Greetings fellow growers!! I have been growing about 9 months now and I chose to document my Wedding Cake Auto from Royal Queen Seeds. Mostly because it’s a new strain and there isn’t very many journals/pics started of it yet. I always appreciate having a few examples of strains out there just to know what to expect and whatnot. So I am going to contribute my grow to the community. Please keep in mind I started this back on 7/29 and am just getting to posting my backlogged weeks. I’ll try and have everything current by the end of this weekend for anyone interested in this grow. Currently on Day 51 so bare with me.
Week 1 - 8/4 thru 8/10
8/4 - Fully Upright with starter leaves (Day 1)
8/5 - Looking healthy with nice starter leaves (Day 2)
8/8 - Second set of Starter leaves staring to show. (Day 5)
I have only been feeding with water as needed. My water naturally has a high PH so I only need to us 2 ml PH down per gallon to get a ph range of 6.2 - 6.5. I’ll document my waterings once they are around 2 weeks old. I have found that watering seedlings in 2 or 3 gallon pots require more of a gut feel to it then just the using the finger in the soil method. I found early on that its easy to over water so I always use the KISS system. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID.
Wow buddy!! super nice buds
What an amazing grow so far - good job and well done 🤝
Happy Growing & cant wait for your upcoming weeks 🌱
Cheers, Bud Boutique 👩🌾
Thanks Bud Boutique!
This has been a great grow for me as I think I have finally figured out most of the basics. My next challenge will be growing photos for a more consistent bud.
I’ll come take a look at what you have going. If your doing any photos I’ll be watching lol
Happy Growing!
Thanks! I see you’re growing a Banana Purple Punch Auto from Fastbuds. I got a few free seeds from them I’ll be trying out so I’ll have to keep an eye on your grow.
Happy Growing!
Thanks Bugsby!! It was a Great Harvest! I got about 750 grams wet weight so hoping for around 5 oz dry lol I know I won’t end up with that, probably more like 4 1/4 after cure and stems. I’ll be posting soon.
I have to give credit where it’s due and that would be my lovely wife! Lol she saw me trying to dry on lines hanging across my tent and was “umm I could fix that problem for you” and that’s what she got me. They each have 24 different clips and they fold up after use. I just love ‘‘em lol
I used to put my paper towels on the heat mat but I stopped going that. That heat can introduce pathogens and I’ve since found out that although there are more than one germination method, temperature doesn’t make much difference. What you’re trying to do is soften the shell and heat certainly helps that but the juice ain’t worth the squeeze. I started sanding the seems very lightly and that allows moisture inside which will hasten germination. I started using CulturedBiologix Dr. Root, which is just an instant tea, that I mix in water. You can ph it if you wish but it’s not a deal breaker because you’re not trying to uptake any nutes for two weeks anyway. Mephisto is notoriously finicky early on so all you want is root accelerators if anything for two weeks with an auto. IMO. So after I scuff the seeds I soak them overnight in a shot glass. If they sink sooner then just pour the water you soaked them in onto the paper towel and with sterile tweezers I place them point down on the paper towel and fold like everyone does. Then I place the baggie vertically with the points aiming down. They should start to work down in about two days. Then I put them straight into a 3gal container. Anything bigger is unnecessary IMO. I’ve seen Del from NightOwl (the best auto gear IMO) pull 30 grams out of a 3gal fabric container.
Good luck!
Yea I like to keep it pretty simple. Just PH’d water and a napkin in a baggy/Tupperware outside in the shade for 2 days. I don’t use many supplements until about week 2 and then only foxfarm trio & Calmag.
I always found the KISS method works best for me haha Keep it simple stupid.
I’ll check your grow out as well. Curious to see the same strain but with different breeders.
Happy Growing!
Happy Growing!
I couldn’t believe it myself when I weighed it! I think I just got lucky with a bigger than average plant. That being said I am extremely happy with this strain too. Going to grow it again for sure.
I leave a 62% Boveda (1oz) pack in and still burp my jars doing the cure. They are more for a backup if I forget to burp them.
I’ll be checking your grow for your dry harvest pics!
