Hello Growmies! Surprise! Another diary!
If you have been following "An Epsilon Adventure" you will know I recently selected the best six of ten Epsilon F1 seedlings and removed the four weakest, leaving me with three coco & perlite filled 30l pots ready to go. They have even been being fertigated with Start and Roots!
So I have had some difficult decisions to make regarding what to put in those three pots.
The Options:
Top Tao
I recently got a lot of different Top Tao seeds from placing 5th in Diary of the Month and they are all regular which is absolutely awesome and contains a mix of autos and photos indoor/outdoor. I am really excited to experiment with those but I am going to have to be patient! It will likely be springtime for those seeds.
Purple OG Punch
With three seeds left from the 5 SSSC sent me, and with Purple OG Punch being my favourite weed now, I have been sorely tempted to grow all three! But I have already grown this and though I want more, I am looking to gain experience and learn about different strains and the way different genetics grow, etc. I started for the bud, but I'm staying for the knowledge.
Sweet Seeds
The guys at Sweet Seeds offered me the opportunity to grow some of their genetics and since I have enjoyed following some diaries with their beans I thought I'd give it a go. From their catalogue I picked three strains to try, and it just so happens that those three strains arrived not so long ago. Serendipitous? Well three pots and three Sweet Seeds strains, seems so!

Sweet Zensation XL Auto
Tropicanna Poison XL Auto

Well it is the end of week one and this Orange Apricot Glue XL Auto is following the usual pattern of a slower growing indica-dominant autoflower. I am happy with this first week, I have seen better, I have seen worse. This girl cannot be compared to the F1 grow I'm also doing, but compared with previous autos she is doing alright. That said, I am now expecting to see big things from this lady over the next seven days. See you tomorrow!

Well it is the end of another week and I am most happy with Olga compared to her sisters. She is looking chonky. Week three is a big week for an auto-flower as it usually marks the start of pre-flowering. We will see what happens but I am most interested in how fat the leaves are on this girl!

Something I have never seen on any grow before, the biggest fan leaves have taken on a weird symptom. Initially rigid, now sort of partially floppy and twisted with a rigid stem... took me a good while to figure out what was going on. What's happened is the aphid treatment I drenched them in a couple of days ago (Neudorff BugFree) had dried on the leaf. I've given it a "wash" but I am not sure it's going to go back to normal.

It is the end of week three for Olga and she has continued to impress. Her stem is so thick that I can't LST her so much. Let's see what happens in week 4 which is usually the last week of veg for autos.

Olga is starting to come around to my way of thinking in terms of her apical dominance and general developmental prioritisation. The LST is slowly making a difference. She is start to adapt to it and grow into it. This will be a pretty big week for Olga, and she is the most advanced into preflower of her sisters too so this is a flowering week.

Responding well to training but I think I was too harsh with this girl early on, she is sending out a lot of pistils now and I am not sure how much she is going to grow. No concerns really I am pushing the limits of what I can do in this space as it is.

@UnorthadoxDude, It will definitely be a good run with those strains. Always good to try new breeders, I'll have to give Sweet Seeds a try at some point too.
@MedicineMaker, thanks! These are the three strains I selected when Sweet Seeds offer to sponsor, if you remember at the time we talked about it. Anyway I have had a look at other people growing these and they look awesome. I am excited to try a new breeder too! It's all experience!
@@justsomedude420, yeah very frosty! I think the most beautiful buds in my current grow are on Temperance the Tropicanna Poision (purple pheno). The Epsilon Adventure diary is much closer to harvest.
