began flowering this week. Scrog net is on the way and the canopy is solid af. plants have been trained to grow horizontally, and the leaves are touching both sides of the 4x4 tent. there are around 20 tops per plant. the smaller yellow plant is an old Flyin Hawaiian that I’ve thought was going to die since it sprouted but it keeps on trucking, so… 🤷♂️
Things are really exploding here. The buds on these plants are already stacking up after 2 weeks of 12/12. I’ve never seen so many bud sites on such a small plant. Everything is so tightly packed I can’t justify using the trellis net; I’d be smooshing the buds. Any time I move a branch there’s just more buds underneath it. Sadly I had to pull an amazing male bc i wasn’t set up to finish it and collect pollen. It would have been quite a breeder with hybrid fervor I’ve never seen in a male plant. Couldn’t be happier with this first tent grow so far.
I’m surprised the smaller plant is still alive. The yellowing is growing ever closer to taking over the sugar leaves but somehow the buds are still green and making new calyxes. the larger plant is almost perfect with some of the older fan leaves yellowing out. the buds get bigger and denser every day. they should really swell up the next couple weeks. the smell from both plants is almost identical orange, peach, spice with some skunk on the smaller plant and gas on the larger plant. like a stinky fruit cookie or dessert bread. the smell is on the strong side
I have been pulling off random little larf buds underneath the plant with male flowers. it hasn’t affected the whole of the plant thank god, and I’ve been able to catch them before they open up. I started feeding straight water for these last two waterings but I’m going back to a medium dose of nutes and cal mag
This plant is getting close. I thought it was gonna finish before day 60, but calyxes just started jutting out of the colas everywhere and it looks like she is gonna stack on some weight in this last week maybe 2 ? idk I didn’t have any information on this strain other than it was the breeders favorite two strains crossed. A few branches are sagging and actually the entire plant was tipping over in the pot and I had to tie it up today. Keeping a close eye on the trichomes with a usb microscope every day or two. I can’t wait harvest day!
I began straight water a couple days ago and the plants are pretty close under the microscope. The super frosty calyxes are showing a few light amber heads and the sugar leaves have some consistent amber throughout. It’s confusing because they still have so many new white hairs… hopefully done in the next few days because my 3x3 veg tent is maxed out with 6 plants that I need to move into the 4x4 for training
First grow in over 15 years completed. Feels great to get such a heavy yield from such a small plant. I had hoped for 4 plants but nature had a different plan. I learned a lot and can’t wait to share the finished product. My basement stays at 60f all year round so I have the best place to dry plants ever, I’m able to keep my 3x3 veg tent at exactly 59-61 degrees without an AC. I’m very lucky to have that.
Quite a learning experience this first tent grow. I’ve learned more about growing while this run has been drying 😂 Anyways, I ended up with one very short but very bushy plant. The buds weren’t as dense as I’m used to, but this was my first sativa heavy grow. 7.5 oz or 210g from one plant is pretty good for my first run in almost 20 years.
