First week of growth going smoothly. It's slightly cool, I'm starting to distill fertilizer slowly. Kiss

Second week of growth. The first repotting took place directly in a 3.7l geotextile pot. I'm starting to incorporate larger quantities of fertilizer by integrating the rest of the organic booster at the base. Kiss

All's well with the little one. A classic week, for the moment I'm letting her grow at her ease and take another tier before doing the last repotting and the first apex pruning. The transition to 12/12 is scheduled for the end of the month if all goes well. Kiss

This is it, important changes took place this week, the last repotting before flowering, which surprisingly went rather badly... The potting soil must have been too dry at the time of transplanting, and a lot of roots were pulled out... The new pot is 10L. It's filled with the same mix, Biobizz Light Mix. After 4 days in the new pot, apex pruning was carried out. This was followed by a series of defoliations, as the large feeder leaves totally blocked light to the lower levels. Kiss

Following apex pruning and defoliation, the plant looks really sad and bare, which almost makes me sad to see it like this. But I've got no choice but to hope for an acceleration in the growth of the secondaries, which have fallen so far behind, notably because of my mistake when repotting. I've also installed a small net to allow me to organize a plant tissue to optimize light capture by the secondaries. Kiss

Today I'm moving up to 12/12. I'm going to take advantage of the stretching to finish organizing the different branches in the net. I think I've rushed the changeover to flowering because of the delays caused by my potting mistake and my delay in pruning. However, I can't afford to wait much longer because of the upcoming rise in temperatures. I already let myself get caught out last year, with the result that the plants dried too quickly due to high temperatures at the very end of flowering, so I'm trying to finish the indoor session a little earlier this year... A surprise this week: pistils appear, signalling the start of flowering. D-1 Flowering on January 13, 2024. I would have liked to have been able to develop the plant tissue a little more by taking advantage of the stretching, too bad, I wasn't mistaken, the light change was made one or two weeks too early... It doesn't matter. I'll probably thank myself at the end of flowering and during drying. Kiss

The first real week of flowering is coming to an end, and with it the last major pruning to permanently trellis the branches, organizing them so that each bud has access to light. The first dose of flowering fertilizer should be delivered in the next few days. I can't wait to see the buds grow and bloom, and I can tell you that the smell is already quite noticeable as soon as the tent is opened. Fortunately, the charcoal filter is doing its job extremely well and no smell is escaping at the moment. Kiss

Not much change this week, the little one is growing slowly in a cooler climate, so much so that I thought I'd see purplish hues appearing, but nothing so far, just a lovely light green. You can see that the buds have already started to swell, and the scent is already present and getting stronger by the day. Some of the leaves below the netting are starting to turn yellow due to lack of light. I'm thinking of defoliating them again in a few days, once their condition has deteriorated a little. Kiss

The little one is still flowering and I have the impression that it's showing slight signs of deficiency, but the buds are starting to swell and the smell is becoming more and more noticeable when I open the mini-tent. This week I started using Green Sensation when watering, and I've been very happy with it so far, despite the fact that it's not 100% organic. I think it's a good idea to add small quantities of fertilizer, some of it mineral, at certain key moments, as in this case when the fruit is getting bigger and the first signs of deficiency appear. Doing a good job. She flipped a bit early didn't she? Why she's a bit away from the net? You did a nice job getting to fill the net out. Very little stretch from her Enjoy your scrog. Nice 2 c it done right.

@gottagrowsometime, Thanks man! I'm proud of her, she's recovered well since my repotting mistake, but I do think she missed 1 or 2 weeks of growth, I was hoping for a little more stretching but that's the way it is. If I hadn't slowed down the growth when I repotted it, it would surely have been better... I learn from my mistakes! :)

Looking good! What do you think of RQS so far vs other breeders?
Awwwards
Awwwardscommenteda year ago
@PlantMike, To be quite honest I don't have much experience with rqs seeds, only 2nd sessions, but so far I'm satisfied, the seed spent 1 year in my fridge and it left without any worries, it grows very well, smells very good, and during my first session with them, a wedding cake the yields were good with a very good quality! Without claiming to be able to offer a real opinion and feedback in my opinion RQS has an interesting value for money. It will come down to the variety selected, as not all varieties are equal, and I'd always advise you to find out more on a case-by-case basis, as some breeders hybridize their preferred varieties in-house and don't recycle or copy them in lower quality. All this to say that I think it's hard to generalize about the quality of companies as big as RQS or Sensi Seeds humboldt ect... I hope I've been able to help you :)
