Week 0: Germination
In a bold leap of faith, I've chosen to grant Humboldt Seed Company another chance, graciously acknowledging their double replacement for a batch of less-than-stellar seeds – a heartfelt thank you to HSC. Anticipation swells as Golden eagerly awaits the unfolding weeks. The ladies, submerged in water, now rest within the comforting embrace of paper towels. Stay tuned for the upcoming updates in this riveting chronicle. 🌱✨
Week 1: A Rollercoaster of Green Dreams
Embarking on this week's journey, Golden set sail with high hopes, only to hit rough waters. The thrill turned to a bittersweet ride as #2 succumbed and dampened off, casting a shadow over the garden. With only 3 out of 10 seeds sprouting, Golden's expectations clashed with reality, leaving him questioning the Humboldt Seed Company's promise.
In a quest to illuminate the path forward, Golden acquired a powerful 36W spiral LED, infusing newfound energy into his green endeavor. The quest for a flourishing garden intensifies as Golden gears up to transition his ladies outdoors, determined to turn the tide in favor of a thriving crop.
Week 3 Unveiled: A Twist in the Green Tale
In a plot twist fueled by unfortunate circumstances, the visual chronicles of week 2 have vanished – my deepest regrets. Fear not, for the garden pulses with life, presenting intriguing revelations:
Behold #1, a botanical powerhouse, standing tall with impeccable growth—poised for the imminent dance of topping and transplant.
Alas, #2 has bid us farewell – may she rest in horticultural peace.
Witness #3, mirroring the triumphs of #1, evolving harmoniously in the shadows of her sister.
#4 emerges as the wild card—an eccentric, leggy bean, flaunting signs of mutation and unconventional growth. Anticipation brews for her imminent transformation.
As you delve into this green saga, your comments, likes, and continued companionship ensure this narrative thrives. Join the journey for weekly installments of this captivating chronicle.
Week 4: Unleashing the Unexpected in the Grow Haven
Prepare for a rollercoaster as our green queens transition into a 20L fabric pot, embracing a feast of dry amendments. The stage is set in a veg tent adorned with a QB 240W Samsung Diodes LM301B, an inline fan, a carbon filter, and the four-cornered symphony of 20L pots.
Hold your breath, for a new entrant graces the scene – the enigmatic Grape Diamonds R2, a clone from Ethos Genetics. Will she dance harmoniously with the Garlic Budder ladies in the flowering spectacle ahead?
#1 emerges as the star, gracefully topped twice and now poised for a floral crescendo in just fourteen days. The countdown begins.
#3, the steadfast contender, grows uniformly, adorned with the armor of diatomaceous earth to repel any insect invaders.
#4, the rebel, defies norms with an uneven growth pattern, three main tops sprouting in defiance of the usual solo act. Will this unconventional dance impact the final yield? The suspense thickens.
Embark on this thrilling journey and hit that like button, fellow cultivators. Weekly updates await for those hungry for the highs and lows of our cannabis chronicle.
Week 5: Tragedy Strikes
As the New Years approached Golden believed it would be wise to go on a little two week holiday. In the meantime he setup a 400L reservoir and filled it half way. Due to inexperience the water had no airstone and as a result became a bit stinky. The ladies did not like this water. I solely believe this slomely water is the reason we lost the Grape Diamonds R2.
Week 7
When Golden returned from his epic 14-day hiatus, his green goddesses greeted him with drooping leaves and wilted spirits. Determined to revive his beloved ladies, he embarked on a mission. Armed with his trusty PH tester, he plunged into the heart of the issue and uncovered a shocking revelation: the PH level had skyrocketed to an alarming 11! Without hesitation, Golden sprang into action, flushing the medium and restoring balance to a perfect 6. But he wasn't done yet. With the finesse of a seasoned cultivator, he lavished his ladies with a nourishing top dress feeding, infusing life back into their weary stems. And in a bold move to preserve their precious genetics, Golden deftly took clones, ensuring that the legacy of his exceptional strain would endure. As the tendrils of hope began to unfurl once more, Golden stood tall, a champion among growers, his dedication unwavering, his passion unyielding.
