This week was the transition week, fed the girls a little more with a little higher nutrient dose, next week they’ll be going into full flowering 🌺 mode, I’ll be adding a couple of GH supplements and starting a 12-12 hr schedule with my LED’s “Bloom” switch on 💡💡. Excited to see those flowers start forming!

Grow Questions

Is it ok to align the plants the way I did it? I just thought they could fill more space and be more comfortable that way. What do you think? Or is it better to put them all in the same direction?

I think it doesn't really matter how they are placed in the room provided they get the light they need , I always try to make it so that there is enough space for them to grow and not be touching each other but I mean you don't have too . I think your grow room is set up pretty good and the placement of your pots is pretty good . One thing I could suggest is maybe getting a Scrog this way when the go into flower at full force you can manage them a bit better if your running out of space . Everything seems to be in excellent order in this grow tho and I wouldn't change anything unless you feel like your plants are stressing but so far no signs of that ! I hope you find this helpful -Happy Growing!

Thanks man appreciate the advise! Those marks are really weird, they simply appeared on the Alakazams’ strain the day after topping them, they are nothing like I’ve ever read about, maybe I’m wrong but I think that it was just their way of saying “we did not like what you did to us” 🌱😔 haha, but’ll definitely check the magnesium whithin this Magical, it’s supposed to be the same as CaliMagic from GH but they did not have it when I bought the nutes so I went for that one, I’ve read they are the same but I’ll check! Will follow along your mainlining man, hope you have a great grow bro!

@MovingOn, Lol I thought that’s how I was commenting but I think I messed up. The wire I was using was supposedly “plant wire”, it was plastic coated but you were right man it was cutting through my plants, I removed it immediately after finding out but it still made me injured one of the girls real bad, half of one of them died when I broke it trying to train it 😔, you’ve got a great eye thanks for the advise!

MovingOncommented6 years ago
Hi again, Pura. It looks like you are following Nebula's Manifold well, but one comment I would make is that the wire you are using looks to be metal? I would recommend using plant ties and/or rubber coated wire. The metal can sometimes cut into the stems and leaves too easily. Anyways, you are doing okay, keep it up. :) Also, you can reply directly to a person's comment if you click on the word "Reply" below their comment. That way it is a direct reply and starts an individual thread per that comment.

Haha nice conversation coming from 2 great growers, wasn’t the intention though but I’m flattered it happened in my diary 👌🏻! Your different experiences have given you different ways of thinking but both amazing growers for a fact. Let’s agree that ultimately all we want is a massive harvest with premium quality buds right? 👈🏻👈🏻👈🏻 haha just kidding! Thanks for stopping by and for your comments fellas I appreciate you both, learned a lot and will definitely get me that lux meter 👌🏻. Happy growing!

They don't really need nutrients while they are seedlings, they grow from water and heat (light source). I would suggest you dump those basin nutes and just give em ph 5.8 water for the first week, top feeding every day to moisten the medium and their roots will seek out the water below. Good luck with your grow!

@BeefWellingtons, preference on that one =) Just have to extra careful!

@CRiSPrGrow, yes u’re right, not sure if I’ll veg it longer I think I’ll leave it to whatever she grows until the other 3 have grown enough to switch to flower, even this process is teaching me to be really patient 😂 I don’t think I’ll give it more time!
CRiSPrGrow
CRiSPrGrowcommented6 years ago
@PuraVidaG, can always keep veging the broken won so you'll always be able to pull what you want from it if you have the patience 😂

PuraVidaGcommented6 years ago
@GirlGoneWeed, 😅 it’s true isn’t it? As long as this mainline gives us great results I’m sure we’ll get over it lol! Thanks for the support, I’ll be following along your grow too, good luck with those NYC Diesel 👌🏻!

It’s heartbreaking when you snap a stem, especially a main stalk. But the cool thing about cannabis (all plants to an extent) is that if the wound was patched quickly without a lot of air getting into it - I spit on my fingers or directly on the wound if I can... the enzymes aid recovery - it will not only recover, but the cells that feed the tops will have expanded. It’s super cropping by accident. I use a Lux meter app on my phone that reads sun and white light correctly, but doesn’t read blurple so I don’t know how much light my plants get.@CRiSPrGrow does your Lux meter read blurple?
PuraVidaG
PuraVidaGcommented6 years ago
@growdoctordc, good tip to spit on it, wouldn’t have thought about it but makes sense! She’s a warrior, I didn’t think she was going to make it but she’s gorgeous 🌱😍

Hey Puravida, actually plants are really good at distributing the energy they get from light. But your intuition is correct in that different places in the grow room might recieve more or less lights. at this point there's like 8 leaves total so it doesn't matter yet. More leaves more light needed right? Anyway the only way to really tell is to use a lux meter, i got one from china it cost me 12 dollars including delivery. Just stick that thing at various locations and heights and see for yourself. That way you can place and orient the pots to optimise light coverage. I had a difference in several hundred / thousand lux depending or where my pots were placed in my 4x4. Hope this helps man ! 🚀

