This is my first auto flower attempt. I believe I have the right genetics for a beginner such as myself.
100% germination rate. I had to help pry their helmets off but other than that, we are cruising now.
I was neglecting to lower my lighting so they suffered from poor light density and stretched. It’s mid summer here so I only had my lights on 20% power. I was going to take July and August off from growing but I couldn’t resist. I still don’t want to pump energy into a AC so I am going to try a bare minimum scenario for lighting in order to keep my temps down.
I lowered my light to help with their stretch and my humidity issues. Now that we are in August, hopefully ambient temps will drop and and my extraction fan won’t be pulling my humidity out so fast.
The light is 6”-12” above TOC. Power is set to 40%. Humidity has been good. I will start adding some flower nutes soon as the plants are starting to show female flowers.
Well into flower now. I had bad probes so my pH was off for a while. Remember to calibrate your pH and EC readers especially if you are experiencing issues in hydro make sure your equipment isn’t lying to you.
Day 47 I cleaned them up and cut the bottoms off.
The one in the back has grown into the lights twice. I cut any stalk back that has a bud touching the lights. In my opinion it seems easier for the plant if you cut a little back every day over 2-3 days instead of all at once.
It looks like two variations of this genetic. The one up front has buds that are stacking and the one in the back has more of a singular golf ball type of bud structure.
Shocked them in about week 4 of flower with too high of nutes. Still proud of the results for my first auto flower grow. Next time will be better in the end.
Nice set-up, very clean
Gonna follow along with this one.
How's the Photonek light doing for u so far? Thinking of buying my first Ledlights but wanna pick a good one of course 😄
Happy growing
@Clutch, If it's summer time and in a tent, I would agree. These lights have enough power that they want to hang higher above the plants than my tent will allow. When the ambient temperatures drop in the winter months, they are perfect for my tent.
@Clutch, Thanks for taking a peek. I love my Photontek. I'm growing in a 5x5' tent and it's plenty for me. I actually run it around 70-75% during flower. Right now It's running at 30%. I did need to lower it because my plants were stretching but at 30% power 12-16 inches above the canopy seems to work just fine. If I ever install a CO2 system then I may take it up to 100% power.
Wow buddy!! super nice buds
What an amazing grow so far - good job and well done 🤝
Happy Growing & cant wait for your upcoming weeks 🌱
Cheers, Bud Boutique 👩🌾
