Didn't germinate in water just popped straight in to the soil, sprouted after 2 days. Started in a 0.5l pot under a 125w CFL in a 70x70x160 tent, just getting lightly sprayed with Canna Rhizotonic. This is my first auto grow so I'm sure I'll make plenty of mistakes, any and all help will be appreciated. Wish me luck.

Put the Royal Gorilla into a bigger pot now I have room in a taller tent. She's been put in to a 12.5l airpot, I'm hoping that will be bug enough for the entire grow as I know autos don't like repotting. Growth seems to have really slowed down this week, I'm hoping it's just a case of all the hard works going on in the soil and I'll see the results above ground soon enough. To be honest I probably started the diary a little soon as technically she's still in seedling phase not veg.

Growth seems to be picking up slightly this week, this is the point where I probably should of started the diary as the 1st 2 weeks from germination seem very slow growth so I'm hoping from this point it will rapid growth. Put a 4" fan in the tent now giving a bit of a breeze towards her hoping to strengthen up her stem. Added a small heater on day 19 to stop such big temperature swings, definitely seems to be helping as growth has picked up. Thanks for checking the diary out.

Week 4 and the Royal Gorilla is starting to up its growth rate, looking really healthy and loving the new higher temperatures from last weeks heater. Up to about 4.5" and a lovely green colouring to the leaves. Starting a weekly Crop Guard SM spray now, no sign of mites but prevention is definitely better than cure when it comes to spider mites. Have now started a bit of LST on day 24 just some tying down and leaf tucking, getting some light to lower nodes and she seems to be responding well.

Being a total novice when it comes to autos I was wondering should I top her soon, leave it a while or not top at all? I keep reading conflicting reports so thought I'd ask actually growers. Thanks in advance :)

Hi @Undercovergrower! If it's your first time with autos, you might consider letting the plant grow in its natural shape with no HST operations such as topping or fimming. LST works well with autos but HST manipulations usually stunt the growth for a week or more. Remember with autos, loosing time is loosing yield. However if you're confident about this and if you're not hurry to smoke your buds, you can try to top her at the 3rd node after the 4th node has developed. This way, you loose a part of the plant, but the recovery / new growth happens much faster. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

Start of week 5, we'll day 28 and she's looking lovely. Responding well to LST few of the lower nodes catching up with the main stem. Getting heat and humidity dialed in and it's showing in growth. Forgot to mention at the start of the grow as well I'm growing in a 70x70x160 tent and vegging under a 300w viparspectra at the moment.

Starting to show early stages of flowering this week. I've added a 600w Mars hydro led to boost it as I don't think the 300w viparspectra was enough.

Had a little break away with the family this week so had to leave a friend in charge of her. Came back to a fair bit of yellowing, need to up my feeds a bit and I've done a bit of defoliating at the base of the plant where the light had no chance of getting. Bit more moving around and tieing down this week as well, buds swelled quite a bit in a week. Any ideas what's up judging by the leaves? I'm thinking phosphorus deficiency?

Having real trouble with yellowing leaves this week stems have gone a dark purple as well, not looking too healthy. Thought it may be phosphorus deficiency but upping my bloom hasn't really helped. Any suggestions? Update - after some advice I've upped my bloom feeds, cal mag and added Remo Astro Flower to the schedule. Never grown an auto before and was being far too cautious with feed strength. Lesson learnt and will change that up next grow, got a load of auto seeds waiting to be planted.

Hello @Undercovergrower ! What you have there is nitrogen and phosphorus deficiencies. The purple stems and petioles can be occurred from many different things so its not very reliable indicator. Ideally the nitrogen deficiency should start at around week 8 but that's not a big problem, the problem is the phosphorus deficiency . The fact that you have a phosphorus deficiency so soon tells me that your plant didn't develop its buds at its full potential. Anyway, since your are at week 8 there is no need to raise the grow nutrients. What you can do is to raise the bio bloom. A dosage of 1 ml/l bio bloom for this stage of flowering is very very low even if you were using all mix. Raise it at 4 ml/l for 1 maybe 2 weeks and then flush. One thing is sure man, you are going to have a very smooth smoke without nutrients taste. Happy growing ! 👊

Things seem to be back on track this week after week 7/8 having major yellowing problems I've upped my feed strength a lot and it's really helped. Yellowing has slowed & buds have really swelled. I think she's got about 20 days left on her.

Started flushing this week and shes yellowing up pretty quick (I'm guessing due to the very low feed throughout) a lesson learnt for the next auto grow. She's fattened up. Nicely in the last few weeks considering the mistreatment. I think she will be ready to chop next week.

Absolute pleasure to grow, I've never grown autos before and they really are very easy. I think I'll be growing them a lot more often. This particular plant responded really well to LST and produced very dense nugs, well done Royal Queen Seeds. Thanks everyone for the help along the way, time for the next grow!0
