Seeds have been started in the paper towel on may 2nd, they sprouted about 2-3 days later, and by May 8th they were in solo cups ready to start their journey :)
This week was a rush, we transplanted into 10 gallon pots after the leafs stretched out past the edges of the pots, after that I gave them a few days to recover from any transplant shock, and followed up by topping them both on the 1st of June; Aswell as removing some fan leaves on the the 3rd that were blocking major growth sites. They both seem to be growing fine as if nothing happened :)
This week was fun to watch, almost stressful because we’ve just been waiting for them to bounce back :)
Every second watering I’ve been feeding a small amount of cal mag (1-2ml/L)
Things were going extremely well, but I tried too hard to help the plant when I should have let it do it’s thing,
I’m not 100% sure what caused the lighter colouring/burning in the leafs,
I had attempted to make a tea, I mixed organic amendments like Bat guano, worm castings, alfalfa meal, kelp meal, biochar, and 6.5PH water, I let it sit for a few days without aeration, and I was watering my plants with it, so it could either be some sort of feeding issue,
Or it could be from spraying neem on them too often.. I tried to stick to spraying near lights out, but maybe I mixed the neem oil too strong and it was too thick on the plants leaf’s for them to breathe,
Either way the lesson learned is, don’t do too much.
Spray a little neem, sprinkle a little organic amendments… the plant will do the work.
Usually less is more :)
After a week of slow growth, the progress is starting to pick back up,
In an effort to save the plant I had flushed the soil twice back to back.
I also defoliated certain weaker lower growths to focus more growth on the main tops,
And lightly misted those tops with plain water to clean off any excess neem that might’ve caused the issue.
Making sure to increase the airflow while the plants were wet^
This week was stressful but redeeming, the plants slowly started to bounce back from the issues I was having. By the start of July I was on the right track again, and that’s when I decided I was going to switch into flower.
This week was so satisfying to be able to watch, my soil seems to be doing great now, I switched my light to the Mars Hydro TS3000 and I’m in a fairly small tent so I’ll have plenty of light :)
The plants seem to be loving it!
At this point I’m just focused on giving them 6.5PH water at the right time, and training the plants so that each bud site will revive even amounts of lighting
Putting ice on top of the soil during the mornings that I’m going to water them,
Colours seem to be popping like crazy already, the last two weeks should be fun!
