Tent and system are cleaned and ready to go from my last grow. I have submitted my Journa for the Diary of the Month Competition here is to hopeing for good resutls.
7/28/2023- Germination Day 0- Seed initiation
Well lets get this new Grow started.. So My Dad Sent me a custom Strain that he wanted me to grow out and Breed for him. The Strain is Called Red Rhino:
Red Rhino is an amazing strain coming from Israel and boasts a 60% Sativa and a 40% Indica. This strian comes from crossing double gum and master kush. Effects are an increased appetite, as well as giving you ephoric feelings throughout the whole day.

Popped her head above the root riot today to say hello.. Woot first challenge when dealing with an unknown seed and a new Strain is getting the seed to pop and the lady to show life.
8/2/2023- Germination Day 2
Took the root riot out today and it was soaked not good plant drowing again. I am still having a hard time finding the right blance for where the water should be to keep the root riot moist and not soaked. I had to drain some of the water out of the root riot plug to help give a little oxygen. I also removed some of the water.

Fell over today I am worried.., she is showing some damage on the lower leaves from the over watering in the cloning machine but right now I don't see any new damage.
Supported the Stems with little improvised pole to help her stand up.

Everything is looking good the roots are making their way to the water and the new grow is looking nice and green.

Everything is right on track, they are looking beautiful and in the praying position all leaves happily lifting towards the light.

A little worried today her birth Twin the BA I am growing out is looking great and is raised towards the light and this one is just slightly under.. Will keep an eye on Her.
Week 1 Day 5- 8/16/2023
Walked in and the humidity was under 60.... ohh noooooo.. So I added 2 humidifiers to the tent and attached them to my InkBird controller which is set to 62.
Also looking at the roots and she has some poking out the bottom but just not in the water yet.. Luckily we are set for 14 days before next water change so the system will stay stable and her sister already has roots in the water so she should only be a day or two behind.. we will just keep tracking but she is delayed.

Humidity was a little low this morning so I refilled the humidifiers. Other than that the temp looks great, the PH looks good, the PPM looks good the plant is in the praying position and all damage from the little drowning from over filling the cloning machine seems to have been fixed. Happy Happy.
Week 1 Day 7- 8/18/2023
Yay.. week 1 in the books, roots in the water growth has started. Everything for growth and environment is looking good and on track, there are a couple of mutations with this Lady will keep an eye on those leaves.
IMO this grow is going A lot during this week 1 then week 1 of the last grow when I had them drowning.
Really excited on how this grow is going to come out.

She really does look great today. More roots are finding their way out of the basket and into the water, looks like I might be able to give her, her first top soon. Humidity is still running just a little low, I am making sure I keep a close eye on the humidifiers and added more water as needed.
Week2 Day 2- 08/20/2023
She is definitely a mutant, I was having a hard time deciding if I could Top her and if I did, where, since she is so closed up still. Found one side node that looked promising to let it spread out and not compact in harder from the cut. Hopefully the topping will help induce a rapid growth like her sister and spread her out a little bit more. She got her first hair cut today.

She is absolutely growing but with the mutations not outwardly exploding, the root ball is starting to form very nicely.
She overall looks really happy to me. I will just continue to observe and do what feels right in regard to methodologies as she grows.

she is looking great.. From me thinking she wouldn't make it to me having to support the stem and hand drip water.. I didn't think this little Mutant would make it but she is doing great, lets see what we can do with her over this grow.

What more can you say then I am proud of my little mutant.. she is taking to the system well, still not much I can do with her. Small tops in awkward spots.

Not much to report today, her growth is going great. Looks nice and comfortable, Saturday Water Change day. Tomorrow I will get all of her end of week measurements for height and all.
Week2 Day 7 - 08/25/2023
Week 2 is officially in the bag, my little mutant is now at 6 and just right at a 1/2 inch tall. The Rate of growth is showing she might need the full additional 6 weeks of Veg, but depending on continued growth of her sister, she might not be able to get the time and need to go to flower a little on the small side in 4-5 weeks. We will see how it goes but she is looking great and the root structure is looking great! Humidity is still a little low I added water to the Humidifiers and adjusted the input air flow down slightly. I also turned on the 4th fan to increase circulation in the tent.

Topped her a little, and started cleaning up the lower 1/3, I am starting with the fan leaves that are touching the clay and some of the lower, lower portion but leaving the stems for when I take clones.

The temp has been getting to 79-80 the last few days and I don't like it that high. I lowered the light to 29 inches and decreased intensity to reach the 350ppfd for the plants. By dropping the light it should also drop the temperature.
I took a few bottom leaves as I start my clean up, leaving the lower stems for clone material for now.

Found out why the temp had been getting so high in my tent and my grow room, the controller for my other light for my other tent was malfunctioning and overheating. I guess this was the unknown contributing factor to the sudden increase in temp, how am I sure about this, because the light no work no more. I am working with Spider-Farmer Warranty since the light was under a year old, very sad day yesterday was to replace my SE 7000 on my breeding plant which was in week 9 of flower with a VS2000 I am thinking I am going to have to cut my losses.
On a good note she looks Amazing full on Growth Spurt happening, I adjusted the PH up slightly to get it from 5.81, to 5.89.
Tomorrow Measurements incoming.

I took out some of the Mutant leaves today and she is starting to look normal. A little on the small side but Normal! I also took a few Tops, and FiMmed one top.

Today I added an additional .25mil/gal of CalMag at the 36 gallons I filled the system to. My Red Rhino was showing some slight indications that the CalMag might need to be bumped up. I will watch the leaves closely.

