First mephisto grow

All good, just waiting for it to get strong. Huge first leaves though compared to what I’m used to with FB. Looking good! I’m going to start tidying up my wardrobe, now the heat is off. I can always take it all down if they send a letter saying they are coming to visit! (The housing people) I’m playing with fire but I’m also prescribed cannabis - there just isn’t any grow laws so I’d still get charged and kicked out my house. Thing is, I can’t afford bud. It’s too expensive to get half decent buds on the med side of things. I’d be interested to see if the CPS would take the charge forward, given that I’m not selling at all and am prescribed. I’d rather not be the first though! I’m a bit sick of the low THC levels with autos and I would be able to do photos in the cupboard. I wouldn’t do the massive tent like before though I don’t think…I just want to use my fc-e-3000 Just found a load of old seeds both photo and auto so that gives me some more choice for the next grow. Due to the fact I use an Autopot, I never actually fill in the info on quantity of water. I simply add 5l each weak (or towards the end, 10L) to the res using the cannabis specific feed chart from Hydrosol. It’s quite similar to their tomato one actually - I know a lot of hydro grown commercial tomato growers use it due to it being cheap, easy and relatively quick to prep. Also I like that you can choose your own dilution ratio. So if I double the amount of powder to the same amount of water, it just means that you half the amount you add to the res. Aaaanyway. What a difference a week makes! It’s still slightly droopy but I realised last week that the outtake fan was turned almost all the way off! It wasn’t getting any CO2! So anyway, I found a happy medium between keeping humidity in the tent but also having the extraction fan turned up enough to keep the co2 flowing! It’s still small and dainty atm and so I’ll wait a week or two to start training. I just want it to be in its element before I fimm or top it. Apparently this is a really hardy auto so HST isn’t an issue. On a separate note iv now been testing long enough to actually have been sent some ‘coded’ new genetics - when I say coded, I mean the names are like gy104, ot723 and stuff like that but you can bet one of them will be building off of their newest line - it’s typically how breeders work a lot of the time. Either that or will be similar to one of their strains as it’ll most likely be a cross between two of their own plants. I have asked if I can test some fast flowering photos of theirs too , as I’m currently growing a fast v of a sweet seeds strain and they were the first to realise it was a thing that could be done - take the traits from the fast growing autos and almost breed backwards to how they would normally do it for an auto. This week has been okay - I got a swap out for my medical bud for some orange cake which iv had before and is loveley. I found the Aurora Farm Gas and the Aurora Sourdough to be similar, in effect, and seeing as iv had a few months worth of the farm gas at 27%, I wasn’t upset when they said the farm gas was out but the 29% sourdough has a similar effect - well, it worked last night when I woke up at 3 or was it 2 or was it 4? Who knows? Ha Still, the smell I get when I grind up the stuff I grow, is so much nicer than any med weed -it’s just weak. I don’t want to say fast buds lie about their numbers but It’s notorious that there are wild variations in the lab testing of THC. Everyone raves about mephisto but if the numbers are real then their strongest strain is like 5% stronger than mephisto’s. Comparing what iv grown to the medbud, both of them so far, since I started up again, has been weak and feels like around the 20% mark…considering the medbud has to be fairly accurate with regards to testing, I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on what has what sort of %, so it’ll be interesting to see how this one comes out as they brag about it being 25.5%. Now, okay, yeah it could be the genetics of why I am getting weak flower but tbh I don’t ever remember growing really strong flower and my only successful (as in got it through flower) was way more seed than bud and was around the same strength (the small amount of flower I could get from it). I need to drain the res today and last week I stupidly added 10L instead of 5, forgetting that I am RIGHT at the beginning of the grow and it’s taking up hardly any irrigate if that’s a word; I think people tend to refer to it as nutrient solution though! It’s staying in solution surprisingly well due to the fact that I don’t have a stirrer or air bubbler in the res at all and it’s fine - probably coz I change it weekly (trying not to be too wasteful). The plant will present itself to me when it needs topping - the plant will cry out to me and be in virile growth. Probably by this time next week I’ll have done it- I like to top quite low. So you’ll see in the photographs that I’m using perlite as a ‘mulch’ just coz it holds moisture really well and keeps the media protected. It is pretty annoying though. I wouldn’t mind getting some of them hydroten balls I can never spell it right, maybe I should just refer to them as clay balls - just for the section that sits in the water. If you do it with perlite, it’s too small and it clogs up the AquaValve and it gets stuck can, lead to a leak. It’s annoying - having plain coco there is okay but it just puts a slight sludge on the valve. I think iv said enough for today… uhh! iv got to drain the res and work out the difference in mutes from week to week. Great! Lol

Dammit, I forgot to hit post last week! Filled it all out and then just left it! Oh well….these things happen, better I make mistakes on here than in the grow rooms. Things have been okay but expensive - on a pre-pay meter so it’s just expensive - tbh, it’s the fans more than it is the lights! You can tell she is starting to go into flower now so I’m going to change the res today as it’s res change day, I’ll be using the quantities for the start of flower = parts a to b. Boom I must admit, now I have my 2x4 as well, the idea is to phase out the first room - or use it as a veg room using those types of fans I’m using as an in-take but for an out take. I will most likely use the 150w’er (I would use the ts-600 but it’s got no dimmer so I’ll just use the ts-1000 and then just dim it down to the lowest I possibly can. Mean while, I’ll be running my tsl-3000 slightly above the fc-e3000 with the fc-e3000, centred, daisy chained no dimmed.

