================================================================================= CRIB NOTES - I'M USING A LIGHT CYCLE OF 6 ON 2 OFF THIS SHOULD KEEP THE LADIES FROM STRETCHING AND GROW VERY COMPACT. Many growers advocate the use of an 18/6 light schedule (18 hours on, 6 hours off) while plants are in Veg. However, this may not be the most beneficial light schedule. Switching to a series of 6/2 (6 hours on, 2 hours off) light patterns may increase plant growth while also potentially creating a more stable controlled environment. While this new schedule may sound risky, it actually comes with a number of benefits. Cannabis is a “short-day plant,” meaning that it will only flower when exposed to long periods of darkness and short periods of light. For cannabis to flower, there must be at least 12 hours of continuous darkness. This allows for the use of a series of shorter light schedules while the plant is in Veg – as long as the plant receives less than 12 hours of continuous darkness, it will stay in Veg. BENEFITS OF A 6/2 LIGHT SCHEDULE There is a lot of research that suggests that cannabis plants can only process a certain amount of light per day. After that level has been reached, the plant can no longer absorb more light, and any additional light is essentially wasted. By breaking the light cycle into multiple 6 hour periods, the plant is able to rest and process the light it has received. When the lights come back on 2 hours later, the plant will be ready to process additional light, allowing you to get the most plant growth out of every minute your lights are on. At a biological level, cannabis’s inability to grow more once it has received a certain amount of light can be attributed to the way the plant processes carbon dioxide (CO2). A majority of the mass accumulated in cannabis is associated with the amount of CO2 found inside plant cells. While under light, cannabis tries to prevent CO2 from leaving its cells by cutting off transpiration. However, this prevents new CO2 from entering into the cell, blocking new growth. When the lights are turned off, and no photosynthesis is occurring, the plant is able to absorb new CO2 into its cells. Additionally, when plants are exposed to 18 straight hours of intense light, they become stressed. Signs of stress – droopy or curled leaves – will usually appear towards the end of the light cycle. While some stress can be beneficial to plant growth, too much stress can cause harm to your plants and prevent them from reaching maximum growth potential. Giving plants 6 hours of intense light at a time not only puts less stress on the plants, it also spread out the load on your cooling system over a longer period of time. The cooling system works the hardest when lights are on. By turning off the lights for 2 hours at a time throughout the day, your cooling system will get a break between light cycles, allowing the room to be cooled to desired temperatures before the lights come back on. With a properly sized cooling system, this benefit will be minimized as the system will be designed to handle the heat load throughout the entire light cycle. While there are many approaches to Veg light cycles for cannabis, a 6/2 schedule allows for maximum plant growth. A 6/2 schedule allows plants to process more intense light, prevents plants from becoming stressed and puts less stress on your cooling system. It’s a win all around. Give your plants a break every 2 hours and you’ll be amazed at the results. ================================================================================= Day 1 October 1st - 2018 - The 3 Seeds are in germination at the present. The seeds were soaked in reverse osmosis water for 16 Hr. then transferred to a paper towel. DAY 2 October 2nd - 2018 - 2 out of the 3 seeds have germinated. the first 2 will be put into hydrofarm soilless seed starters using Revers Osmosis water and placed under 3 grolux flor 45 watt. Day 2 October 2nd - 2018 1:00 Pm. All 3 seeds planted into hydrofarm soilless seed starters using Revers Osmosis water and placed under 3 grolux flor 45 watt Day 3 October 3rd - 2018 - 9:00 Am. 2 ladies have popped out there little heads. Day 4 October 4th - 2018- 9:30 Am Seedlings are doing fine. All 3 seeds have germinated. Day 5 October 5th - 2018 ROW being installed. 2:30 Pm ROW installed. Day 5 October 5th - 2018 Seedlings are getting first set of single serrated leaves. Day 5 October 5th - 2018 The tent is setup and running R.O.W. Day 5 October 5th - 2018 Washed all Hydroton Clay Pellets in ROW. NO DETERGENTS. Rinse and Rinse again. Using R.O.W. so the medium has a practically no Ph. Day 6 October 6th - 2018 - Transferred the best 2 seedlings to tent under Veg. 1000 Watt L.E.D. Each bucket contains 19 liters of R.O.W. no nutrients added. This will continue for the next 2-3 weeks depending on growth. Day 6 October 6th - 2018 Seedlings put under Light Cycle of 6 On 2 Off Ect. Day 7 October 7th - 2018 - Seedlings looking good. Seems everything is fine on 6 on 2 off light cycle. Day 7 October 7th - 2018 - The 3rd seed germinated is looking very healthy. Transplanted it from the hydro seed starter to a 1 gallon planter with soil. Placed this in between the 2 main plants in the D.W.C. & used R.O.W.

