July 5: A lot of heavy rain and storms. Janis lost a branch but other than that, all is well. Had some japanese beatles for a day (july 4) and removed them, let's see if they come back. No extra water, no fertilizer. Did some trimming of lower branches and small ones inside to start improving air flow.
July 7: Watered yesterday and it rained overnight.
July 7: The lattice I had laid out beside Carole to prevent branches going to the neighbour's side, fell and broke 2 branches. Sigh.
