Overall….self watering bases are working great! I did flush once between veg and flower to prevent salt buildup at the roots. I don’t know if that is recommended….but I believe it was a good preventative move before going into the more fragile flower growing phase. All I do is top off the reservoirs daily with almost .7 gallons of nutrients per reservoir. No runoff, no overwatering, no mess, no wasted nutrients. It’s almost too easy compared to other growing methods. I’m also appreciating the coco coir over soil….no bugs, lighter, less expensive, easier to flush and change nutrient levels with coco, perfect air/water ratio at the roots.
Irrigating from the bottom is also called a SIP (sub-irrigated planter)….i plan to test another SIP next time called an Octopot.
TUESDAY: BEGINNING of week 3 of flower. Zkitzz #1 is up to 37”, so I’m glad I upgraded my tent to a taller model. Leaves looking extremely healthy….no nutrient burn or deficiencies showing. I am glad that I flushed the plants last week in preparation for flower. I’ve been slowly defoliating a few leaves these first two weeks of flower…..almost time to stop picking leaves. I hope that I defoliated enough.
WEDNESDAY: up to 38 inches tall. Really happy about the new taller tent.
THURSDAY: Happy Thanksgiving! Plant is up to 39.5 inches today. Budlets are starting to be more prominent.
SATURDAY: Up to 42 inches tall today…..hoping they stop stretching soon. Raised lights by 2 inches.
@@Hankster, Yeah i understand the issue. I tried a few things for increasing humidity. Ranging from wet cloth to a humidifier. In the end i think a humidifier is a great investment for having a controlled range of humidity. All others methods were either spiking or just missed the desired humidityrange.🤔 I ,on my side, always struggle with temperatures because my lights heat up my tent quite a lot. But i think thats a big part of the journey: to find out how you can manipulate your environment to get the desired marks. 🌱🍀
@Herbie101, thank you! I’d like to figure out a way to increase my humidity more….but I’m not in a tent (this is in a closet). Your germination setup is even better IMO….you are giving me some new ideas. Thanks again.
@@Hankster, nice. I just chopped a few of mine. I've used the same AC infinity pots and still use them on some of my plants.
Just be sure to check the reservoir as mineral/salt build up can occur and without checking and scrubbing/cleaning it you wouldn't really notice until the plants show you lol.
Other than that I do like them.
Also, you can use the wick rope and put the wick around a stalk and the other side into a water source and it will work it that way as well for those who don't have autopots.
@Dabking, thank you. The LA Peyote Kush was nice harvest and a decent smoke. Looking forward to trying these Zkitzz soon. Maybe 2-3 weeks away from harvest.
Thanks! I’ve been paying close attention and even checking leaves with the microscope…not seeing any bugs fortunately. Thanks for the heads-up though as it reminded me to be mindful.
Wow man really impressed with how this grow is going, you've really covered everything 🌱 good luck with it I'll be checking back in on this one, they're looking good 💪🌿 I'm gonna do my first bit of LST tomorrow the time has come 😊
@@mcelligrow, thanks for the kind words!
Good luck with your LST tomorrow…..definitely worth it! I’ll be doing some trimming this weekend to get them ready for training too.
@BudBoutique, thank you for the kind words! I’ve made a few mistakes with this grow (especially the branch bending clips), but they’ll live through my abuse.
Best of luck with your grows too….they look beautiful!!
