Grow Diary: AMATEUR Northern Light 250W 2x4 - Week 3 Flowering Begin 25.09.2023 🌼 Strain: Northern Light Linda Seeds 💡 Lighting: 250W LED Grow Light 80% 37cm away from plant = around everywhere 800ppfd & 34 DLI (the light is really good, and the spreading is really even!) 🌡️ Temperature and Humidity: 24°C (Day) / 18°C (Night), 45-50% rH Weekly Update - Week 3 of Flowering: In this week, my Northern Light grow continues to progress, but the buds are still forming, and the plant is stretching upwards. Here are the key highlights: 🌷 Flower Progress: The flowering buds continue to develop, and the plant is still stretching upwards. The buds are gradually taking shape, and I'm looking forward to the coming weeks as they further mature. 🌡️ Temperature and Humidity: Temperature readings remain consistent at 24°C (day) and 18°C (night), with relative humidity ranging between 45-50%. These conditions are ideal for the flowering phase and contribute to the overall health of my plant. 🌱 Nutrients and pH: The pH of my nutrient mix remains stable at 6.3, and the EC (Electrical Conductivity) is at 0.8. next time just water tho Gnat Issue: Unfortunately, I've noticed a minor issue with gnats (fungus gnats). I'm actively addressing this problem by keeping the soil dry and using yellow sticky traps to catch the gnats. I hope to see improvements in the coming days. i will also give them some neemoil to fix the problem 💡 Lighting: The LED grow light provides a PPFD (Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density) of 800 and a DLI (Daily Light Integral) of 34. These light values are ideal for the flowering phase and promote bud growth. I'm eager to see what the upcoming weeks hold as my Northern Light plant continues to flower, and the buds progress further. Stay tuned for more updates and photos!

cannabis can take a high DLI even from a seedling. 40 is about average for what they get in a day. I'd say keep it aounrd 40, could always drop it down a bit if you notice signs of light stress then increase it again later when it bigger. The 5.5 PH is an issue, Its just to low. I would aim for anywhere between 6-6.5. this way if it swings outside of the desired PH range it has buffer room. Right now if it gets lower then 5.5 is really going to put a bummer on the roots. You can increase the PH of the water going into the plant by adding PH up. Potassium hydroxide. Or adding in more calcium or an alkalizing agent into the medium. My last grow in Peat moss and perlite had something wrong with it and it kept dropping in PH uncontrollably. I had to bump my waters PH upto aorund 9.0 for it to normalize. Something, most likely a bacteria was in the medium acidifying everything. Red stems can be a symptom of phosphorus deficiency. This is most likey caused by the PH being so low. http://www.plantsgalore.com/care/images/Nutrient-availability.jpg this chat can give you a bit of a visual of how available plant nutrients are in different PH ranges. Given that you are in a biobizz lght mix "peat based medium" and using Biobizz nutrients I would flush the medium with a high PH to normalize it and then issue a smaller feed after its drained and settled. Use a TDS/EC pen to confirm its concentration is not to high and that the PH is back within range. Given that the PH will most likey swing down again keep an eye on it and adjust as needed. This might be a weekly thing for this grow. Hopefully not. Congrats on nailing the VPD. You should also Calibrate your PH and EC pens to confirm your readings are accurate before proceeding with any troubleshooting. Best Of Luck!

i still have deficiencies and it seems to worsen despite runoff being 6.5. purple stems, light green? yellow appearance slow growth, some leafs get purple, lower leafs get yellowish and die. what do you think how long could it take until they are healthy again?

could be genetic -- red strips in stems are sulfur deficiency realted. the purple in leaves is likely genetics or cold temperatures, likely at night. paling at bottom and moving up is N-deficiency. new growth having internveinal chlorosis could be too much p or k. but purple petioles can b related to low P. so, i'd wager you ar eout of balance on your feed. use a leaf chart. it's not 1:1 .. it is messy translating these things. several relativistic factors are relevant. Leaf chart / mulder's chart can help understand it. if ph is good, i'd rais your N portion of feed for sure. are you soilless? i never know what the biotab stuff is.. comes amended a abit? this is much easier in a soilless or hydro context, because we provide 100% of everything, so there's no guessing what is in the substrate when these thigns occur. you know what is in it. soilles 120-130 ish ppm N 50ish P 180-200 K 100+ Ca 50-80ish Mg 110 or ower for S this will be a good starting point, if soilless/hydro. it's more of a 7-8-15 or 8-8-15 weighted ratio of NPK. this mimics themost fertile soils in teh world, this is why reserached nutes have a similar ratio. (southern ag, jr peters, masterblend etc.. all have a 3 part system based on the same science) ... not some dope postulating in their small garden.

@Seedler, Thanks dude! That is a great route too! I lost my nerves and the vpd out of the window 😂 It could have been better not to panic and just increasing RH🙈 Thanks for the reminder! No worries about being high buddy! not here😂😂

@Herbie101, that sounds good and should do at least help in some degree with the heat. for me since i don't had silica on hand i tried to match the rH to the high heat (sometimes as hot as 40 degrees Celsius) so my VPD is still matching so the plant can evaporate enough water to not die haha. so for 40 Celsius i had to go over 65% rH in flower wich was really risky because of mold so i had to try to get optimal airflow and having good airflow, in a rectangular grow tent isn't as easy as it sounds because it needs to be below and above the canape and you have to be sure hot air gets taken away from the plants on not your vents blowing the hot air from the lights onto the plant or something like that. Silica would have saved me some hustle with the heat stress. ah yeah my plant hermied because of the heat stress but she grew so much in that time because i pushed the max out of the vpd it was okay and i just had a few seeds. So yeah not much to say about outdoor since in ever did that. maybe it helps somewhere in the future bro (: (and sorry im high af haha)

@Seedler, Yeah it was unreal! I stopped trying fo fight it and used silica and co2 for my plants and i had the impression that it helped quite a bit. What are your best strategies to fight the heat? Any tips are welcome 😁
