Hi this is my first grow and harvest in nearing and im getting nervous about a possible deficiency or pest problem i may be having. I've been noticing little brownish tan spots and dots randomly throughout my plants i was told mag deficiency and i started using epsom salts but i continue to see new dots appear on new leafs. Im growing outdoors in miricale gro organic potting soil. Southern US, so lots of humidity and heat. I just switched to bloom nutes as it has been around a month since they first showed preflowers. Im currently using Alaskan Kelp Fertilizer 2tbs per gal, epsom salts 1 tea spoon per gal, and a 9-58-10 fertilizer i picked up from a nursery near me about a teaspoon per gallon. I make 2 gallons of Nute water and dispense evenly between my 8 plants and follow up with a gallon of water per plant. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Weird leaf problems are usually pH related, check it and adjust to the correct level. The tiny spots might be bug relaterd too, not unusual in outdoor growing.

Hello @RealOAK5. That is a calcium deficiency.I also see something that could be a manganese deficiency or spider mites.Have you checked the plant for bugs and what soil you use? If the soil you are using is the soil that was already existing to your garden it is very very possible that is lucking calcium and other micro nutrients especially if you have used it in the past, either for cannabis or any other plant. If that's the case then you have to add a cal/mag product. If the problem was the PH then you should also have had a magnesium deficiency too as these to tend to lock out at the same range of PH. I also don't think the depth has nothing to do. I have seen huge outdoor plants growing at depth of 50cm. Roots can also develop horizontally. Also next time you should consider to use a more balanced fertilizer. Happy growing ! 👊

hey there! i have tthe same thing happening on my outdoor plant too. basically its just the normal things that happen when you have an outdoor plant. Just be super careful outdoor with bugs, check especially under the leaves for signs of pest. get up in there on the flowers to make sure the bud lice don t make a home in there. i see you're using kelp; that's cool i do too, but the thing is it changes your PH, so what happens is every time you add that the PH is off which can cause fluctuations and cause the same sort of symptoms that you're seeing. Dial in that PH and you wont see any new leaves being effected.

@Mrs_Larimar, Im kind of hesitant to use it now as i just purchased it a few weeks ago and now some problems are popping up. Its a straight chemical looks like little blue crystals. the person at the nursey strongly recommended it for most blooming vegetables and herbs so i thought why not. ill try cutting it from the regimen and see if anything improves.

i added more soil on the mounds and there is no concrete slab underneath. Its soil for about 6 inches then clay. I feed once a week i dont have a ph monitor but i use filtered water from my faucet which i replaced the filter for this grow. I made it this far without testing ph but it seems like they are getting alot more pickier now.

Thanks for all the help I'm going to get a jewelers loupe and look closer at the dots. My plants are so small though I see everyone else who's growing outdoors with their 6 feet tall monsters that are bigger than 2 or 3 of my plants combined lol. How much do y'all think I will harvest off of these? 8 plants total the ones next to the Dr pepper bottle are the biggest about 4 feet wide 4 feet tall the rest are smaller 2x2 and what not.

Hi @RealOAK5! This could be: 1/ Roots related issue: root-bound, root-rot. 2/ Calcium deficiency. 3/ Manganese deficiency. The last two options could come from a wrong pH, are you applying the optimal pH range for your plants (6.0~6.5)? This can also come from a nutrient-lockout / salt-buildup. Do you check the EC of your feedings? How often do you feed and how often do you give plain pH'd water? Now for the 1st option about roots, is your garden deep enough for roots to spread? Do you have a concrete slab under the medium, if so at what depth? Let's investigate all together and I'm confident we will find a solution. Happy growing 👊