Week 9: LST Completed
After an interesting few weeks the ladies have finally bounced back and the clone has finally rooted. Strangely enough the clone went into flower even though she was under an 18w led for 20h a day. Anyway reveg will be very beneficial come time to take clones from our new mother. Otherwise our main 3 ladies are looking healthy and almost ready to flower
Week 10: Shaping up
After the tragedy of losing the Grape Diamonds, our good friend offered up another clone - RQS Apple Fritter. Golden hopes to keep her in the same pot throughout the flowering phase. Otherwise things are looking promising and we are approaching the end of the vegetative period
Week 11: preparation
Over the last few weeks the ladies have been shaping up quite nicely. I am satisfied with their overall growth. As a result I have defoliated the ladies down to the 3rd and 5th node. Let’s watch them grow back during flower
After some trial and tribulations Golden has decided to revive this diary. The ladies have been in vegetation for 90 days and it’s time to flower them. Golden is skeptical that the tent is too small but with the aggressive pruning and defoliation hopefully we will be okay. Unfortunately the Grape Diamonds did not make it and have been replaced with Apple Fritter from RQS. Bless the homie that gave her to me
Week 2 (Day 7): Flower
After the defoliation of last week we’ve been greeted with explosive growth. The way things are continuing we will have to defoliate again at the start of week 3. The stretch has set in nicely, and we are planning on adding a scrog net in the 3rd week of flower. Otherwise the Apple fritter is noteably smaller than the rest and hope she catches up in height
Week 3: Day 14
Golden notes that the previous week has presented many challenges requiring unique solutions. The ladies responded so well to their initial defoliation that we had to preform another defoliation on day 14 to keep the humidity levels down. Do not forgot that this is a tiny 60x60x180cm tent so airflow is essential. Otherwise the ladies are doing fantastic, no deficiencies and no nutrient burn, simply perfect and happy plants.
#3 is growing well. She is very bushy and stretching the most. All of her branches are thick indicating some promising weight in the coming weeks
#2 is growing the slowest - however she has tight internode spacing and is very bushy. She has produced some large fan leaves but they have since been removed
#1 is growing like a monster. Her stems are thick and dense. She is slightly stretchy but is nothing compared to sister #3
#Apple fritter is growing well. I believe she is severely root bound but due to lack of space she will have to remain in her small restricted pot. Her structure is nice and she will receive a defoliation in the next 7 days
If you’ve made it this far please leave a like on the diary and share your thoughts in the comments - Golden
Week 4: Day 21
The stretch is finally over and the ladies have been successfully defoliated. All energy is now being put into trichome production and sensing up. Even the larger fan leaves are developing trichomes. Golden adding more nutrients to the soil - Bat guano at 15ml per liter of soil. Harvest is getting closer by the day.
Week 5 Flower (Day 28): Unveiling the Potent Promise
In this electrifying stage of growth, our beloved ladies have undergone a remarkable transformation, becoming denser and exuding an intoxicating increase in trichome production. Picture this: trichomes so abundant they spill over onto the grand fan leaves, promising a harvest of unparalleled potency just five weeks from now. Can you feel the anticipation building?
Our resilient Apple Fritter may not have reached the towering heights we envisioned, but don't let her modest stature deceive you. Basking in a modest 400-500 PPFD, she's a testament to resilience. Meanwhile, our Garlic Butter Ladies reign supreme at the zenith, luxuriating in a lavish 1000 PPFD. The stage is set for a captivating showdown of heights and yields.
Ah, the aromas! The Garlic Butter strain wastes no time in announcing its presence with a pungent bouquet of garlic that permeates every nook and cranny of my humble abode. Even my skeptical partner, a non-grower, can't help but acknowledge the aromatic spectacle with a chuckle.
Stay tuned, fellow cultivators, for the saga unfolds further. Drop a like, hit that follow button, and let's embark on this journey together.
Week 6: Day 35 - A Triumph in Cultivation Mastery
This week has been nothing short of spectacular in the realm of our cannabis cultivation journey. Golden, our master grower, made a pivotal move by introducing a second fan beneath the lush canopy of our grow room. This strategic addition has orchestrated a symphony of airflow, nurturing our precious plants in an environment that borders on perfection.
The ladies, oh, the ladies! They've transformed into sticky, aromatic marvels that defy belief. Trichomes adorn every inch of foliage, creating a sight that leaves one speechless. Save for the elusive Apple Fritter, whose charms lie in its uniqueness, our plants stand as testament to the artistry of nature.
Tomorrow marks a crucial feeding day, with a meticulously calculated dose of 10ml per liter of soil. But it doesn't stop there. In our relentless pursuit of excellence, Golden executed a strategic defoliation, selectively removing fan leaves and minor popcorn growth to optimize light penetration and airflow. Yet, the climax awaits us next week on day 42, as we embark on the final defoliation, shedding the last vestiges of larf and popcorn.
Amidst this flourishing paradise, Golden seeks to elevate his photography skills to match the splendor of our cultivation. Any insights or tips from fellow enthusiasts would be warmly welcomed!
For those who have journeyed alongside us to this point, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. As a token of appreciation, we invite you to leave a link and pose any questions you might have. Golden stands ready, eager to share his wisdom and experience with the community.
Week 7 flower: Day 42
Things have been going well in the garden. All the ladies are rock solid and starting to fall over but the buds themselves are not very big. The ladies responded very well to their final feeding, hopefully they use this boost to fatten up.
One problem in the grow that has arisen is one bud site leaves have gone all brown and feel dried out, however, the nug is unaffected. RH is sitting around 45% and temperatures are about 28°C during peak heat times. What could be causing this?
If you’ve made it this far, please show your support in the comments, all the best