Day 8 October 8th - 2018 Added Natural Wind Fan, universal motor speed control and pruning shears.😁 Day 8 October 8th - 2018 Running light on both Veg & Bloom. Day 9 October 9th - 2018 Turned on Can-fan and Natural Wind Fan,opened all vents on tent, Temp is up to 84f due to outside temps of 70f in Ontario Canada. Day 9 October 9th - 2018 Turning on Can-fan with Natural Wind Fan has reduced the temp to 72f. Day 9 October 9th - 2018 Turned off the Bloom side of the L.E.D. due to heat. Day 10 October 10th - 2018 Seedlings looking fine 2nd set of leaves are starting to show. I will leave only the Veg side on until tomorrow when the outside temp. drops to below 60f Day 10 October 10th - 2018 Watered the seedling in soil today with 1/2 Liter R.O.W. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DAY 10 0CTOBER 10TH - 2018 😠Changing both solutions in D.W.C. system due to not having a proper measuring device for nutrients went out today and bought a 10 ml graduated medical syringe. DAY 10 OCTOBER 10TH - 2018😄 {Both D.W.C systems cleaned & filled with R.O.W all nutrients added Micro,Grow & Bloom}. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Day 11 October 11th - 2018 All plants are looking good the 2 in D.W.C. are starting to show a bit more growth with the right nutrient mixture. Day 11 October 11th - 2018 Seedling in soil with no Nutes is coming along very well. Day 11 October 11th - 2018 Adding CO2 to the plants tonight. Mixture is 9 cans of frozen strawberry concentrate. 9 cans R.O water, then 2.5 lbs. Sugar and 5 tablespoons baker's yeast. Reason for baker's yeast is it produces more CO2 than brewers yeast Then when this stops working do not add more yeast. take what is left strain it so all by products are gone and you have a very nice potent Strawberry wine. Day 12 October 12th - 2018 Due to the Temp drop outside from 72f to 48f over night .All Temps in tent have dropped to the perfect range. Day 12 October 12th - 2018 Turned on Bloom side of the light with Bloom on Temp in tent is 69f Day 13 October 13th - 2018 Plants are showing more growth every day everything is working fine. Day 13 October 13th - 2018 0ne seedling fell over do to the way the root grew once the stem thickens up it will be fine. Day 14 October 14th - 2018 All plants showing more growth. Nutrient Solution is running a bit warm around 78f would like to have it around 68f. Day 14 October 14th - 2018 Watered the soil plant with 1/2 litre of R.O.W. Day 14 October 14th - 2018 Turned on Can-fan to try and drop the temp a bit. Day 14 October 14th - 2018 Moved Natural Wind Fan in front of the side left vent to bring in cooler air from the room.😎

Fixed it with a bit of black duct tape then a cover of black electrical tape tightly. Day 15 October 15th - 2018 Ladies are looking very healthy showing more growth daily.😃 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DAY 15 OCTOBER 15TH - 2018 Changing the hydro solution today going up to 2 ml per liter of Advanced Nutrients PH Perfect Micro. Grow & Bloom.😊 Day 15 OCTOBER 15TH - 2018 All D.W.C. systems cleaned and new nutrients added 2 ml per liter @ 16 liters = 32 ml of each Ph Perfect Micro,Grow & Bloom in that order. Will try to keep this solution for 2 weeks since Ladies are still small and not using much. Day 15 October 15th - 2018 also only mixed up 16 liters to lower the solution in bucket so roots will expand. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Day 16 October 16th - 2018 Hydro plants are looking great loving the higher Nutrients. Day 16 October 16th - 2018 All plants are showing more growth & Looking very good. Day 16 October 16th - 2018 Moved Natural Wind Fan to a better location to build up the plants stocks. Day 16 October 16th - 2018 Just found out from Advanced Nutrients that there Grow Micro & Bloom can also be used with plants in soil. it can be mixed the same as hydro. The Micro can also be used as foliar spray mixed 1 ml to 1 liter of water. Day 16 October 16th - 2018 Today will be the first watering with fertilizer for the plant in soil. Day 16 October 16th - 2018 Today plants got the first foliar spray using Advanced Nutrient Micro & just a light spray. Day 17 October 17th - 2018 Happy legalization day to all my Canadian friends. Day 17 October 17th - 2018 Still having a heat problem in the tent. I have made cooling blocks explained in picture above. Day 17 October 17th - 2018 For the ice packs I used Boston Pizza reusable large take out container filled with 3/4 of water and frozen. Day 17 October 17th - 2018 Opened all vents on tent, opened grow room window outside temp is 45 f & turned Canfan on low. Day 17 October 17th - 2018 The 6 homemade ice packs has cooled the tent down 10 degrees. Have 10 more freezing, when frozen I will put 8 in the tent at a time and just keep swapping them out every 5 hrs. Day 17 October 17th - 2018 Reservoir temps have gone down from 80 f to 76 f since ice packs put in. Day 18 October 18th - 2018 Changed ice packs temps in tent are fine put ice packs up against DWC buckets to cool the solution down abit. Day 18 October 18th - 2018 Gave plants a foliar spray today with 1 liter of RO water & 1 ml Advanced Nutrients Micro. Day 18 October 18th - 2018 Finally got the Temps down to a level I can live with for now. The plants in