Ztrawberriez has sprouted, and is getting acclimated to grow. She will start nutrition in a few days. This will be a 1 gallon perlite grow. It should be just like growing in coco coir from my previous attempt at this. So everything is going good for Ztrawberriez. π€π»for a great grow. Thank you Fast Buds. π€π»π€π»π±π±π±

I've thought about this. Perlite or vermiculite would give the roots more aeration thus more available oxygen. To me it seems like it would be basically a Hydro grow.
But they perlite won't hold the nutes and make it available to the roots? This is my understanding of it?
@@DoughHead, perlite holds water as well as air. When it gets bigger it will be a twice a day feeding with a smaller Potter. But I am trying to do something different looking, and it might turn out special in long run. π€ π±ππ»
@PersonalSmok3s, algae may start where light can get to. Once plant starts growing it will vanish. Plus the algae won't hurt it anyway. Coco, and perlite kinda work the same just perlite allows for drainage better. Just coco releases potassium as it bio degrades.
@Roberts,
Would it not be prone to getting an algae build up or other wet, moisturey ailments?
I get what your saying about it being like coco and it probably allows for better oxygen around the root zone, Its never crossed my mind to do it π€·ββοΈ
Good luck and happy growing. 100% perlite was my medium off choice for many grows. Excellent results always. Stop using it only because off dust when its dry
