2023. Gave chance to 7 seeds in total (Desfran, Amnezia Haze, Jack Herrer), 5 made it into positive rate of growth. We'll see what happens next.
This time I am going to feed start up nutrient for at least 4 weeks vs. 1 week vintage 2022.
All plants repotted into final destination. Windbreaker refitted for new vintage with new foil. Positive grow. Last week with Plagron Start Up before changing to regular Plagron Algae treatment. This equals 4 weeks in total with StartUp feed vs. 1 week by vintage 2022. After some light rain over the weekend, sun is shining properly again.
Flowering period in full swing. Time for a bit of LST. StartUp nutrient cut, only clear tap water (1.5l per pot). Compared to vintage 2022 - much better growth (probably due to longer StartUp feeding). Amnesia 2 makes it visually better than Desfran 2 & 3, while Desfran 1 is outgrowing Amnezia 1. Desfran 3 looks least optimistic - probably due to roots mishandling by repotting.
After 1 week of pure water, now it is fed with Plagron Alga Bloom (4ml/l). Watering occurs approx. every 5 days (depending of substrate conditions). After 1 month and 1 week (38 days) temperatures started to reach 30deg C.
Started to feed with Alga Bloom 5 days ago, with some LST works the plants grow amazingly. One of the Amnesias grows a bit flat (by itself, it started to do so before LST measures) and Desfrans are taking over in overall height. Flowering is full swing and the least developed Desfran 3 is now levelling with the big number 1 which outgrow Amnesia A. Nice competition here.
Since it's a bit windy (probably last week before months of no-breeze) they are still within the windbreaker. The plan for next week is to let them out to breathe fully.
Positive growth, increased demand on watering and nutrients (deficits shown on fan leaves - dead ones removed), slowed height growth (did they reach maximum?). Buds growing slowly but properly.
NEWS UPDATE: Seems like fertiliser I used wasn't providing enough food anymore (expiration date). Just got a fresh new bottle and applied today. This batch might not reach assumed yield, so I decided to plant a new batch alongside and change the routines a bit, applying even more fluids in veggie phase (some say 2 gallons/9 litres a 15litre pot, but I think it's too far gone). A new diary will be created as soon as new batch will commence its germination.
06-07-2023 - This vintage is lost... apparently. FIRST: bad nutrient for starters (date expired), SECOND: after adding fresh new nutrient issues with absorption.
08-07-2023 - You can see the pictures - damage has been done. A lot of fan leaves yellowed and has to be removed (forced defoliation). Some microscopic yield can be expected in 2-3 weeks.
12-07-2023 - DP Desfran 2 is going to be flushed this week (top bud is getting there with clear/milky trichoms). Gradual harvest in 2 weeks time.
13-07-2023 - All remaining plants received reduced nutrient treatment (3ml/l, 1.5l per plant) in the morning.
Photo session in the evening. Close ups on DP Desfran 2 looking like soon to be ready. Water flush only now. Change of smell from intensive diesel to more pleasant one.
16-07-2023 - DP Desfran 2 is growing super fast, 2 steps ahead of the other, with second week of flushing. Rest of the pack receives reduced nutrients (3ml/l) and growing positively at their own pace.
21-07-2023 - Heatwave (40-48C) doesn't help to finish this batch, already struck by malnutrition in the early period. Need to put them into shaded space, to keep them away from scorching sun at the moment. Added 2l of water (clean for DPD2, mixed 3ml/l for the rest). Will increase watering periods and amounts to 3litres every day or two (depending on situation).
22-07-2023 - Due to high temperatures, whole batch kept away from direct sun. 2l mixed water added to each (DPD2 pure) due to massive evaporation. DPD2 still on the way to get most of trichoms cloudy.
24-07-2023 - Heatwave prevents further growth. Everything slowed down. Whole batch is brought down in shade. Cooler temperatures are forecast in next two days.
26-07-2023 - End of heat wave. Back to normal business, enjoying cool breeze. RQS Amnesia Haze looks like another close candidate to harvest soon, flushing from today on.
28-07-2023 - Just cut the Desfran 2, the most advanced of the whole batch (50% amber trichom ratio). Trimmed wet. Weight 74.2g (total). Set to dry.
29-07-2023 - Cut Desfran 1, medium advanced (amber trichoms ratio 20%). Trimmed wet. Weight trimmed 70g. Set to dry.
01-08-2023 - Cut Desfran 3, least advanced (cloudy trichom phase). Trimmed wet. Weight trimmed 65.8g. Set to dry.
07-08-2023 all plants curing at the moment. they differ in smell, taste but not really in smoking sensations. but: curing is not finished.
31-07-2023 - after flushing 4 days ago, time has come to cut the double-stemmed Amnesia Haze from RQS. Amber trichoms rate at around 10-20%. Nice buds, but lot of work by trimming of small leaves. Set for drying now.