the DWC are growing slowly due to the solution being to warm the low 70's are fine since Co2 is being added. With the plants be able to use the Co2 every 6 hrs. on the light cycle of 6 on 2 off. Day 19 October 19th - 2018 Solution temps. are abit warm to today as per photos. Day 19 October 19th - 2018 The little lady on the right keeps falling over but is doing fine. The lady is healthy and this may be a good thing since I am doing scrog if in a few weeks if it keeps falling over I'll leave it and let it grow might end up a great scrog lady. Day 19 October 19th - 2018 Gave all the ladies a foliar spray this morning. Day 19 October 19th - 2018 Swapped out the ice packs this morning due to heat. Day 20 October 20th - 2018 The ladies are looking fine. The 2 in DWC are a bit slower due to the 1st week on straight RO water. Day 20 October 20th - 2018 Swapped out ice packs around DWC buckets to bring down temps in buckets. Day 20 October 20th - 2018 Gave all the Ladies a foliar spray this morning. {Remember if your ladies are unhappy your unhappy} Day 20 October 20th - 2018 Heat in tent has gone down this evening and DWC temp are in range. Day 20 October 20th - 2018 The ladies are 4" tall @ the end of week 3. They are very compact and each lady is starting to show branches. Day 21 October 21st - 2018 Temp in tent and solutions are lower and in range. Day 21 October 21st - 2018 Gave Ladies a foliar spray this morning will repeat in late afternoon. Day 23 October 23rd - 2018 The lady in soil is doing fine with the new fert mix. Day 24 October 24th - 2018 Foliar sprayed all Ladies. Day 34 November 3rd - 2018 This is the second defoliation and final. The final bit of defoliation was the larger sun leaves left this has been about 8 hrs from the first cut down. I do this to see what the first has done due to stress. If nothing wrong and Ladies are looking happy all is fine. Day 34 November 3rd - 2018 Gave the Ladies a 2nd shower tonight lessen stress for the hair cut. Day 35 November 4th - 2018 Ladies are looking fine the day after defoliation. It would be great lighting for seedling starts before putting them to 18 on 6 off. Since this was a experiment and a challenge from a article I read. Day 38 November 7th - 2018 Ladies had their morning shower.' Day 38 November 7th - 2018 Temp in tent 79.9 F. Day 38 November 7th - 2018 Humidity 21 % 👌 Day 38 November 7th - 2018 Solution temps are way high do to outside temps. of 41 F. 😟 Day 38 November 7th - 2018 Turning off bloom side of LED to bring heat down and hope the ladies will start to stretch for scrog net. Day 38 November 7th - 2018 Lowered LED 3 inches after turning off bloom part of light. Day 38 November 7th - 2018 Fed the lady in soil. She gets 1.5 liters per week divided up into 3 feedings per week.😋 Day 38 November 7th - 2018 Heat in tent has gone down 3.6 degree to 76.3 F with only veg setting on. Day 38 November 7th - 2018 Humidity has gone up from 20 % to 41 % since turning off the bloom setting on light. Day 38 November 7th - 2018 Temp in tent 70 F since using only Veg part of light.😃 Day 38 November 7th - 2018 Humidity is up to 44 % which is realy great.😁 Day 39 November 8th - 2018 Ladies are starting to put out some nice branching after light cycle changed. FIRST WEEK OF FLOWERING 😁😎👍 =============================================================================================== DAY 43 November 12th - 2018 Due to the light cycle of 6 on 2 off the Ladies have dwarfed. Today the light cycle will be changed to 12 on 12 off. After a few hrs.with the lights on the tent temp is up around 87 F & the humidity is around 76%. Day 99 January 13th - 2019 Ladies have been in the dark for 21 Hrs. Still 27 hrs to harvest. Day 99 January 13th - 2019 The temp in the tent is @ 72.5 F. & Humidity is @ 37 %.

This was my first grow in 14 years so the Tent & led lights are new to me. Both are great products very happy with them both. This was a relaxing grow due to weed now being legal in Canada, The seeds came from Crop King Seeds and were great quality. I germinated 3 and the 3 sprouted in a few days. I will continue to use all these products for the next grow. I will still be using Advanced Nutrients but will change to the Sensi ph perfect for Coco Coir. The Ladies are drying very well humidity is low around 30%. The yield is going to be low I figure from them being under the 6 on 2 off light cycle for 6 week stunted them badly. The way I figure it the grow went well for the first in 14 years. So the outcome is all due to the growers small mistakes. Will have more number just before they go into curing. January 19th - 2019 I had to trim and put Buds into Curing jars due to the humidity being so low Temp has been around 72/73 with a humidity of 19%. January 19th - 2019 Total Weight put in Curing Jars was 38 Gram. January 19th - 2019 As I have said before the low Yield was due to the plants being on the 6 on 2 off light cycle which stunted them, both of these issues were due to me running that light cycle for 6 weeks. The 6 on 2 off would be great for the first 2 weeks ( Seedlings ) Jan. 21st Buds are curing nicely have a very nice smell fruity & citrus Jan. 24th My son and his roommate got some of this harvest and to quote them "it's bomb" also we all have the same weed dealer lol
