Just set up my RDWC. Placed 2 seeds directly in rockwool cubes. Both opened and waiting for them to break ground. Next update once they do!

Planted these Orange Biscuits on Tuesday. Friday was first day above the "soil" and were placed directly in my RDWC system once I saw the tap root break through the bottom of the rapid rooter. First RDWC run. Seems I have my climate dialed in. 80 daytime temps and about 73 night. I have a 4" intake fan pulling air from a different room directly in to the tent. It is accompanied by a 6" exhaust fan and carbon filter blowing directly out the window. My lights go out at 1pm (hottest part of the day). Using R/O water and GH trio nutrients. Will update more once the true leaves come in.

I know it's only been 5 days since my last update, but it's a week in the bucket and I've decided to do a water change. My water temps won't stay down. Right now using frozen bottles of water but might get a chiller. It seems to me that the growth is much faster in this RDWC setup than I've ever gotten in soil. These are probably the healthiest sprouts I've had ever. Lights are at 60% right now. Still trying to get climate just right. Stays around 80F during the day and 72-74F at night. Very excited to see what happens

Really great start to what I hope is an awesome grow. Changed water today. Plants look great. Beautiful white roots. Almost a new set of leaves every other day. One weird thing I'll note is that they have both already started to produce side branches. I've never seen a 2 week old plant do that. Leads me to think these plants will be short and squatty but really full. We will see if I'm right!

I changed my water yesterday. Today Ive noticed the slightest bit of tip burn. It's on the interior. Not on older growth. Should I be alarmed? Photo 1, 2, and 3 are the problem. Photo 4 is daily ppm ph and mS measurements

It's actually potassium deficiency likely from ph being out of range. Hydro grows don't get nute burn like soil grows. Simply because they don't get dry. I do a 5.8 ph in veg. 6.1 in flowering. Make sure ph pen is calibrated regularly.

Had some issues after my water change last week. Leaf tips turning yellow. Thought it was nute burn but someone on here said you can't get nute burn in DWC which I don't believe. Dropped the ppm and the problem stopped. Im really only in week 3. Not sure how I got ahead of myself. Defoliated the massive fan leaves to open up the middle of the plant. Expect to start seeing sexing next week or 2.

Plant A hit a block 2 weeks ago and has slowly recovered. Started as the biggest and fastest growing but Plant B has come up strong to take the lead. Today is week 4. Not sure how I got a week ahead. Hoping to see pistols soon as these are autoflower. Been defoliating all giant fan leaves to open up bud sites

Sorry I've been gone so long. Life happens and whatnot! So I'm 6 weeks into flower. Expect 2 more weeks and then a flush. Had a calcium issue. Shows a lot on plant B. Plant A not sk much. Same res and nutrients but plant A looks about 2 weeks behind plant B. I think I stressed her too much as a seedling. Will continue to update until harvest

I've been slowly dropping my nutes as I am in week 11. The first day of week 13 I plan on chopping. How long do I need to flush with ph'd r/o water?

Oh boy, what a question lol. Apparently the new information is that flushing doesn't matter. If you are in RDWC i would just flush for a week using a florakleen agent. That will remove3 salt from the roots so the plant will eat it up. I still advocate flushing simply to speed up the process of chlorophyll break down, which is what makes the plant smoke harsh and taste like shit. Studies show flushing vs. no flush there is only about 15% less nutrients in the flushed plant over the non flushed. There is a reduction, but not an elimination, which sort of debunks the theory of "flushing nutrients" from the plant tissue. By depriving the plants of nutrition and forcing them to eat the nutrition within itself, chlorophyll breaks down, which is why your leaves yellow and turn orange and all the pretty fall colours. Plants fed right to the day of harvest have shown to have the richest flavors and aromas (terpenes), and the biggest flowers, if i remember correctly. That's a loose quote from Harley Smith. I believe no flush will take longer to cure into smokable product than a flushed plant. Simply because the flushed plant has a head start on the reduction of chlorophyll through natural break down over curing gas off.

Today starts week 12. Checking trichomes every day. Still cloudy with a chance of meatballs, I mean amber. Dropping nutes slowly. Trying to keep ppm to 400ish. Very excited to chop and see my yield! This was my first time using GH trio and also my first RDWC and I gotta say, I'll probably never grow in soil again if I can help it. Trying to set up my spare bathroom as a drying room as the temp in there sits around 70 with an rH of about 45-50. I look forward to showing y'all the chop down pics!

I have an autoflower on week 12. Why am I not seeing amber trichomes? The breeder says 12 weeks is the normal run. Am I doing something wrong?

did you train her ? Autos can often take just as long as photos if not longer if training methods are used as this tends to stunt autoflowers :) I would alwasy add 2 weeks to whatever to breeder says anyway and it tends not to be too far off. I would re evaluate the plant in a couple of weeks and looks then :) best of luck buddy. it could also mean the plants metabilism is slowing down basically meaning the plant is dying which is again quite normal for autoflowers as they have a predetermined life cycle :)

Awesome harvest and very happy with the outcome. Starting another journal next week. Will be even more detailed and I won't miss any weeks. I uploaded some video of my drying room.