I had some issues today! My grow room AC unit went out and the room got up to 82 and water temp got up to 78. I put in fans and got the room cooled down to around 74 and put ice in the water and was able to get that down to 74. I put in a warranty request we will see I am now over the last two weeks down a main grow light and my Ac unit.. LOL!! That is a grower's life. I took a couple of top's and I took a few lower leaves.

Getting things ready to take clones so I got my second system almost all the way setup today. I am still sanitizing the Air Stones and the last of the Hydroton from the last Grow.

Still working on getting my second system completely setup, sanitized and raise dup. The last couple of days with the Room AC out has been a bit difficult keeping things cool but I have been managing to keep the water around 73-74 buy putting ice bottles in the Res. Received an email that the new AC unit shipped yesterday, so just a few more days of ice in the bucket as needed.

Took a lot of lower leaves in prep for cloning still leaving the lower and internal stems, thinking I might finish getting my cloning machine up today or tomorrow and start taking clones tomorrow, I was hoping to have my replacement light before I cut my clones. Spider-Farmer said that the department that handles warranty replacements is working on sending it to me.

I decided that I wanted to take clones tonight. I took 4 of each and I will cull 2 of each in a few weeks when they are ready, I am going to do a short breeding run with these, Reverse them and Flip them at about week 3 of Veg.

I took the fan leaves that were blocking those beautiful bud sites from light.. Such will be my life every time I enter the tent for the rest of the grow. The clones all have roots coming from the rapid rooter, I am feeling really good that by Sunday they will be ready for selection and planting.

Heavy Trim below the skirts and thinning out was needed. Found some branches that were inner and lower that would not produce any good buds and I removed them. I also thinned out the leaves to try and open up as many bud sites as possible to as much of the light as possible.

I setup my PH automation system.. I will start it running in 24 hours after the system settles in.

Going to be interesting.. I left the old monitor in to do a double check behind the new auto PH monitor.. not eh problem is I configured the New one and I am pretty sure that it is more accurate than the previous one I was using but the difference is 5.9 on the new one and 6.19 on the old. So it leaves me to questions if I was always running my PH higher but still just within safe range? or is this one off by that much. Questions, Questions.. But so far it is working I had to make several adjustments to dial in how much of each gets released but right now they are sitting around 5.9

Worked on adjusting the auto PH system and I think I will need to change out some of the gear to make it work better.. Right now the suction/ flow rate has to be up to high in order to get the Up or down out of the Containers and the UP kicks on before the Down has a chance to settle.. I would have hoped there is a steady reading for X seconds before it starts the other.. but there isn't it is automatically kicking off the Up even while it is still adjusting from adding Down.

Today I did nothing but take some pics.. Nice day.. the experiment of the PH auto system is a bust as of right now.. the range is out of what I want.. and it keeps immediately kicking off without giving the water time to balance.. since this is a res system which the water moves.. not the best.. it doesn't have a wait time before release more.. and it keeps releasing even after it starts reading in range.. so it drops it lower than it should.. I could probably dilute the PH up and Down and make it a little more effective.. but not sure what I want to do at this point.

Well the Trichome check this morning settles it, She need more time.. So with that said.. Must deploy my Contingency Strategy that I designed just incase I ran into this Scenario, biggest worry fluctuation of the PH level as the water goes down over the week..
1. Change water Tomorrow as Schedule and enter Week 9 Nutes- Instead of 36gallons add 46-48 gallons
2. Balance system to 6.0
3. Check PH on Sunday Morning balance to 6.0
4. Check PH on Sunday evening before getting on road balance to 6.0
5. Hope everything looks good when I get back.
Week 9 Day 1 11/18/2023
Water Change Day!! So she wasn't ready... I am going to have to leave her this week while I am on this Trip.. I did buy this system with this in mind if I needed to take a trip that it would be self-sustaining.. but I also was hoping to have an auto PH system fine tuned and working but that didn't work out. LOL!! So here I am, filling the buckets almost to the top, hitting the basket on this one.
We will see what happens over the week.. Changed the water PH balanced it.. will check it in the morning then again before I get on the road. I am shooting for a perfect 6.0 for PH before I walk out the door.. that should keep it in range for the week as the plants eat.

This is it Vacation time last pics until week 10..... so gone for a full week.. Have the PH set to 6.02, I will check it one more time before I get on the road and make any last min adjustments but here is to all going right while on vacation. With that I am going to pre-load the rest of the week.. it is easy when you know what the routine is going to be.. LOL!!

Walked in the door, dropped everything and rushed in to check on the ladies, it was past lights out so I couldn't check on the plants but checked on the pH. The PH was down to 5.19... noooooo..I adjusted it to 6.0 and crossed my fingers the plants looked good, will check on them in the morning.

Well She looked great and I think she is ready for Chop, Chop, so debating the 48 hours of darkness, or chopping today.. so going to get some breakfast and give it a think.
Afternoon update:
So I gave it a think and I decided to do a split harvest this run. I took the top half and left the bottom half to mature for another week.
I did run out of hooks so I was forced to freeze dry some and will have that to try in 48 hours. The problem is that I will have to remember the weights that I get when I get the final harvest and all the numbers but since I am doing a split harvest anyways it will be three sets of numbers to track over the next few weeks.

Got my first little bit out of the freeze dryer and trimmed up: I got 48 grams of bud and 7.4grams of shake. Smoke is smooth will see what kind of high comes with it..
