Okay so I'm seeing some flowering at last! One of the plants is really tall compared to the others which I am worried will be an issue as I don't have a great deal of height left so I did a mix of tying down and supercropping the taller tops.
I mentioned I think a week or 2 ago about my use of a dehumidifier but I never did add a picture. Just to recap I have a 32pint dehumidifier with a 5" Planko bread crumbs tube duct taped to the exhaust side and fed into the tent. The tents exhaust flex tube is then placed in front of the dehumidifiers air intake with a customized cheezits box duct taped in a way to try and capture a bit more of the tents exhaust air. The idea being that the air entering the dehumidifier would be a bit dryer and warmer than the air in the basement. As an added bonus this thing is pulling around 1.25 to 1.5 gallons of water a day which I then use for my nutrient solution. So yeah hillbilly ingenuity!
For a first time grower getting a photoperiod sold as an autoflower was a real bummer. I've done so much defoliation and branch pruning just to try and salvage this grow.
Nice plant! I can relate with the auto/photo confusion. Same thing happened to me, I ordered some autos for my first ever grow... and they weren't autos. They were growing for about 4 months (4 months of "oo! Maybe it's starting to flower now") until I finally decided to flip the lights. If it happened now, I'd know exactly what was happening, but for the first grow? I though the same as you. At least you got an absolute BANGER of a plant out of it though. Looks fkin awesome!
@Stelfboy, Thanks man. Now if something like that happens in the future we know what to do! I've been growing Fastbud seeds lately and really like what I've seen. Growing does not feel like work and is really enjoyable. My grow area is my place of zen.
@Libanese, That was my lack of experience. I thought since I started seeing the lady parts showing on the stems that was the sign of flowering starting. Adding to the confusion these were sold as 'Autoflowers' which they were not.
@XLABX, Yeah they are insanely tall. At this point I'm just hoping the one in the back does not grow any taller since the light is nearly maxed out in height.
Beautiful jungle! 💚 Sad to hear flowering didn't trigger on these genetics yet.
How did they respond to the 12 hour light switch? Maybe 24 hours darkness needed to force?
@XLABX, 12 hour has been going on for about a week. From what I've read it takes around 3 or 4 weeks or so to see the flowers. I will keep my journal updated but nothing special seems to be happening at the moment.
Breadcrumbs, duct tape, Cheezits, bungie zip, flex tube, box with more duct tape.... Now I'm hooked! Let me grab some 🍿
Beautiful turnaround with these ladies, I love what I am seeing 💚