I was trying to pop a load of seeds - I originally intended to do all photos in the big cupboard, finish this auto in this cupboard then switch the fan (for some reason it takes up so much electricity.) for one the same as the in-take. It’s looking a little limp and I think today’s change of res as well as watering with some microbes will help. It’s getting a bit confusing counting when plants have popped and trying to train them and give them a ‘middle zone’ irrigation solution that will just keep the photo’s that are ahead, growing slowly and the plants that are slightly behind will catch up a bit. TBH, if the FastBuds auto that’s going all weird dies then I’ll leave it at the 3 photos or I may add a GMO seed as I received that at the same time. These diaries really help keep count of the weeks and allow me to remember wtf I’m doing - I need to go and buy an opaque container to use as a res for the bigger tent so I can see the autopot trays and how much space they take. I’m excited for the MAC - although I will admit, it’s a random breeder. Ganjafarmer I think…oh also, it hadn’t seen any light yet as it was terming on top of the tent. Worked really well once I realised I was growing at mushroom temps, not cannabis temps - it’s incredible how much 2 degrees c makes for germing. Should be interesting to see how much space I have once the rest of the trays go in…. I realised I had turned off the flow valve at some point but there was water in the tray still so it’s not that….

Okay so it started shooting pistols right after my last update. I decided to move it to the fce3000 So it can get more light and have more space. I’m also growing a couple of photos and having issues with my germination so I am really trying to dial it in with a heat mat that has a thermostat and humidistat (not that I use the humidistat rele - nothing is plugged into that, it’s more for the heat mat to keep it in check. Then they’ll be moved into the little tent where iv switched the intake to the out take so it’s only using USB electricity and the really dimmed 150w light. Then finally to where iv put this triangle vs alien… I’m just about to change the res as it doesn’t look very happy! To be honest, I’ll be waaaay happier when this bloody auto has finished. It may be because It doesn’t smell at all yet or because it veg’d somewhere really small but yeah it is a bit annoying. Iv been having issues germinating seeds so I need to sort that out really. Iv tried to make it so the dimmed halfway mark is reached and therefore I know it’s 75w - which is what most of those bars are…. I may end up working from bloody clone at this rate!

I just spread it out slightly now it has more space but it isn’t looking too healthy. I think I’m a week behind on the feed schedule so I think it needs a pk boost - it doesn’t look like a N deficiency. The EC is at the high end of a ‘normal strength feed’. I just want it to finish now tbh - the humidity needed for the others is probably not great for it but iv turned off the other tent now due to the cost of electricity. Its looking good but I have too many plants for the space.

Things are going okay - now I have more plants it’s getting more confusing because they are all at different stages! It’s okay - the two in veg are of a similar size - given the genetics and iv just put the other Tropicanna into the AutoPot system - so it will be that one that’ll stay in there because I think I can get away with giving it the same solution as the other two as after 4 weeks of veg it stays the same. Anyway as you can see this plant is POORLY! Iv tried adding more water or lowering the ec, iv tried the opposite and also a res change now and I can see that it’s getting more green and generally looking more healthy. Ish… Okay so I have more plants than space. Logic says go with the plants that are biggest but one of the biggest (out of the smallest lot) is getting bigger than the second Tropicanna poison. I don’t really want two because that other trop poison is doing really well and is huge. I have a Frosted Guava by I can’t remember seeds and also orange hill special from Dutch passion. The thing is the Dutch passion one is bigger and closer to wanting to be flipped but I have less of the frosted guava seeds - iv got loads of the Dutch passsion ones. Mind you Dutch passion have always grown well for me. Their banana blaze when I had hardly any light worked really well! Either way it’s getting bigger and definitely looks healthier than the one that’s in the big pot that will be linked to the second AutoPot set. I may also transplant the first Tropicanna into a bigger AutoPot as I have one spare. I dunno yet.

Starting to get a bit more chunky now but the weird colour persists even after checking ph and trying lowering as well as raising the quantity of notes in the mix so I don’t have a clue what she wants!

So iv started the ‘flush’ now, even though it already looked like it was eating itself when I was adding quite a strong irrigation solution. Its started coming out in some really pretty colours and smells amazing. I was quite amazed - as iv changed my fan and filter, I accidentally turned it off or it turned itself off because it was in smart mode and I’d been away and it STANK of weed but not in the hall or anywhere public but if I made that mistake with this next lot then I’d be screwed coz of the amount of plants! I’m quite surprised how quickly they are recovering actually. Iv decided to just start letting the LST’d tropicanna Poison grow upwards now as it doesn’t really have anywhere else to go. I suppose I could switch around where the huge one is and the diesel that isn’t quite as big. Just means more training and I’m sick of it. Either that or start chopping it back a bit.

Generally good. Drying conditions are pretty perfect at ambient. I just have a humidistat/thermostat plugged in with nothing plugged into them as it’s hitting the right marks…it’s hung in my old tent. I will admit that the decision to harvest was more based on wanting to switch to the 12/12 light cycle for the massive photoperiod plants in there! Also, I don’t see it getting much bigger in the next week and what I lose in that plant I’ll gain in the next 8 weeks… Okay so she dried at ambient room temperature which is around 16-17c. Depends when I put the heating on it may go up a degree or two but tbh I use an electric blanket for myself and my plants have their own radiator so…it’s all good. Illl definitely be able to get that high temp in the day to low temp at night colouration from them because the ambient in the lung room is so low. I’m also growing some Albino A+ mushrooms in a Monotub type deal - I just cased it after the spawn had been bulk spawned and grown through it all. I actually used 50:50 coco/ manure this time and used a larger surface area so hopefully, all going well, they should provide quite a good yield.
