Germination
Germination week 30/04 to 7/05 This year I start off pretty late, beginning of May, as I wasn’t really planning to do it seriously this year. I just decided last minute to germinate only 1 seed that the last Lemon Shining Silver Haze had produced. My objectives this year, since I’m taking it a bit easy, will be: -Focusing only and better on one plant (I only ever did sets of 3 plants together 2 times, and as a rookie, trying HST and mainlining I got timing wrong and reduced my yield drastically) -Applying only LST and doing no cuts whatsoever (maybe defoliation/lollipopping at some point but not invasive): I will try the technique of bending the main stem around by exposing lateral growth and making it branch out upward -Adding natural boosters and nutrients for roots, nutrient absorption etc for maximizing the development -Repot it 2 times and going possibly with a vase of 100L. As the point above, maximizing the growth of my only plant is important. Although since I started pretty late I don’t know how beneficial it will be, so we’ll see. Just like my first grow, I’m not buying new seeds but instead going with a seed from a flower of a feminized plant, which has more chances of being female than in nature, but still hasn’t got 100% probability of yield. Germination had no problems, starting vase had soil from my old grow with perlite mixed to moist dirt from my garden. No lack of nutrients visible

Week from 29/05 to 4/06 Repotting was successful, 12L pot that’s gonna serve only as a middle-pot, next one will be way bigger but I still have to read something to make sure I don’t stun the growth accidentally. I’m gonna wait next week to start bending the main stem

Week from 12/06 to 18/06 The lateral growths are coming along pretty good, I will soon have to direct them outward so they get wider and get more light as possible. I will also have to bend the main stem around the pot as it’s already over the edge and I can’t hold it down. This Sunday I started with the nutrients, consisting in Plagron’s alga grow (npk 4-2-4) and cane molasses for sugar. Im gonna monitor how much I water them, as it’s not very frequent and I don’t usually have a schedule for it. -Let’s say first watering: Sunday 18/06 1.5L of water with 6ml of Plagron and 15ml of molasses

I tried bending the stem in a point where it curved upwards, too much tension and it snapped below the 5th node. I immediately poured water, cinnamon, and put something to hold it together. Then replaced with duct tape. Will it survive? It’s been 15hrs and leaves are kinda droopy

I have had branches hanging by a thread after they broke and still do good. Just wait and see if she will be ok. All you can do know.

Week from 19/06 to 25/06 So the main stem snapped, even though I didn’t want to cut anything this year, and let the main stem bend around, I couldn’t predict this. At least it snapped right under the 5th node, so there’s a bit of stem left and that means it won’t split when I pull the 2 top growths to the side

Week from 31/07 to 6/08 Very bad weather, heavy rain, hailstorms and high winds, but it didn’t do that much damage in my area. Although only 20km away there were hail grains as big as tennis balls that destroyed cars and roofs Haven’t watered it with nutrients so it kinda did a natural flush by itself

8th flowering Week out of 10: from 9/10 to 15/10 Unfortunately 3 big buds have budrot, and the whole plant has spidermites. I started uni again and can’t tend to the plant as frequently besides the weekend. Any suggestions? I will clean each leaf with an alcohol/soap combination

10th week of flowering: week from 23/10 to 29/10 This is the last week of flowering for this strain. Unfortunately here in north eastern Italy the outdoor climate isn’t so kind in this period. So even If I wanted to let them mature a bit more, the temperature at night goes to 10°C. It hasn’t perfectly matured, but that’s what I have. I noticed some trichomes have lost the head or sphere at the top. I read that’s due to low temperature, so I see myself forced to harvest it now. Also it’s better to get them out the rain since bud rot and mold are still spreading in some branches.

So since I had the mold and bud rot problems I had to divide my schedule of harvest and divide the product as well. - Healthy buds are ones belonging to branches where there are no signs of rot/mold. -Mid-healthy buds are untouched by disease but still belonging to a branch where there was some disease. -Last category are the salvaged ones, where I cut them from bigger buds that had disease or they were in some part affected. These 3 categories each have their own drying space and where harvested in this order to prevent spreading of spores and stuff. For the salvaged buds every time I removed a part with disease I cleaned the scissors with alcohol. I only removed the sun-leaves + penguin leaves and will be doing a dry trim for the sugar leaves later on.