@OutForRealbeanCarib, lol, that's a silly thing to say but now you're being fasciatus 😩 can the seedlings absorb the light even with cool temps ? no... (but you don t know until you try right? so go for it and tell your boy!) So you protect the seedling by shooting light from a 2m distance... blasting seedlings from 2M with 1000W is that how we make the world a better place ? I'm out of this conversation. sorry brother, you're in a strange mood. 🚀
OutForReal
OutForRealcommented6 years ago
@CRiSPrGrow,By the way , you can start a seedling under 1000w , it's just a mater of distance between the light and the top of the plants , and also a problem of heat ! You will have less heat issue bay starting with 250w but if you think that it is related to the leaves I let you think that
CRiSPrGrow
CRiSPrGrowcommented6 years ago
@OutForReal, lol you just got the thing backwards, i think you think i said "more light makes the plant make more leaves", but that is simply not the case 😂 what i did I say? read it again 🍰 🚀

PuraVidaGcommented6 years ago
@MovingOn, man that’s what I did, I taped it really fast left for work and hoped it would get back up but it was all dead when I returned 😢. This Alakazam is turning to be a killer yielder, too bad it broke but it’s still making up with those buds 💪🏻. You have no idea how many other branches I broke and stems split 😂 but luckily the tape did work for all those 👌🏻.
MovingOn
MovingOncommented6 years ago
@PuraVidaG, my blueberry kush also broke in half. Luckily though, I grabbed some tape as fast as I could and taped it together, and it rebound itself back together. A week later it kept growing like nothing ever happened. Also, towards the end of the veg I accidentally snapped off a cola stem to the point where it was only hanging on by a few strings, but I quickly taped that one as well, and it didn't skip a beat.

One more thing, make sure your net pots are above the water. You want about 1cm of space above the water right now, with bubbles from your air stones gently splashing up underneath. Your top feeding will keep them happy until they are into the water basin. NO NUTES YET. Wait for about 1.5 weeks before you add nutrients and then at only 1/4th volume. (And add the hydroguard, but at recommended values, not crazy amounts as posted). Good luck to you on your grow!
BeefWellingtons
BeefWellingtonscommented6 years ago
@PuraVidaG, Ok, so this was for 4inch netpots. If you have 6 or 8 inch netpots and your grow plug is at the top of the basket then it's ok to submerge it like 1cm-1in for the first week or so, however the roots will grow towards the water so after you see some strands out the bottom and into the water you want to have a small gap of space in between the water and bottom of basket. My suggestion is 1cm for 4 inch basket, up to 1 inch for 8in basket, somewhere in between for 6in basket. Just need to make sure the bottom of basket is getting splashed by popping bubbles from your air stone/s. This is the key. Keep top feeding water daily until you have several roots down into the water.

@BeefWellingtons, thanks for the tips man, I read about both options nuted water since seedling and also ph’d water only and they both gave great results, I’m about to finish my first week and they seemed to have enjoyed the nutes but will try the “no nutes” water in the seedling week for my next grow and compare results. Thanks for the netpot tip I did not have them above the water level actually I submerged them 1 inch, I will reduce the water level then, should have the water cover the netpots at some point? If so when. Thanks man!

Very nice work so far man. Reminds me of my set up. Are you using a water pump to do reservoir swaps? Also, adjusting Ph in the individual buckets is a pain to do daily lol 💪 .your hydroguard says 40 tsp per gallon- i imagine that was a mistake? Good luck man - Ill be following along 😎
PuraVidaG
PuraVidaGcommented6 years ago
@HighTV, thanks man I appreciate the support! I’m not using a water pump for reservoir swaps , I’m doing it manually for now 😖, I’m thinking about I believe I didn’t think or read about until after I started. I’ll definitely be getting a water pump soon to make my life easier! Since you’ve worked with a similar set up before any tips are most welcome 👌🏻👌🏻, did you switch to another method?

Hello, Pura. The spots might look like a magnesium deficiency to me, but I'm not completely sure because of the coloring of the pictures. I'm not familiar with MagiCal, but does it have enough magnesium? You were saying earlier on my Acapulco Gold page that you were doing Nebula's Manifold and wanted to know if you had it right, and I believe it looks like you are on the right track for that. Although, I did start with Nebula's, but then switched to Nugbuckets' method since it seemed to be pretty close to the same timeline anyway. A good deficienty chart: http://loudclouds.co/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/marijuana-deficiency-chart-jorge-cervantes.jpg Nugbuckets' Mainlining: https://www.growweedeasy.com/mainlining-nugbuckets

Girls are looking nice! Looks like you’re off to a good start! I’m only on my second grow of 4 girls by far no expert at all but the deficiency looks like ph or calmag to me. I’d maybe raise nute strength a little and keep an eye on the new growth. I had that same problem my first grow 4 site recirculating system never confirmed what it was but I think it was not enough oxygen in my water. Hope you figure it out don’t know if this helps or not

PuraVidaGcommentedweek 36 years ago
Thanks man, I hope they continue that way, and that the one showing deficiencies can recover. Definitely more expert than me man 😅, I appreciate the advise, I’ve been maintaining ph daily and providing an appropriate MagiCal dose to all but I will try increasing the nute strength on this one and se how that goes. Did yours produced at the end when that happened to you? Good luck with the second grow man, hope it’s way better than the first one. Will follow along!
