Germination

On the ground reality impacts options. Short season/cold temps but really long daylight hrs. Small tent. Legally limited to 4 plants at a time. Hard to source many of the products folks take for granted locally or via shipping. All I can strive for is the best we can do given what we have available. Given space and climate the plan is to start 4 indoors and move the Revolver & Gorilla Glue out to the balcony once overnight temps improve. The Tangerine Dream x 2 will stay indoors.

Everyone seems reasonably happy. Lights up another smidge. Still feeding 1/8 strength. Trying to find that happy medium between ramping up slow and steady vs too slow and depriving them of something they need. Still at least 2 weeks, maybe even three, away from being able to put Revolver and Gorilla Glue outdoors. We had 3 nights with overnight frost this week

Quite the growth spurt this week. 3 are 7" tall and Revolver is 9" Everyone seems happy so have continued with feed at 1/8th strength but added in one dose of calmag at 1/3 strength once this week. Plan was to increase dosages in week 3 but they seem to be doing well so will stay the course for another week. Revolver & Gorilla Glue still indoors as the overnight temps have stayed really low. Picked up a small AC for the room with the tent as afternoon temps are getting quite high in that room. Had already pulled the ballast off to outside the tent.

Pretty major growth this week. Everybody more or less doubled in size. They now range from 17-19" except for Gorilla Glue at 15" Three of the Four also displaying white pistols - not G.Glue yet though. Significant increase in water consumption, all of them, as well. Stayed the course on nutrients for an additional week as they seem happy. Feels like "so little" though. Still feeding 1/8th strength + once weekly calmag - again weaker strength. Sensing they should probably be switched to Bloom formula this week - but not sure if you switch as soon as pistols appear or wait a bit. If only the weather outside would cooperate. Overnight temps are staying unusually low. Plan was always for Gorilla Glue and Revolver to go outdoors. Having to delay the move-out and keep them inside is making things pretty crowded in the small tent.

Curious about the noticeable visual differences between the 2 Tangerine Dream Auto's. Two seeds from same packet of 5. #1 has thinner fingers with 7 lobes and is a full 2" taller. #2 is shorter, bushier and has 9 lobe thicker fingered leaves.Thoughts?

even though two plants may belong to the same breed, they can exhibit different phenotypes. This is because each plant inherits a unique combination of genes from both the father and the mother. As a result, one plant may have a stronger genetic influence from the father, while the other may showcase more prominent traits from the mother. These phenotypic variations are normal and natural in the plant world. It can be exciting to observe how different characteristics manifest in each plant, even within the same breed. Each phenotype has its own beauty and may offer unique benefits in terms of growth, production, or resistance to certain conditions. It's important to remember that phenotypes are a visual expression of a plant's genes and do not necessarily indicate superiority or inferiority. Each plant is special in its own way and deserves to be appreciated for its uniqueness. I wish you the best of luck with your plants and hope you enjoy the process of observing how they develop and express their individual characteristics. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. Best regards and success in your cultivation journey!

Another big week of stretching. All are 29-31" tall except G-Glue at 23.5" Bloom formula at 1/4 strength. CalMag once this week again weaker than full strength. Significant increase in water consumption. G-Glue & Revolver finally outside.

Another week of stretching. G.G. is 31", Revolver is 35", T-Dream #1 is 36" and T-Dream #2 is 35.5" Hope they settle in and stop putting on height soon. Two tangerine dream are indoors. G.Glue and Revolver are outdoors. Still running 16/8 but this week changed the timing to be lights-on overnight when temps a lower and their lights-off period to be afternoon/early eve when outdoor temps are the highest. Trying to keep the tent below 80 I had already decided to try different nutrients for next grow and had picked them up Not sure if it is ever a good idea to change horses mid-race but I found what I was originally using just seemed way to strong. Even feeding at 1/8-1/4 strength. Started the Canna for Peat line of nutrients this week at half-strength for first dose and fingers crossed the transition goes well. More than a little concerned about Gorilla Glue - 41 days old and only the odd pistol here and there and no real signs of flowering. We have a short outdoor season so it's a tad concerning.

