Germination

Hi welcome to my first indoor grow! I chose a super budget setup with basically every setup option being the cheapest in their class, even the seeds are cheap but I've been a happy customer on their webshop for other stuff so I hope their seeds will be just as good. 3/3 seeds germinated in 48 hours using the paper towel method, before putting them in the paper towel I had them in a glass of water for 8 hours. Then I put them in 100% coco coir as seen on the picture. Alongside this strain I will be growing 2 other strains, I will put 3 or 4 plants in my tent (I haven't decided yet, feel free to make a suggestion) and will pick the strongest seedlings of every strain and continue with them, and if I go with 4 plants one strain will get 2 plants. My only concern so far is the Mars Hydro TS600 light, within an hour of being on it already gets insanely hot, I can't even touch the metal case, it's THAT hot. Please tell me if this is normal and if this light can cause a fire and if I should do anything to cool it (tent temperature around 25°C/77°F).

Hi it's Friday and you know what that means! A week has passed since germination and here is my update! As said I was very worried about the TS600 heat and ordered a TS1000 to put the driver outside my tent and it has helped a bunch. My TS1000 is dimmed to around 55%. I bought 2 cheap clip fans that are running constantly not directly on the plants as they are not oscillating. Humidity has been a constant battle, I've put wet sponges and a tray of water in my tent, but it's not enough, so to fix it I always have my exhaust fan off and only when humidity hits 70% I turn it on until it hits 60% and I repeat that constantly manually. I could buy a humidifier but the whole point of this grow is to keep it as low budget as possible. I fed once and I think it was too early as the seedlings showed some spots the next day, as seen on the second picture. But I'm not sure if that's the reason for the spots, feel free to help me diagnose. 1 out of the 3 did not sprout sadly. Feel free to leave any tips or questions! See you next week!

Another Friday another update! There was some extreme heat last week and the house just kept getting warmer, this caused the tent to be pretty hot the entire week. But the plants still had a good week, I started feeding again slowly and they took it well! I decided to stop worrying about humidity and temperature too much, because I just couldn't fight both at the same time and it seems like it didn't matter that much in the end, the plants still did great! I think tomorrow or the day after I will have to make a choice on which of these 2 to plants to keep, and transplant it into the final pot I will use until harvest! See ya next week!

Hi again! Here’s the update from the past week. I transplanted the strongest looking plant into her final pot and keeping the other one just in case she didn’t make it through the transplant. Other than that nothing much to say, I feel like they’re growing a bit slow when I compare to other diaries. They do look pretty healthy though so I don’t know what’s up. See you next week!

Hi I’m a bit late this time with the update but here we go! I noticed how stunted my girl was compared to other growlogs and googled the biggest symptom I saw; that the nodes were very close to eachother. I found out my light might be too close/intense. So I put it almost twice as high and sure enough she immediately started growing way quicker! Sadly it’s probably a bit late since she will start flowering soon but I think I’m doing everything else right so might still turn out okayish. And my next grow will go way better now that I know this. See ya next week!
