Mmmm...Apple Fritter

The seedling went into the soil 7 days ago and popped right up. So far, so good. I'm really excited to see how this strain grows! There aren't many Apple Fritter diaries, so this will be one of the few. I'm using FoxFarms soil, so I really won't need to start nutrients until it gets close to flowering. And away we go............

Week 2 has come and gone and this little plant is really taking off. It's nice and green, full, and healthy. I'm just keeping it watered at this point and will probably start LST later this week. I'm debating whether to even start veg nutrients this week, but we'll see how things play out. No use fixing something that ain't broke. Excited to see where we're at next week when things should start getting fun.

This plant continues to impress. It's extremely lush and healthy, and some of the fan leaves are like elephant ears. It's also growing very quickly! I started training on day 17 and she's taking to it very well. The base structure is slowly developing, and everything is spreading out horizontally and evenly. It's looking beautiful so far! I started adding Botanicare Grow this week and will continue using this until flowering in another week or two. This is definitely a fun strain to grow. Until next week.......

Week #4 has come and gone. This little apple fritter plant continues to grow surprisingly fast. I've continued with the lst and have created a nicely spread, horizontal base, which should work nicely as it transitions into the bloom stage. I started to lightly defoliate this week in order to improve air circulation and have noticed within a day I already need to trim again. The leaves are very plush and large, and a perfect green color. This plant's growing fast and I can literally see the growth day to day. I started adding Botanicare Pro Grow nutrients and she's responding very well. The upcoming week should be exciting as I'm anticipating the vertical growth to start taking off. The 5th week has been completed and this lady has continued with her rapid growth. She's extremely lush and healthy, during the transformation into the flowering stage. It has a nice base structure with the help of lst and am having to trim and defoliate regularly. I'm trying to trim fan leaves to keep the center open for air flow and light penetration, but every morning it's grown back and needs to be trimmed again, which is always fantastic. She's also been drinking roughly a liter and a half a day through this period. You can almost see her grow in real-time. I've switched to the Botanicare Pro Bloom nutrients for the transition and flowering stages. She seems to be responding very well to these nutes. I'm not planning on changing anything for this upcoming week (knock on wood.) Thanks for checking my diary out!

Today is day 42 of this Apple Fritter plant from Royal Queen Seeds. This plant/strain continues to impress. The growth is incredible. She's grown almost a foot over the past week alone. The colas are forming nicely and are spread out evenly. I'm defoliating a little bit every couple of days to maintain good airflow and she seems to be responding as well as I could hope. I've slowly increased the Botanicare nutes to 25ml/gallon and she's been gulping it down. The next couple of weeks should be very interesting. I'm travelling out of town this week, so everything will be on autopilot with timers and watering pumps. Last but not least, the smell is incredible and getting stronger. I went on vacation this past week and when I returned, my plant had turned into a bush. It's growing incredibly fast and filling out very nicely! It has a beautiful, healthy green color and the many colas are forming perfectly. I'll be defoliating and trimming it up today, to keep the air flow unabated. I've been sticking with the Botanicare nutrients (which are fantastic) and will probably give it a boost this week with some GH FloraNova Bloom. Otherwise, I'm just going to leave her alone and let her do her thing. I've got high expectations for this plant ✊

This plant continues to grow at a very fast pace. The smell has exploded over the past 2 weeks and it has a very pungent, cheese-like smell. It's very strong and spreads throughout the house, which is really nice. Lots of colas formed and are starting to get big, frosty, and sticky. I gave her a boost with the GH FloraNova Bloom followed by only water for a couple of days. I'm trying to push the growth but don't want to end up with nutrient burn. I'll ease back into the Botanicare this week and give her another trim. She fills back up immediately after I defoliate, so I know she's healthy. That's it for the week.

I'm a couple of days late on this week's update, but everything has been moving along steadily. I was out of town for a few days and everything was on auto pilot. When I returned, I immediately got hit with the smell when walking in the door. It's a thick funky smell and hits the nose hard. My sense of smell sucks, but it seems to me like old cheese. Whatever the smell is, it's good news. The buds are slowly filling out and based on other Apple Fritter diaries I've been reviewing, the buds really start fattening up over the last couple of weeks. A guestimate for harvest would be 3-4 weeks. I stuck with Botanicare this week alone. Some of the tips are burnt, so I'll be starting to ease back on nutrients going forward. Nothing too exciting this week. The buds are slowly bulking up. I'm easing back on the nutrients and leaving her alone. She's giving off a strong cheese smell which is very pungent! I'm going to keep letting her run this upcoming week.

Another week in the books. She continues to put on weight and the branches are starting to bend with the weight of the buds. I've been tying them up one-by-one and now have a spiderweb of string running through them holding them up. The smell is incredible, even though it triggers my allergies a bit. I hit it again with a blast of the FloraNova Bloom one last time, followed by a couple of days of plain water. I then went back to a mild dose of the Botanicare. I may hit once more with the stronger FN Bloom before harvest, which is still a few weeks away.

It looks like we're coming into the final week. The buds continue to put on weight and are completely bending their branches under the weight. I had to re-string to keep the branches up as best I could while trying to keep the center open for air circulation. The buds are looking beautiful and the smell is unreal. It's got a heavy cheese and earthy smell. The trichomes are turning cloudy, with some tips beginning to show amber. I finished with the nutrients and will be sticking with straight water to get a good flush over the next week. Harvest is planned for week 13.

Finally harvested at day 90. This past week was spent flushing followed by 24 hours in darkness with no water. As I cut the twine supporting the branches, it totally bent over to the ground from the weight. It was totally top-heavy. I did a quick wet trim and have hung up in a dark closet to dry and let the chlorophyl break up. The smell while trimming was unbelievable. Very heavy, pungent cheese-like smell. After drying these will be going into mason jars to cure for 30 days, at which point I'll be able to get a final weight and give a smoke review!!

This was a very easy strain to grow. I simply watered once a day and it did the rest. Total time from seed to harvest was 90 days. Growing doesn't get any easier than with Apple Fritter.
