Filling out nicely. Lots of good bud sites. Lst working well. Added a small amount of bloom and calmag to see how it reacts. Moving the led down a cm every 3 days. Keep leaf tucking. One budsite and one leaf fell off. 13/5 Looking bloody lovely, flower stretch is beginning on the main two colas. Lst seems to be helping so far. Upped all nutes will update feeding schedule on week 5.

13/5 So Upped all nutrients and removed root juice. Started a germ on sour orange auto by bakery seeds Co. Today. 14/05 Looking like they enjoyed the nutrients and lower lamp distance. 😉 Led is now hanging at 30cm,will keep an eye on it for the next 3 days. Still no show on the sour orange. Gave Ggg3 2 litres of plain water. She was thirsty. Last pain feed until flush I reckon. We will see. 15.05 Buds are forming nicely, even the little biddy iddy ones. Very happy for first attempt at lsd, but still have to flower yet! But I'm hopeful for this plant. She's tough 💪🌱. Still very moist will leave it to dry a few days and then back on with more flowering nutes I think. Maybe just an extra ml. Gave the S orange a dibble of root juice. Grow baby grow. 16/05 Sour orange has made an appearance! Amazing. Ggg looking really healthy, one of the cfls fell on her so there were a few burnt leaves but nothing to worry about i don't think. Looking like she wants another feed. Will probs do tomorrow, getting very thirsty now.

16. 06 So, looking all good really. She's had some biobizzing. Will leave to dry for 3 days or so and check again how we looking. Planted sour orange in her final 15l pot. Had to remove humidifier for space, we'll see if that had any effect. Hopefully not. Just waiting for some stretching! 17.05 Checked in the morning before lights out, seems very happy. 19.05 Introduced some ladybirds. Around 12 I think. Should I remove the yellow sticky tape? Don't want to trap the ladybirds? Moved the light a little closer as it looked like the leaves were stretching up for it. Its now at about 28cm from the canopy. Gave it a couple of litres nute feed and removed all yellowing leaves round the base of the plant. 23/05 Noticed some of the leaf tips curling down a tad. A couple of them have little brown markings on the tips as you can see in the photos. I'm thinking light nutrient burn? Going to give it plenty of water on the next feed and then lower the nutes slightly.... I know its too hot in there and I'm doing everything I can to minimise it. But they seem to be liking it? 25.05 1am Took a few leaves out and all the lower growth that was small. Last day of week 6! Stems are getting strong now. Starting to smell every so slightly.

So week 7 now on this survivor. Its had a hard, hot time but its doing well, buds are starting to look like buds now. Doesn't seem to stretch anymore so going to lay off the biogrow and up the bloom. 30/5 Day 50 02.06 Midnight Thank god the fan didn't fall on this baby. Looking nice and healthy (I think) can't wait for it to fatten up. Watered 1.5 litres 6.5ph.

Is it normal for the pistols to be so brown at this stage? Should the buds be fatter? Is it because of high temperature?

hey fruitgrower, good question, every genetic ages in different ways according to the different environment it's in. I'm guessing you're also worried because it seems early on. As you know the gens you're growing are large yielders, so they're gonna need more time whatever happens. What I say to myself is that pistills will all turn brown during the drying and curing anyway so it's not really a good indicator of when the plant's ready. Right now you've just finished the stretch for the plant which is a stage where there's a lot of action going on, now the plant is going to get buffer, and you've got a fair few weeks ahead of you yet. Sit back and mind the plants, but this stage is going to be pretty much on cruise control, so sit back and relax. hope this helps ! 🚀

03/06 Looking yummy now. Took alot of leaves off so buds can find the light All the above pics on day 54 are after this little defoliation sesh. Gave 2.5 litres of ph6.5 water. Next water will be back on the feed. 05/6 Not much Difference except really starting to smell now almost like damp clothes and mud and I can start to see a shimmer of resin 07/06 Added a evaporative cooler. Now the temps are down to 24.c , yeah oui. Watered with nutes, ommited the bio grow as showing signs of too much nitro. 08/06 Don't know if its the temps at 24c or just the fact that it's time to do so or the both..... But I've noticed today an extreme increase in crystals. Good news.

I'm saying around two weeks.... 24.06 Day 76 Last day off week 10. No more nutes from here on. Looking nice now don't think they'll fatten up much more but I might be surprised. 26.06 Day 76 Beginning of week 11. I reckon this may be the last week of life for Ggg3. Going to water it tomorrow and then less often. Some trichomes beginning to go amber 28/06 Day 78 Looking close. I really do think it's nearly ready, probably going to harvest on my next day off. 29/06 Trichomes starting to turn Amber, Suprisingly doesn't smell at all really. Going to chop out down in the next few days can't wait! 01/07 Really starting to look buddy now. Gave it a huge water today, biggest flush ever. Will be the last water until harvest. Planning to harvest on the 5th or the 7th but will give it some darkness for up to 48 hours before.