Finally appears we are done stretching. The 2 Tangerine Dreams finished at 38" Revolver and G.Glue are 37" Second week now with Canna for peat line. Still at half strength. CalMag as well this week, also half strength. Noticeable increase in the amount of water the indoor plants seem to want. Gorilla glue finally starting to show flowers, at day 50 yikes! Sure hope she decides to pick up the pace now. I would hope it's unlikely to get photoperiod seed in an autoflower packet but I suppose anythings possible. Ordered and installed the height extension for the tent which made it possible to take the light back up to 18" plus added an oscillating fan. Striving to keep the temp under 80. Added a top and bottom pic of the same leaf taken from really low on the stalk so a quite old leaf. Feel free to comment if you think this just demonstrates old age or a deficiency.

A bit of a challenging week. Long work days away from home. The gals in the tent seemed to want way more food & water this week. The outdoor ladies are just chugging along, except the idiot cat is obsessed with Revolver. Biting, stealing small pieces of lower fan leaves. Bent down 2 large side branches. I have splinted the injured branches to give them at least a chance of self-repair but I think we will probably lose them. Feeding remains at half-strength but I've increased frequency. On one feed this week omitted the PK & replaced with CalMag.

Indoor Cut back on the nutes a bit as I think I might be seeing a few hints here and there for overfeeding. Lower side branches on the T.Dreams in the tent started to sag a bit with weight so supported them back to main stem with pipe cleaners Both are craving water more frequently and smell has increased significantly. Total guess as a newby but thinking we might be about 3 weeks??? to harvest. No idea though. Outdoor It's been really windy of late, added some support/trellis to both plants and tied in. The splinted side branches on Revolver have not died so optimistic they will make it. Will remove splints after 10 days and see if they will hold up on their own. Idiot cat remains obsessed with Revolver lol won't grow this strain again haha These 2 still have a long way to go compared to indoor

Indoor Tangerine Dream x 2 continue to just be chugging along. No major changes or issues this week. Have started checking trichomes every 3 or 4 days to try and get a handle on how much longer for these two. Outdoor Also no major changes or issues this week. Slow to mature but the weather has been really crappy with little sun. Mostly cloudy, rainy windy and cold. Yuck. LOL added a photo of the idiot cat that remains truly obsessed with Revolver. Chew a lower leaf, have a nap, rough life

As a brand newbie pretty chuffed with the results. Learned a lot along the way. 360g wet, 119.65g or 4.27 oz dry from 2 plants. Really just wanted to get through one cycle, reach the finish line without killing them and gain an understanding of the natural growth habit the plant wants to take before attempting to learn some training techniques. Tent is very small. Truly understand that reducing size while increasing yield will be the direction we need to go.

Difficult journey with this plant. In it's defense was grown outside and we had a pretty horrible June and July. Cold, cloudy and windy. To make matters worse this was the strain that my cat became absolutely obsessed with. Biting the lowest fan leaves then heading for a nap. This poor plant had much to deal with. Still produced acceptable weight or 63g dry given it's challenges but the buds are light and airy. Can't totally be blamed on conditions as the Gorillia glue sitting right beside is doing noticeably better.

Three of the four plants for this summer are harvested and in jars. Only Gorilla Glue remains and remains outdoors. So now given our crappy summer weather this year I suppose it will be a race between genetically pre-programmed life-span & the lack of any decent sunshine. Fingers crossed.

Gorilla Glue outdoors is the only plant remaining from this grow. Hopefully starting to fade on it's own as nighttime temps are dropping quite low.

First time I tried an outdoors grow. Turned out to be a challenge but can't blame the strain or genetics for the horrible weather we had this year. Really cold summer with lots of rain. Our over night temps have already started to drop dramatically which is early and we have had a week straight of almost solid rain. I knew we were in for a race to the finish but was hoping we'd make it another 7-10 days - ultimately the spider mites and earwigs moved in with a vengeance and since this plant was destined for the tincture pot anyway I just called it and took her down a tad early.
