Well I have been trying to upload this for a while now and looks like grow diaries finally fixed the problem 😆 Fastbuds Ztrawberriez Auto is what this diary will be about. I have increased the size of my net pots from 3in to 6in. in search of bigger plants. I planted 1 seed directly into about 10 rapid rooter cubes that I ripped up and surrounded them with hydroton. Seed sprouted in 2-3 days. I always do the set and forget method for about 2-3 weeks and this is why I give it some nutrients off the bat so I do not have to disturb the root zone until they show signs of hunger.
Everything is going smoothly and everything is untouched since sowing the seed into the rapid rooters. Each day the growth is exponential. Hoping to get through the first several weeks unscathed. This one is living up to the "fast" buds name.
With germination week down and 1st week of vegetation in the books I am entering into the third week and couldnt be happier.. In the past when I have a plant skip 3 fingered leaves and go straight to 5 for its second set of fan leaves I wind up with a super nice plant in the end. Still havent touched the reservoir since day 1 .. just waiting for signs of hunger at this point before I add some fresh nutes.
What's up y'all.. Moving into week 3 of veg looking pretty solid so far. This will be day 21 and no sign of any pistols yet. Growing vigorously since last week. I did a partial res change a few days ago which may have been slightly too hot even at a measly 300 ppm. I experienced maybe a day of stunted growth and some leaf curling but after several days it sorted itself out as I assume the roots needed to recover from slight shock. Main stem is very thick but I should be able to still bend down the top before the stems stiffen up.
**Update - I suffered a little light burn since this thing wants to be so tall so soon and I accidently hit my bloom switch along with the veg switch .... Anyways I tied her down a bit to create a nice flat canopy.
Well not much new to update.. its day 28 and shes going through her preflower growth spurt. Definitely a vertical grower and looking more Sativa dominant than Indica. I keep tying her down though, so hopefully I can keep it under control.
All is good, not perfect. The stretch is insane with this one. You have to be ready for it. I have tied down multiple times already but it continues to stretch too close to my lights causeing heat stress on itself. I raised my light to the ceiling and will add a fan to help a bit. Looking forward to when it stops stretching! lol
Here we go into week six! Had a little trouble this week since my pH meter crapped out on me. I could tell my nutes were locked out since the ppms spiked. Plant was only consuming water. Issued is fixed so decline in fan leaves will hopefully stop. Other than that the plant is doing great and growing like a weed. I'm still getting a good bit of stretch and have pretty much outgrown this 24x48x60' tent. I am supposed to be getting a larger tent in a few days so I will have much more room to spread her out. Im thinking itll look pretty awesome after I lst it one more time. Stay tuned
Big Bertha seems to have stopped stretching thankfully. Time for her to start eating some p&k burgers to fatten up. Definitely having several issues with this one. It seems to be isolated to under my P300 LED light. Anything not directly under the p300 looks a little better.
So I went on a 4 day vacation and came back to a very thirsty wilted plant. My nozzles clogged on me while I was gone so it was receiving no water for who knows how long. Hoping to turn this grow around and produce some decent buds…. We will see! Pretty disappointed when I came back to see it so stressed out.. it was a monster plant, just too many hiccups for an auto flower so I imagine quality and yield will take a hit.
Things seem to be back on track. Got the pH locked in around 6.12 and ppms hovering around 600. Seeing some good growth. I'd chop the fan leaves that got nuked during my period of wilt to make her look better but I feel like any little extra nutrients or photosynthesis these leaves can assist with would help. They seem to be falling off naturally as is.
Bouncing back nicely after the period of drought. Buds starting to fatten up a bit, smell is insanely strong and sweet at the same time, and very sticky. Introducing some overdrive and pushing my ppms a bit trying to find her sweetspot. Currently at 670ppm 6.2ph.
**Update: Defoliated all the leaves that were toast from her period of wilt. Looking much better. Buds are fattening and ripening quick at this point. Trichomes are mostly cloudy. Ill give her one more full week of flower time then begin my flush for a few days and chopchop.
Looking closer and closer to being finished with this one.. I lowered the ppms down to 600. May need to go lower most the tops look like they are finishing up. This one is pretty massive filling my 5x5 tent pretty good and the root production out of this 6" net cup is pretty gnarly. Definitely not lacking any quality either. Buds smell delicious and are super sticky.
Another week down and things just keep getting better and better with this one. Big fat buds laced in resin and the smell is soooo good and strong! Very strawberry-like with a ton of gas that my carbon filter is doing a poor job of covering up. Oh well, smells good. :)
I will start flushing about mid way through its growing week and then chop shortly after. It’s getting so close to finished I’m just waiting for more amber. I’m mostly cloudy right now.
I did sample a bit and its good stuff for sure. Was easy to grow, grew massive with large yields, and withstood some severe drought stress without much decrease in yield or quality if any..
The growth cycle is quick. I used a much bigger netcup size than I normally do which produced a much bigger rootzone/plant. Even with the larger size auto it still finished up quick. 5 weeks veg 8 weeks flower. Grows more like a Sativa than indica. Grows tall so LST is a must if you dont have much space. Quality is on par with regular seeds. Strong terpenes and high THC content. A+ auto.
@SkunkleDamo, Those older lower leaves were light stressed for a few days when I accidently had both my veg and bloom switches on. New growth is good! I did just up the nutes earlier today.
Oh no the poor thing.
I hope you turned her around. I am now in week 6 of flower (63 day from sprout) and she is lovely. The best auto so far for me. Bud structure is beautiful.
You'll sort it and be rewarded 💦
