Decided to try the top-rated, most popular strains of Hypno Seeds: Hazenberg AM, Juicy Pussy, Cream Brulee and Dr. Hypno CBD. All Autos. Added a CBD strain to my selection to grow something different, but I also enjoy mixing CBD with THC strains, makes for a very balanced, soothing effect.
Went the usual way of good ol' paper towel, everything sprouted. Now to the final pots they go!
On the pic: top right is Juicy Pussy, top left is Hazenberg, bottom right is CBD, bottom left is Cream Brulee.
As for package, I gotta say the quality is definitely not the best: look how the brand band peels! Let's see what about the seeds themselves. They say don't judge the book by its cover...
Juicy Pussy looks quite stunted, especially compared to her "sisters". Can't spot what's going on... I started feeding them a bit at this point. See the nutrients in week's specs. Marked the strains on the photos. Let's see if Juicy Pussy recovers, all conditions are the same and the rest of my plants are doing well.
Juicy Pussy didn't make it :( Have to call it a day with her, I guess. Can not waste my time on a seedling that behaves like this, having many others that require my care and attention. I think it's weak genetics, because everything else in my grow room is flourishing. Cream Brulee made a nice push. Keeping at it.
Judge yourselves: I'm attaching pics of her from week 2 to week 4. All other plants I have going are doing pretty well in the exact same conditions, but here something went wrong and she couldn't recover. I tried to help her, but no chance. My best guess is that the strain is unstable and/or has weak genetics.
Anyway, can't waste much time on stuff like this. Gotta keep on going with my other plants.
But this one was definitely a bad bad experience.
Gave everything a thorough clean and repotted some of my plants during the week 5, hence skipped it because some of them needed a bit of recovery time. But here we go with the remaining 3 plants from Hypno. Pre-flowering, doesn't look bad at all, I'd say.
Uh-oh... Hazenberg and Cream Brulee got kinda stunted and started showing some strange signs on week 8. This is why I skipped it: was busy trying to isolate and target the issue. At first, I thought it was some sort of pH problem or deficiency, but I measured and re-adjusted everything, and all seemed to be just fine! And other plants were doing great!
A buddy told be chances are those are fungus. He told me to isolate "the suspects" to keep my other plants safe and try to treat the issue and observe how it goes, as far away as possible from others. He said it's a tough one to treat but I should try. I put them on the balcony in a safe corner. So sad, it looked so good! Trying to remove sick leaves and applying fungicides. Hoping for the best.
CBD is doing fine tho.
This strain looked very very well at the beginning, and it was super rewarding at start. But it looks to me like it has a suuuper weak disease resistance.
It was all very motivating up until the point those plants got sick. Mind you: I have several grows going on, some of them are white label seeds. All of them are doing fairly well, and as you could observe before, Hypno Seeds strains started very well too. But, judging by this outcome, and by how Juicy Pussy strain ended... Looks like they all lack stability and, especially, resistance. I'm kinda disappointed, and can't recommend them.
Can't recommend this strain, sad experience for me personally. I don't like investing time and energy into a plant and getting pests and diseases in return, really.
It turned out to be SUUPER leafy, leaf to but ratio was disappointing. On the good note she survived, she made it and the harvest even tho it turned rather on the low end of the spectrum, isn't too bad. A bit airy to my taste and the taste+potency aren't what I expected from it. But I give it a 6 out of 10, especially compared to other hypno plants
