1st Grow

LetsGrowSome During 1st week installed air intake and exhaust fans with carbon filters and logic controller. Put Mylar reflective foil on bottom half of room walls with silver tarp on floor. Installed circulation fan.

LetsGrowSome Added second King Led Grow light 4000w. Set lights to 30 in. After 2 hours, all plants showed signs of light burn. Cut 1 light off and raised other one to 48 in. Centered in room. Left lights off for 1 full day first. Then put back on 18 hr schedule 48 in away.

LetsGrowSome Stating off week 3 with new growth starting. Using a lux meter have the plants sitting around 5-6k lux

LetsGrowSome In case anyone else runs into this, I've give a breakdown of what I've learned about my grow up to this point. Kingplus led 4000w is a stupid strong light. If you've got the room, this thing is probably amazing. Problem is at 5.5ft from plants (light mounted to ceiling and plants pushed as far from it as possible is still 310-350 ppfd. Poor babies are still cooking under it. I ordered 2 kingplus 1500w led lights that should work much better. At 30in they are 427 ppfd. So at roughly 36in they should be good for my seedlings. May have to get a couple more when getting into flowering to thoroughly cover my grow space. I moved them out of my grow room for now and am opening the blinds to let mother nature help till the lights come in. Could be wasting my time, but my hope is that they will at least be in a recovery state by the time my lights come in (about a week). At least I will know I'm not gonna be cooking them any more in the mean time.

LetsGrowSome New lights still haven't come in. Found if I remove all mylar reflective foil and leave light on ceiling I can get it down to 210‐280 ppfd. Switched to rain water adding full amounts of dyna gro nutrients. Realized later I should have gotten the foliage grow instead of general grow. I added about half an inch of earthworm castings to help with the lack of Nitrogen from the general grow formula. In the last 3 days they have all started growing fast, healthy, and green again. New leaves coming in and starting to increase in size. Thanks for the advise to all those who chimed in on my light burn question!

LetsGrowSome Finally getting back to faster growth. Adjusted rain water ph to 6.5 with nutrients. Lowered light to 460ppd. Last 3 days have shown quicker healthy growth.

LetsGrowSome Kept things the same and starting to get good growth from all nodes now. Have Gupta Kush 3 in pre-flowering now though. Also showing slow growth. Appears healthy. Possible too much stress in past?

LetsGrowSome Hitting late veg now on all the rest. Gupta 3 starting to bud at 5 inch plant size. Poor thing lol. Start of pistols forming on rest. Growing fast now. Added second light and adjusted height to 600ppd. Added CO2 mushroom bag.

LetsGrowSome Started to really stretch out over this week so far. Growing 1 to 1.5 in a day. Turned the bloom light on. Tried lowering light to manufacture recommended height, but in 2 hours could see the plants raising leaves to shelter and tips starting to lighten. Calculator method seems most accurate to determining my lights strength and density. I moved the light back to 48 in and left bloom on. Seeing plants starting to spread as well as climb now. New pistols still forming as well as new leaves. Noticed what appears to be a Cal Mag deficiency forming due to gator and taco leaves. Going to start applying cal mag supplement and taking away Dyna Gro mag supplement.

LetsGrowSome Most are staying short and bushy. Except Afgooey 1 has decided it wants to try to touch the light I guess. It's growing ridiculously fast in height, but not so bushy. Climbing 1.5 to 2 in every day! It's 35.5 in as of this morning with the closest 1 to it being Hog 2 at 28 in. Both seem to be budding well though. Hog 3 and Gupta 1 are falling a bit behind on bud development. Not sure if they are just a bit behind or if there is a nute issue. I have stopped giving dyna gross mag supplement and switch to a cal mag supplement. Also switching to feeding on every 3rd water due to build up of salts on outside of fabric pots. Also going to be backing down on bloom as per dyna gro instructions at this stage. Thinking I may have a little too much phosphorus with Gupta 1 and Hog 3. Thin blades, yellowing on new sprouts and a little cal mag deficiency. Hoping after next water and lower nutes will get them back in check.

LetsGrowSome Removed some bottom leaves that had turned yellow. Week 11 went back and added 2ml per gallon of veg for a little more Nitrogen as they appeared to be a little short on it. Afgooey 1 still stretching for the stars. Had to bend it as it was getting heat stress from being so close to the light. It last measured 50 in before bending and was still growing about 1.5 in a day. Found all plants are now at different stages of bloom. Starting to thicken up on 5 plants buds. 3 still just starting flowering process good. Gupta 3 should be ready to harvest in about a week or so. Getting excited now to see the thickening of the buds. Can't wait to see how they finish.

LetsGrowSome So after a couple weeks of trying to establish the right mix of nutrients and water, had found all plants but afgooey 2 were under feed causing leaves to yellow and some to drop. Runoff test showed 100-150 ppm from first bit of runoff. Mag deficiency was starting to appear on hog 3. Potassium deficiency on several. Upped the nutes and now they are all starting to green back out. Buds fattening up better now. Harvested Gupta 3, the little guy. Was 15g wet 🙄. In the curing process already since was so small of buds. Afgooey 2, 3 and hog 1 are all getting close to harvest. Eagerness is really setting in. Can't wait to try these guys, but gotta wait and do it right!

LetsGrowSome This week had good and bad. I cut down afgooey 2 and dried, starting curing. Other plants getting close but not ready yet. Tried a bud that had been curing and it was amazing. Strong flavor and due to being 100% indica relaxing, hunger, and couch lock were all side efects. Super happy with it. Had unfortunate incident where I lost control of temp and humidity. 7 remaining plants took a bad hit as well as my buds drying in the closet next to the grow room. Hit over dry and started severely eating their leaves for food. Saturated all pots with 1.3ec nutes and 6.7ph and checked next day. Still were getting worse. Saturated with rain water again next day and left sitting in full tray underneath overnight. Next morning all water had been soaked up and leaves appear to be starting recovery now. Close one, almost lost them. Figured out through up rooting the 2 plants finished and found roots were getting bound on both of them because of the compost clumping. Also compost holds a lot of moisture, however since it got compacted, the roots can't grow though it or even pull enough from it at times. Gives a false hydrated feel when lifting pots to check for watering. Definitely won't use this mixture again. Lost lots of potential yeild. Will save compost to only mix into top of soil if needed to replenish soil. Put the over dried buds from the closet into a jar with 58% humidity pack. Got about 1 oz total dry off of afgoeey 2.
