This week the plants got their first trim. No visible preflowers yet but guessing from the size I think I may have 4 females and one male.

What is the ideal amount of defoliation? Is it possible to trim too many leaves and stress the plants?

Hi @MrMunchies! A good defoliation is a slight defoliaiton, removing too many leaves at a time lead to stress & will stunt the growth. I usually recommend to start by 2~4 leaves per stem each week and see how the plant responds. If you select carefully the leaves that are creating shades and the ones that are essential to the plant and do it step by step, your defoliation will be a success and will increase your final yield. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊
