Grow Questions

deadstockgeneticsstarted grow question 6 years ago
Just noticed roots are JUUUUST starting to touch the bottom of my 1gal smart pot... I just gave her a watering with straight r/o water day 13 at night... should I wait about 5-7 days (aka till her soil dries up) then think of transplanting?

Yes you should wait until the soil is dry for a better transplanting and transpot to a bigger pot but you can also wait a bit more for the roots system to settle in the 1 gallon before considere tansplanting , it's up to you 😁👍

Any luck with the transplant yet, or deciding to give her a little more time? I got to look at my roots finally and they went about 5 months in a 15 gallon smart pot, broke the bottom but didn't look root bound at all inside the pot. It was great.

@Experimentgreen, a bit of crumble, but she was a trooper! Quickly transplanted into wet soil & she’s been good for a week now! Flowering next week

@deadstockgenetics, did you trans when it was all dried up? Howd that work out? Did it crumble on you at all?

@deadstockgenetics, thats awesome. Yeah whenever i transplant the plants just seem happier. More room, clean fresh soil, it's like getting to stretch out on the couch and relax lol. Im excited to see your flowering get going. ✌️

Hey there i didnt mean to sound too abrupt...but trans when its at least a bit moist is best. Also the next pot moisten that new soil at the bottom too then the plants isn't as shocked..its just going right into a comparable (warm moist, not cold water) environment. Best of luck with the change. I just recently harvested a smart pot grow..im looking forward to checking my roots. 😊

@deadstockgenetics, thats awesome i did my first outside this summer and i did 3 different strains and oh my was it intense! The outdoor battle is a whole different ball game then indoor..but not any less difficult. But i really learned how much hard work goes into growing if you want things to turn out good. I started listening to a really good podcast a couple months ago , kis organics cannabis cultivation and science podcast...it has some great episodes about things i never thought of, check it out if you get the chance. ✌️🌞

Using beneficial microbes will help with your root expansion and nute uptakes.

@MaryJaneUSA, I do use Great White! Should I keep adding the powder into my Nute feedings?