3rd July Day 83 Going to chop in the next 6 days. 08/07 Day 88 13th week tomorrow from seed. So thinking about it I've probably been a little bit silly with the timings. But another week or two and she'll be done. Going to give her one more heavy pk boost and then continue flushing until harvest time.

Leave it to dry out now me thinks 13/07 Turned the light off today, going to chop tomorrow, 80/90% pistils turned brown and took a little sample off and it is a nice high!

13/07 Day 94 from seed So as you can see early on this plant was a survivor, I went on holiday for 5 days and came back to a heat wave and a 41c tent with an extremely dead looking marijuana plant and another one looking very sad indeed(the gelato cookie dhope) ... In really surprised how little this plant smells. My other plant smells like cheesy oranges 😂lol! Despite all this and high temps she pushed through I seem to have got a good yield. Forgot to weigh the wet though... Trimmed all dark leaves off and begin hanging on the tent will monitor humidity and temp levels. Managed to maintain humidity of 55% a temp with no effort and temps of 23/25c. All been weighed now and jarred, let the curing begin, I really hope it develops a smell and flavour. Is it normal to not smell at all? Have I done something wrong? Or overdone something? 23/07 Semi cued smoke update So after 10 days in the jar it's beginning to firm up and smell less like plant and more like Diesl/Vanilla cookie smell. When I break open a bud and put it through the grinder ,I get a very citrusy, earthy, vanilla tone unfortunately it dosn't come through in the taste yet though. Peace ✌️ Happy growing

I moved the fans around now and took two cfl out.... Temps are now around 29c, when it nearer to harvest I'll take the other two cfl out and maybe turn the blue light off on the led? What do you think guys?

So two very different opinions there then..... 😂Now I'm confused. I'm seeing mostly cloudy trichomes and 5%amber

@Fruitgrower, yeah... that’s another factor altogether...personal preference in the final product. I like em all, so some harvest will be mostly clear trichs, sometimes mostly cloudy or amber. Sometimes I like a baked potato, sometimes French fries, and sometimes potato salad. All yummy. Very different.

I was thinking to harvest on the next 6 days probably on the 5th day Sunday the 8th or Monday 9th. Otherwise it will be a week longer..... I did by a little Jewelers Loupe but I find it pretty shit tbh

@Fruitgrower Check out my diaries. It was my first grow as well and then I had several more seeds so made an other one.

@Fruitgrower, I think you did right. Anyways the breeder says it takes 7 weeks from seeds and the minimum I saw that was done 10 weeks and it can take up to 14-15 weeks. But nice to grow really cool plant. The first one I overdried it was like a dry herbs but the next one is proper I left outside for 4 days and then placed in the jar and every day take out for a bit longer to avoid mould. Now it is fine. I just don't really like the effect of the buds. Do you ?

@Fruitgrower, Not really I did not really like this strain I mean I liked to grow but the smoke itself is not the best I will see what you say when you are done.

@Fruitgrower asked “Is it normal for the pistils to be so brown at this stage? Should the buds be fatter...” With cannabis EVERYTHING is normal, because we just don’t know what’s going to happen. Just like the kids of two parents don’t necessarily look alike, plants express individual characteristics that don’t always align with our belief of what is ‘right’. Brown pistils (pardon my spelling correction in your quote but it is quite a different word hehe) can mean ready, but often not. You need to see the trichomes under a microscope. Short of that, a trained eye can discern overall color tone without seeing individual trichs, but it’s tough to do without experience. New-ish growers tend to harvest way too early. Fight off that urge. Let her finish, almost as nature intends, but without the complete drying out and dying while still in the earth. You will enjoy your harvest. And you will do better next time. Warmest regards!
growdoctordc
growdoctordccommented6 years ago
@Fruitgrower, high temps will do that. And why pistil color is not a good indicator of trichomes maturation. I hate a jewelers loupe. I have a digital microscope that plugs into USB. Not perfect but ok for $50
Fruitgrower
Fruitgrowercommented6 years ago
@growdoctordc, but also as you can see in week 6ish the pistils (correction noted) 😉were already brown probably due to high temps and stress
Fruitgrower
Fruitgrowercommented6 years ago
@growdoctordc, I am trying to fight that urge lol. I did buy a little Jewelers Loupe but I can hardly see through the fucking thing! So I just zoom in real close on the photos every day and I can kinda see where it at as its maturing (you can do this on your smart phone on the grow diaries too 😉) although it's not 100% accurate and I have followed a couple of other grows to use as a comparison. I have ordered another microscope but still awaiting delivery. I am flushing now and giving no nutrients, I have shortened the light cycle to help boost our and lower temps a bit and turned the blue led off so it's only getting red light.
