Both plants have been transplanted into AC Infinity heavy duty 5 gallon fabric pots and are sitting on top of AC Infinity self-watering pot bases. Soil is a natural compost I’ve been feeding for over a year. Seeing some slight clawing which I hope is just the plants getting used to the new medium.

I’m having mixed success with one plant doing fantastic despite only recently being seeded while the other continues to show signs of trouble.

Grow Questions

Having issue with one of my plants. In 3rd week of veg but I’m seeing significant issues. Last week it began to show signs of what I thought was overwatering and potentially light burn so I pulled back on watering and raised the LED to be 25" vs. 14" however it hasn’t improved.

Your medium looks all around bad brother. I see algae growth on top, indicating you absolutely over watered and your soil has become a bit aenerobic. Start over my friend and make sure your soil has enough aeration in it so it drains properly and gets enough oxygen to the root zone.

You can't drop your humidity and raise the temperature. Cultivate the top of your soil but be careful not to touch the tender roots or stem. And get some wind blowing around over the top of that soil with a oscillating fan. And DONT WATER THAT FUCKER TILL YOUR POT FEELS LIGHT TO PICK UP :) I like when plants fuck up like this. It's a fun challenge to do what i mentioned and see if you can bounce her back. It's great to just grow for yourself and not for profit because there's a i don't stress about killing plants attitude that comes with it, It's nice.

suffocated from water logged soil. If you can't get that soil to dry out fast she's done for.

Finally starting to get a slight odor. I added LSTs, my first time doing so as this is only my 2nd grow. Feeding and watering solely thru the self-watering bases in an effort to create a deep root system.

Flowering has started and plant has grown 10" in just a week. I am noticing a slight burn at the tips of the leaves so I’ve opted to do a flush for the next week or so suspecting a nutrient lockout due to overfeeding and evaporation in the self-watering pot. I’ve also removed most of the LSTs as the bottom branches have spread out horizontally as expected. I will look to re-add some new LSTs as needed in the upper layers.

unfortunately the leaves don't appear to have gotten any better. i still suspect nutrient lockout due to salt buildup especially w/the appearance of santa's beard on the cloth pots (first time using cloth). i just performed a deep flush of the self-watering pot and filled it up using a strong mix of pH down and tap water. no nutes this week until i get this lockout under control. on the positive side, trichomes have made an appearance and the smell is coming in nicely. i added more LSTs in an effort to spread the buds but have opted not to top this grow.

this was a disaster but lots of valuable lessons learned. nutrient lockout started around week 5 and got drastically worse. not even a re-planting was able to save it. moving forward i'll be abandoning soil in favor of a coco coir-based medium which should work seamlessly with my cloth pots and wicking system.

thanks all for chiming in on my grow question, tons of amazing feedback from folks. just to sum it up. * use better soil * water less * hold back on using ferts for the first few weeks * not all seeds will make it just because they germinate keep the feedback coming!

None of them are looking good, 3 weeks old plant should be much bigger, even a healthy looking one is stunt. i think they don't like much your soil made of compost, also it's said on your diary you fed them some nutrient on second week ... plant that small don't need to be fed until they get noticeably bigger

@jackiedaytona, 1,5 weeks it's good then. 👍

@HerbalEdu the healthy looking plant is actually only 1.5 weeks old as the original plant was stunted so I replaced it but neglected to start a new diary for it. point taken on the compost and i'll update my feeding per your advice. thanks!

Unfortunately it didn’t work out for this one despite a last ditch effort at saving it with a replanting.
the end.
