Apple(I like to name my plants.) is off to a great start, growing pretty fast actually. I decided to try some Dr. Earth 2-2-1 Pump & Grow that I added to a gallon of water. It drops the PH terribly though so I had to bring it up from under a PH of 4.0 to 6.0. She’s in a Happy Frog/Coco mix and was looking a bit dry so I just gave her a little around her base and will see how she responds. I probably won’t continue using Dr. Earth for her but it does really well on other plants and isn’t too strong so I gave it a try. I’ll add her measurements on my next entry as I forgot to check. I think she’s a bit over 2 inches if I had to guess. She’s handling a bit higher light amount then I would like but I have other plants that need it so I placed her in the spot that doesn’t get as much and she’s doing great. She is further away as she’s not on a stand and the light spread has really helped.
I have never been a fertilizer person so I really have no idea what I’m doing unfortunately. I’m using General Hydroponics on my other gals that are in week 4 and they seem to like it despite my goof mixing them wrong as well as over feeding them once. I was a bit worried I stunted them so I planted another seed just in case. All but one is fine but one does seem to be struggling in the grow but it has since it was germinated. Could be a faulty seed on top of my mistakes. It’s a different breed/type though.
The humidity is still too high (67%)but the dehumidifier is working hard so I’ll see but as of now I’m not impressed as it’s adding heat which I don’t care for much. I want it a bit cooler for the carrots I’m growing in the corner lol. I have a good bit of circulation along with a clean dry uncluttered environment so I’m hoping that helps.
Sorry for the long entries but I’m so excited to share!
