Started seed in a glass of water, soaked overnight and it had sank by morning.
Into paper towel morning of 06/12.
Will update when she's tapped root!
Update 07/12
Seed had tapped root this morning so put into a starter pot with BioBizz All Mix.
Soil primed with BioBizz Root Juice @ 4ml p/L dosage.
10/12/23 - Day 1 of Vegetation.
Welcome to the manifold project diary!
Big big plans for this run, hedging my bets on a singular plant, seeing what the biggest yield I can achieve is in a 2ftX2ft space!
I will be aiming for an ambitious manifold on this girl, but until then it's business as usual.
Will let her grow with zero interference until she's got about 5 nodes then we get choppy!
She's in a .5L starter pot for now, planning two transplants total into final pot. She will end up in a 20L airpot.
Going full biobizz organic range with this grow as always ❤️ feeding with Root Juice, pH adjusted with lemon juice.
Environment controlled via inkbird wireless humidity and temperature controls.
18/12 Update;
Day 8 of vegetation.
Growing really well so far! Still filling out the pot for now but transfer time will be soon.
Started feeding today, using BioBizz organic range.
20/12 Update;
Day 10 of vegetation.
Leaves have reached the edge of the pot now, some roots starting to poke through the bottom of the pot too. Will give it another couple of days then transfer into a bigger pot 👍
22/12 Update;
Day 12 of vegetation
Time to transfer!
Slight upgrade from 1L to 3L pot size, just a bit more room to build a solid foundation before the move into the final pot.
3rd node coming in now, won't be making cuts for the manifold until we have 5 healthy nodes.
Update 27/12;
Day 17 of Veg
Things still running really smooth, really good colour on the leaves.
Fully recovered from transfer and growing really well, next transfer up to final pot due on 29/12.
There is some down turning of the leaves but I think this may be due to the lack of drainage in the pot, I wouldn't use this kind of pot for cannabis usually but it's all I had access to at the time.
She will be going into a 20L airpot, left 2 days to settle then will begin cutting for manifold as her 5th node is now coming in. Hopefully this transition will give the roots a lot more breathing space and I should see a difference after she's in her final pot.
UPDATE 29/12;
Day 19 of Veg
Big day today as it's transfer day! Going from 3L pot up to her 20L final resting place. Looking rather sad in the photos as left her to dry a little before transfer and is no doubt feeling some shock from the transfer itself.
Will leave until 01/01 to settle in before starting the cuts for the manifold.
UPDATE 01/01/24!
Day 22 of Veg!
Let me start of by wishing everyone a happy new year! May your grows be smooth and your harvests bountiful!
It's been another strong growth period, she has settled nicely into the 20L air pot, still maintaining a lovely colour and picked up growth within 12 hours of transfer.
In keeping with the schedule the first and most important cuts were made for the start of the mainline. She was just popping her 6th node before cutting, she was topped just above the 3rd node and everything below stripped.
Now starts the process! Aiming to stop at 8 arms and flip, I am tempted to veg a bit longer and aim for 16. I'll make my mind up in the coming weeks! 😂
Current mainline tops: 2.
UPDATE 07/01/23
Day 28 of Vegetation
Another strong week! No complaints really.
Colour is strong and the plant recovered from first round of topping and pinning really well.
Both sides had a nice 4th node coming in so made the second round of cuts.
Same again topped at the 3rd node and stripped everything below. Will let these grow out and the symmetrical frame I'm trying to create should really begin to show.
Still haven't decided on one or two more rounds of cuts, it's the difference between 8 colas and 16. I'm unsure wether I'll be pushing the plant too hard at 16 or wether I will be underutilizing the pot space keeping her at 8.
Any thoughts on this appreciated!
Current top count: 4
UPDATE 18/01/24
Day 39 of vegetation
And just like that, disaster strikes.
The slight break in the stem turned out to be a huge problem as the plant tried to grow. I took a hands off approach as I understand I'm applying a lot of stress so I thought leaving her to do her own thing and work around the tear would work but unfortunately, it didn't.
Checked this morning for a water and the entire arm is dying. No real option but to snip her so we just lost a 1/4 of the yield.
These things are always a risk when doing high stress techniques and I'll learn for next time from this.
Onwards and upwards, she will still be magnificent in the end and hopefully will just produce bigger yields from the fruiting sites that will be available.
UPDATE 14/01/24
Day 35 of vegetation
Yet another smooth week!
Been a full week of recovery since the last round of tops and she has recovered really well.
Colour still perfect and growth is nice and steady, tops pushing out their second nodes now so will be ready for another round of topping by the end of week 6.
I did a slight boo boo and break a branch while pinning down but its a very slight break and she will recover fine I'm sure (pictured).
I think at this point by the time I've grown out to 8 tops I'll have lost all patience with veg so I'll probably flip when the 8 tops have all established.
See you next Sunday folks!
UPDATE 01/02/2024
Day 53 of Veg
Well it's been a while since I've posted. I've been super busy!
Obviously loosing a quarter of the plant was a hit but it pushed on my decision to take her through one more round of tops.
It's been pretty smooth since then and she's grown out nicely.
This morning I did the final round of topping and stripping, still topping at the 3rd and stripping below.
She's looking very bare right now but we've finally reached the 12 tops we were hoping for.
Now it's time to set the frame over the next week as she's growing out, then I'll have a big tent clean and flip her into flower.
In terms of feeding I'll start to introduce feeding nutrients this week in half doses, switching to full dosing with the light switch in a week.
See you on the next update!
Day 65
Day 6 of flower
Hey! Back again with another update!
Again had a lot on so not updated for a week. In that time I've had another hit to the plant but as you can see through the pics she's really recovered healthily.
I don't think I accounted for how strong this plants genetics were and through the process I've been pinning the plant to create a frame for the mainline.
For the second time in the project she's grown through the pin and snapped an arm 😆 so I've gone from 12 tops after the last loss to 10.
All is well though because she's a beast, feeding nutrients are in full swing now and the frame I've managed to set is beautiful 😍
She's well and truly starting to stretch but I've got the height in the tent for it as I've managed to keep the frame low.
Now to sit back, keep adjusting feeds and watch the magic happen!
Day 90
Day 31 of flower.
Hey dudes and dudettes!
Another huge gap in update times! My apologies, life just has a funny way of distracting me 😂
Everything is running super smooth, absolutely no complaints this plant is a breeze to grow.
She's chunky, she stinks and she's frosty as hell for halfway through.
Really excited to see how she matures and how the terps develop, the dank cheese coming out of the tent is insane, time to fit the old carbon filter!
Really excited to see what she yields too, flowers are super dense to the touch and she still has so long to go.
Feeding to the regular biobizz feed chart every other day and feeding homemade banana tea once a week!
24/03/24
Day 105
Day 46 of flower
I'm just gunna open this up by saying I am super proud of my work here.
Terps are loud, makes my mouth water whenever I open the tent. She looks pretty magnificent, bud structure is thick and super dense, she's dense from top to bottom too!
Proper caked in diamonds, just hope she hits like I think she's going to.
Definitely towards the back end of the project now, plan on running feed until at least 3rd April then start a 10 day min flush!
Day 113
Day 54 of flower.
I am sooooo close now! Trichomes looking nice and cloudy and a few amber here and there.
I had always planned to feed until 3rd April then start a flush so everything is looking right on time.
I'll be flushing for 7-10days then cutting her down!
Excited to see how she yields, the buds are so thick and dense ☺️
