Germination
3y ago
MisterZ Hello, here’s a new outdoor grow. Germination on 07/01/2023. Still using the same technique: 3 seeds ordered during Black Friday, stored in my wine cellar, 12 in lukewarm water then into their 15-liter bag. I add perlite to the soil. I mix 50g of a versatile fertilizer in the upper third of the bags, which works very well. This fertilizer is sold for flowering plants with exactly the same formula. UAB: usable in organic farming.

MisterZ It's been a month since germination. Out of the 3 seeds, one has developed normally, another made a little ball of stem and tangled roots, and the third did not germinate. I mixed 50g of this fertilizer into the top third of a 15l airpot and I'm watering with rainwater without adjusting the pH. https://www.leroymerlin.fr/produits/terrasse-jardin/gazon-plante-potager/engrais/engrais-naturel/engrais-pour-potager-4kg-or-brun-86512762.html One of the advantages of airpots is that the holes allow you to pass a fishing line to make transport easier😀

MisterZ Hello discreet farmer friends The outdoor conditions are good, around 32°C every day, little humidity, and a nice west wind, but we are approaching a certain heatwave. I water it with rainwater, a 5-liter watering can every 48 hours. It takes a lot of time to water an airpot. That's its downside; on the other hand, it holds up better in the ground than a bag. The plant is growing very well. It gains 2 cm per day. I'm afraid this airpot might be a bit small: the stretch is at its maximum and the plant is already 60 cm tall. Outdoors, the expected height is 120 to 150 cm. I haven't applied any techniques. The nutrients built into the soil are really comfortable, and apparently, there are no deficiencies to date. Everything is going well, we can go back to napping like Mister Z.

MisterZ The beginning of the week was very hot. Watering was daily. The conditions are now more favorable. The plant continues to grow. The stretch slowed down to +4cm instead of +12cm last week. It seems early to me, I think the extreme heat at the beginning of the week slowed down the growth.

MisterZ Hello grower friends, This week the weather is cooler and more humid. The stretch is about to end, and the flowers are starting to swell. The leaves seem pale to me, and the plant has already developed well; I'm fearing chlorosis or another deficiency. So, I added a quick fertilizer that's not organic at all but helps to catch up on deficiency situations. M.

MisterZ It's been very hot for a week and it's lasting: around 20 to 34°C, hot wind. I'm watering a lot and it's just enough. The pot is really small for this plant, it needs a pot of about 25 liters. The plant is less pale, I'm going back to normal feeding. For watering, the rhythm is 4 liters every 48 hours. I'm very surprised this plant hardly smells!

MisterZ Hey growers of the occult. The holidays are over😪. The temperatures are milder. Max 25°C. It rains regularly and I'm keeping an eye on mold. I only water with water. The flowers are slowly getting denser.

MisterZ The temperature range is increasing, so there's a risk of morning cold causing mold if humidity persists. Fortunately, the sun and a bit of wind quickly chase away the morning humidity. More diligent monitoring. Watering only with public tap water. Maturity is approaching. The buds are getting denser. This pot is too small for this plant. A 25L pot or larger would have been more suitable. Additionally, air pots are difficult to water, and you need to be very patient.

Développement rapide. Cette plante a une odeur très faible. Les fleurs sont très peu denses. C'est une strain qui a besoin en extérieur d'un pot d'au moins 25l.

MisterZ
MisterZ commented3y ago
@Oldmansmoker, yeah that's what I ended up doing. I placed it under a slanted board during the most threatening rainy days. The problem is that it's more exposed to my neighbors' view. This one has already moved around a lot 😬
MisterZ
MisterZ commented3y ago
@Oldmansmoker, I can't wait to have it back in my bong 😄. I'm really surprised by the little smell it gives off. Even during the heat, you have to be less than a meter away to smell it. It makes it more discreet.

@XII_XII_EarlyRaver, thanks. I also love outdoor growing in all seasons. Critical or Afghani in winter and any other varieties outside of winter. The problem is that my neighborhood has changed and it has become very difficult outside 🤨

I don't know if the weather is as nice where you are as it is in the west of France, but it allows for a longer growing season and helps avoid mold. 🙏🌲✌️
MisterZ
MisterZ commented3y ago
@Dolfom, we have a very nice end of the season in Deux-Sèvres and this plant has really benefited from it. I grow both indoor and outdoor. In winter, I tend to grow Afghan or a Critical in the greenhouse or outside.

@MisterZ, we're from the same department then (79 in force), I'm up North near Mauléon 👍☮️
MisterZ
MisterZ commented3y ago
@Dolfom, and I live in the far south of the department near Beauvoir.
Gruenerfinger85
Now that's what I call thick buds.💪🏽
MisterZ
MisterZ commented3y ago
@Gruenerfinger85, oh yes but outdoors it's the critical moment: high humidity in the morning means the buds are at risk of molding. Mold develops towards the north in the shade and cool. As soon as I can, I turn it 180° so that both sides dry quickly in the sun.
Gruenerfinger85
Gruenerfinger85 commented3y ago
@MisterZ, That sounds logical, but unfortunately, I can't do that with my girls. 😔

👍@MisterZ, happy to hear that! Cannabis oil works very medicinal too. It helps me deal with the chronic pain 👊 (been feeling reallly bad lately but the oil is really helping me, it does not take it all away but i can relax better😎👌)
Dolfom
Dolfom commentedweek 103y ago
It really looks different outdoors, we love it 👍🤤
MisterZ
MisterZ commented3y ago
@Dolfom, yes outside the flowers on the apex are thicker but generally the same plants outdoors produce more leaves. Right now it's raining a lot and there's a big risk of mold at the end of flowering. Outdoors, you absolutely need to position the plants in a wind corridor.
Dolfom
Dolfom commented3y ago
@MisterZ, it's true that the plants are much bushier outdoors, more leaves and different shaped buds. Looks nicer but riskier 🤔☮️
