Seeds sprouted quick, used a blurple light which caused stretching so switched to migro100 until transplanting. 5 bluecheese, 1 Gelato. Final count will be 4.
This is where things got interesting, and I messed up. Transplanted into autopots with 60/40 coco/pebbles. Added airbases in pots and gave a good soak before transplant then a small water after. This went well and was set to not water for 7-10 days until turning autopots on. After 6 days they looked a little yellow so I decided to feed. Big mistake, I washed all the crap basically through the medium causing either deficiency or lockout of 4 plants in autopots. Commenced a flush and then waited till dried out considerably before finally turning autopots on. Lesson learned I think. Over the course of the week they continued to grow before going yellow.
Beginning of week5, 30 days from putting seed into papertowel. Besides the yellowing and cal deficiency, they all seem to be doing well. Colour has began coming back into them after turning autopots on 4 days ago. Topped all plants 3 days ago and not much new growth since. Gelato had a few rusty leaves on the bottom so went ahead and trimmed then while topping. Sprayed at lights out with a calmag water spray for 3 nights. Reservoir due to be topped up so will be moving nutes to 900-1000 ec. They are drinking a bit but seems like they want more nutes slightly pale.
With only room for 4 plants, I'm hand feeding one that I can't bring myself to kill. So decided to butcher it, removing bigger leaves and play practicing bending stems and supercropping rather than just bin it.
Waiting now for growth and to install nets. Other than that just watching.
2nd day of week 6. 37 days from seed. I had a faulty pH pen ive been using to watch reservoir. Noticed today when topping up its off quite a bit.res low was at 6.3 corrected to 5.4 and topped with 10L of new solution all back to 5.4, drained the bases and refilled with fresh to try help bring back down. Otherwise seem to be okay. 1/3 bluecheese is really outgrowing the others already passing the net in a day. Other 2 a close with gelato trailing behind but making progress. Lights at 50cm from canopy. Plan to flip the end of this week but we'll see how things progress.
So here we are, day2 of flower. What has changed? Dehumidifier removed as was foing very little. 12/l day ordered, not needing atm steady 50-60% but will definitely be introducing and dropping slowly to 35-40 over tye coming weeks. Keep res the same at the moment plan to slowly increase this week a little if there is good growth. Co2 boost buddy added, I don't know how good these are but it was given by the shop for a couple of euro.
I was advised that my tent is too small for this many plants @ 1.2m². They are more optimistic than me for sure lol. For now I bit the bullet as I trust them and removed one. If they are right in what they say I may need to lose another but we'll see. I'm gonna try my best to keep the 3 now.
2 blue cheese and 1 gelato. Gelato being the smallest but it's very busy and stems are pretty fat and hard I'm interested in this one the most as it's always looked healthy but not much growth but it's compared to a more stretchy strain.
I'll get more pictures up as the week goes on, lights are now running at 100%. Still researching when to add cannaboost to my schedule any input appreciated. Happy growing 🙃
Week 8, day 8 of flower. Bushing alot. Cleaned reservoir and bases at start of flower, bigger dehumidifier added to slowly bring down. Added a bigger fan too for top of plants. Not a huge amount of growth but they growing. One seems to be showing up the rest already forming buds, 2nd is starting and only seen 2 hairs on gelato but confident so far its a female. Tied down a few branches to open the centre on some bits.
Start of week 3, day 16 today. Topped res up again really drinking. 70L in 10 days, filled again to keep them happy. Gelato is so bushy and tight. I've been pruning and tying down where I can. Space is really getting crowded now with flower sites showing everywhere. Biggest blue cheese was a head from day one with that many preflowers they looked like buds. She's forming some nice big sites already, I'm excited to see how this one goes. Apart from lst the rest has been boring cleaning, keeping notes, checking ph etc. Constantly making small changes with ventilation and dehumidifier location so find what works best.
Small update, starting week 4, 22 days. Tying down and training a lot. I've learned so much, I'm excited more for my next grow than this harvest.
In the past week no major changes, Gelato finally start budding, it was last. Drinking around 7-10 litres a day now. Mainly just filling res and training/pruning here and there. Sooo bushy especially Gelato.
Around the halfway mark after this week so hoping everything stays as is. Temperature here has dropped out side now about 5°C on avg, so leaving tent temps right down 16-17°C at coldest lights off point. Needed an hours heat to boost at lights on some days to push to 21°C after that the lights will bring to 24-27 and maintain. Humidity in the tent jumps but the air is a consistent 45-50% so not worried at this stage if seeing readings high. I'll be moving dehumidifier inside the tent towards the end.
Video uploaded at end of pics.
Day 30 of flower. Kinda at the halfway mark. A lot of defoliation done clearing smaller lower bud sites off and opening up the ones higher. All buds forming nicely. One plant is well a head from day one. Changes everyday.
Lower temperatures the past week have brought a lot of purple out on the biggest plant. Humidity sitting a little low, dehumidifier off room at a steady 40%. Seems to have dropped with the temperatures and heat on.
Fairly happy how they're turning out. Better than expected.
Into week 6, biggest plant which seems a week or 2 ahead of others is paling a lot on bigger top leaves. Foliage under still green. Lights are a fair distance, all 3 on same feed no issues till now. Not sure if just the buds draining or not. Have started pk13/14. 2 smaller have some catching up to do. Hopefully home stretch, I wanted to be harvesting all together but don't think that be happening.
Another week closer. Big boy is fading fast, starting flushing today from a separate reservoir with this one. Nutes dropped a little on others. Hoping to be chopping the biggest in 10 days or so. Others seem about 2 weeks behind, they never had the same enthusiasm as that one. Because this one decided it was gonna be quicker than the rest, I'll have to dry in a second tent where I should be starting the next 4 in the next week or two. This going to delay the next start unfortunately
Probably the last week to post the bluecheese that's fading. Starting to look about done. Will be watching over the next week to chop. Gelato and other bluecheese are starting to put a little weight on the buds. Starting dropping nutes. Weather has been mild so been sitting around 26°C during lights on but the last 2 hours always jump to 27-29. Only happens with milder weather.
Day 56, partially chopped 1 bluecheese. I lacked trimming under branches on this one and ended up with some decent sized but airy crappy buds. Others have a few weeks left yet so going to leave this while still some green left and see what happens. No changes I'll cut.
Gelato is looking a fav. Buds are so dense and hard and the smell is divine. I'm excited for that one the most.
Day 57 now.
Last week I think. Nice amount of cloudy trichomes next week should show enough Amber to please me. Waiting game now. At least plant 1 is now smokeable. Starting to focus on the next now and letting these do their thing.
Not a bad outcome but not entirely happy how it grew. Grew too fast and seemed to mature too quickly. Split its own stem during growth but still finished.
Prob 50/50 decent and crappy buds. Not made on the formation being honest. Tasted one dry not cured, had a nice high and wasn't a bad smoke, some flavour but lacking, the cure should bring it out.
120g dried curing and probably an oz trimmed today of lower buds that I left longer.
