Hi growmies! Zengrower here with a new diary of a beautiful purple strain from 42FastBuds ☘️
Since I believe in second chances I decided to give the Fastberry another go. Had to abort the last grow and I do want to grow a nice purple strain this summer. Ultimate goal is to make some tasty purple rosin from 50% of the harvest and dry&trim the rest of the buds. Let's see if we can make this lady shine 😍
For this grow I'm using Bio Tabs, my favorite nutrient line thusfar. The soil is enriched with Lava soil and wormcastings to create a vibrant little ecosystem. The seed popped within 2 days, just like all the 42FastBuds strains I grew this year. Very good genetics indeed! The greenhouse turns out to be really good environment for the autoflowers. They don't grow too tall and I don't need to darken the greenhouse every day to force the blooming.
The Fastberry is growing well. It needed some support yesterday as she tipped over (maybe due to the fan that I have removed a day earlier). This was easily fixed by adding some extra soil around the stem. Now it's upright and happy once again. Because of the cool weather I have to be careful with the watering, just adding a little bit in the morning and checking up on her at the end of the day. At this stage it's easy to drown the little sapling.
More pics and updates later this week!
The Fastberry is growing steady and strong! Last week I noticed one weird looking leaf, but turned out there was a spider in the greenhouse that was doing a little LST on the plant 😅. Stay tuned for more updates and pics!
The upside of growing in a greenhouse is that you also get friendly visitors to your plants like the butterfly I found this morning ☘️
I was in doubt if this week should be vegetation or flowering. The early signs of bloom are already showing which is pretty fast. Then again, it's probably why they called her Fastberry 😊. She looks strong and healthy, no signs of purple though, but let's see what happens once the blooming kicks in 😃
Mid-week update: Hmm, I might have overwatered her a bit 😐. One of the leafs started to look a bit curly and weird. I'll turn down the watering for a few days and give the soil a chance to dry. Looking at the leafs it looks like this strain isn't really that resistant to overwatering. Making a mental note to be more careful with watering 💦 in the future when growing this strain
While this week should have been the first blooming week, the Fastberry doesn't show that much signs of blooming really. I might have set her back by overwatering so let's wait and see how she develops over the coming week. After holding back on the watering for a few days I can see the leafs are no longer curling. Stay tuned for more updates!
Looks like the Fastberry finally started blooming 🎉 The calyxes are nice and purple already and the buds are starting to appear. I'm watering every other day. I carefully lift the pot to check if the soil is dry enough. The plant doesn't have too many side branches but I'm aiming for a nice big main cola.
The Fastberry is growing beautiful little purple buds and looks really happy. I'm very careful about watering and lift up the pot each morning to check if I need to water the plant. Stay tuned for more pics and updates later this week!
The Fastberry is looking really well. The leafs are turning into dark purple, almost black tones. The flowers are not as dense as her Amnesia sisters, but this is a good thing as autumn is coming and dense buds are more susceptible to mold at this point. stay tuned for more pics later this week ✌️☘️
Unfortunately the plant had mold issues. It was a late summer grow so I knew it would be tricky if I could harvest her on time. This summer was very cold, wet and challenging even when growing in a greenhouse. This strain is beautiful to look at, a little sensitive to overwatering, but all in all a great strain to grow again.
