In this week not much happened, again. There are some deformed leafs, but nothing else conspicuous. The weather was extremely bad. I am really curious how my winter experiment is developing. In the next few days the weather should get better :) Have a relaxed sunday :)

Hey Guys, I'm starting my last grow for this year and I want to share my process with you :) And directly I got a problem: the cotyledons getting brown on the tips. I never had this problem before. Best regards from Germany

There is a definite issue here. The leaf growth looks a little wonky. I would bet its something with the PH of the water in question. If you are truly running a ph of 8.7 this is far too high for proper nutrient uptake. Try to get it down around 6-6.2 and monitor the ph of the run off to get an actual read of the soil PH itself as apposed to the watering PH.

Hello @clmbs ! I don't think there was a problem. If it was a problem the cotyledons would never become green again. Maybe you were late and you didn't put it under the light as soon as the seed popped . Happy growing ! 👊

Hi @clmbs! We’re missing some crucial informations here: what’s your medium? Do you have the NPK ratios for this substrate? Do you check the pH and EC of your waterings? If so what are the current values? How often do you water and how much (volume)? My guess is that you over-watered the roots, it’s a common mistake with small plants in big containers. As a result, plant cannot drink all of the water and roots are suffocating, they can’t get oxygen anymore. Roots need to be on a wet/dry cycle to properly spread, searching for water. Each cycle should be pretty quick (24~36h) so you should always water with 15-20% of the container’s capacity. Never water with more than 25% of you pot’s volume. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

Hello ! Your cotyledons are yellowing a bit or did they ever been green ? I saw that in the past when the shell of your seeds takes time to get away so the less light exposed part are less green than the others and in your case you can see a "séparation line" between the yellow and green so I won't bet on any issues right now. The overall looks good to me but keep watching at the yellowing and if it spread on the rest of the seedling then it will be too late at that stage or will make you more time than poping another seed. Hope it will help you 👍😁

Your plant is looking a little unhealthy. 8.7ph is really high. Also, what soil are you using? I don't see any perlite, so I would worry about the roots getting smothered by the weight of the soil - the soil needs to be loose enough for the roots to be able to get oxygen.

Good luck with the grow ;)
