2/2 popped today. Bean popping protocol is one day in a glass of water, then the next day when they sink to the bottom with a little tap, they go directly into substrate. Half peat half seedling mix.
The little plants got up-potted. Gave them microbes and a nice watering when putting them in their new homes. I like the leaf size and finger development and the height is also excellent.
Oh baby, the girls are in the ground! More microbes and some rooting hormone sprinkled in their transplant holes. Hoping Mother Nature teaches them some things but also protects them!
Growing tall and the leaves are growing wide and large, can't ask for much more. Minimal bite marks from insects and other pests so also happy with that. Probably will let them go a bit more before topping or fimming.
The girls got FIMed, seem to be growing well and look healthy enough to do it. Starting to give them some Fox Farm Grow Big along with some Mykos microbes. Sunny days and high humidity from the nearby lake should give these girls a nice grow season.
The FIM seems to have worked well and the girls rebounded well. Big healthy fan leaves and a nice shade of green. Plenty of rain giving them all the water they need!
Starting to get that signature green smell when you open the "greenhouse" door. Branching out well, trunk starting to thicken up nicely, leaves still growing in fat and staying a rich green color.
Filling out the 'greenhouse' nicely, I think the girls are big and strong enough to not need any help from the ground plants in there, I'll clear out the floor next visit up.
The girls have entered the flowering stage and are showing some very nice pre bud structures and sites. Starting to slowly incorporate the bloom feed from Fox Farm until I eventually use only the bloom.
Buds are looking delicious and frosty. Very dank, skunky, and sweet aromas from the plants. Plan is a halloween harvest, but that's of course up to Mother Nature.
Twenty20's Made of Honor seemed to love southern Michigan's weather! I unfortunately do not live right next to the greenhouse, so more often than not, it was Mother Nature taking care of the two girls. With myself watering weekly and around semi-weekly feedings of Xtreme Gardening Azos and Fox Farm veg/bloom nutrients, they seemed to grow tremendously. The phenotype features buds fairly spread out from another, helping keep mold away, I only encountered one branch with a small mold patch on it the whole grow; insects were of little issue as well, growing inside a structure really helps. The smells are very sweet and gassy, and the buds look frosted as ever -- as do my gloves after harvest! My drying barn is a bit more humid than I'd like, so I trimmed fan leaves and hung branch sections around some fans so hopefully they dry at a good pace. Didn't have time to wash all the buds, so we'll compare washed vs unwashed buds; not too concerned as my wash buckets had almost no dirt at all. Scales coming in a couple weeks!
Easy to grow! Hard to find all the room to hang up the harvest! The weather for the upcoming week/s looks atrociously rainy, so I figured they've grown enough, I don't want to risk mold. It's my first true outdoor grow so I'm more than grateful for the results thus far. Fingers crossed for a slow and even dry, and no mold grossness when I crack open buds during trim jobbin'. Updates soon!
3.25 Dry weight on the scales! Buds look like classic outdoor flower and are covered in trichomes. 17 day hang dry in the barn has the smoke very smooth.
