We've done a couple auto closets and decided to do a diary this time. Autoflowers are great for closet setups, or any setup where light leaks could be an issue. Excited to try Mephisto Genetics this run and although she started a bit slow and with a little droop in her leaves we are confident in her genetics and expecting her to take off in coming weeks besides Fastbuds Gorilla Cookies. A simple set up with a clip fan to pull air out from the top, an oscillating tower fan to keep fresh air moving, also extra fan incase temps get high or need more airflow. We use emergency mylar blankets tacked to the drywall for our reflective backing. Each plant will be centered under a ViparSpectra 150W quantum board. As usual for Autoflowers they are planet in their final pots, we don't top our autos but LST will come as they get taller to increase yields and canopy size.
Our Autoflower closet had a pretty good start. Gorilla Cookies has come along pretty quickly, Creme de la Chem a bit slower but not worried expecting to see alot of growth starting from both next week. Looking healthy and have begun low dose feedings. I always use half strength of the recommended amount when using autoflowers so only .5 ml of the base nutes this week, 1ml next week. All additives are at low dose as well, half doses. Lights are at roughly 50% power with a PPFD of around 200, little over. I try to not go too high over 200 for seedlings. Power and light intensity will slowly increase as they grow. Expecting flowering around weeks 4-5, that seems to be typical for us at least with autoflowers.
Was a good, easy week as the girls got their growth spurts in. Creme de la Chem not tiny anymore and growing strong. There were some signs of deficiency towards the end of the week and we've raised the base nutes to 1 ml per liter. I also need to start taking more pictures of the Autoflowers I've noticed lol.
Good week of growth, they really started to take off as expected. We've done a few Autoflower closets and the first week is usually slow then they're full gear to the finish line. Most Autos start to flower between weeks 4 and 5 so I'll be adding Bud Ignitor ahead of time this following week. For flowering autos I tend to begin counting off the flowering weeks the moment i see even a couple pistils and signs of the stretch. LST will also begin next week, but I have yet to top an autoflower and won't be this time. Some defoliation and pruning sucker branches will take place probably around week 5, I try to do it early in flower then leave them alone barring some light training here and there.
The autos have been doing great this week and responded well to LST. First tie down I cut a couple leaves, 3ish to open them slightly. Continued training with the side branches towards the end of the week with one round of light defoliating. No more until after stretch where I'll snip off suckered and a couple fan leaves that block out good budding sites.
Signs of pistils forming towards the end of this week! Bud Ignitor was added on the last feeding at first Signs of pistils.
Running a bit behind on things, caught an upper respiratory but keeping the girls fed, watered and an eye on their environments
A good week for the closet autos. Been rough being sick and I made some mistakes compared to last auto grows. I should of trained them sooner and probably a couple less leaves from Creme next time as she's looking like she may end up short, Gorilla Cookies stretching away but they have separate lights we can adjust so not worried. It's possible she was a runt or it could be normal ita my first run with Creme and Mephisto but she's very healthy, lush leaves and sturdy stems. Going to keep training any branches shooting ab9ve each plants canopy
Closet girls are doing great, Creme has been slowly creeping up a little taller at a time. Looking at other diaries though I'm not too worried, she doesn't grow super tall which is fine of course. Gorilla cookies continues her stretch and we've adjusted the lights accordingly. Big Bud is added this week and faint hints of their terpenes are becoming noticeable.
