Catch up to 1-2-24 Seedlings started great. One of the Pineapple Kush seeds had helmet head and lost on of the first leaves. The other appears to be a runt. Had some worries but it seems to be pulling through. First true leaves started developing on the PXL's. Mixed 1 gallon batch at what I thought was 1/4 strength. I know I mixed the Base A and Base B at 25%. However, I did not see the additives also had some K in it, and mixed it at minimum dose listed on chart. I may be causing a nutrient toxicity on the K side. My gut tells me to flush but I only gave 5ml to 4/5 plants. I am giving the runt more time to spring back. Only time will tell. Tent environment is still giving slight trouble. Sensor and humidifier RH don't line up at all. Set to 80% humidity. Temps seem to hover around 71°F lights on. Ordered a controller plug for the heat. Hopefully that will curb the temps at night and not over heating the plants. Need to upload pics each day! 1-3-24 Plants looked great after small dose of nutrients. No deficiencies. Used same mix as day before, checked PH and found it at 6.03. PH Down to 5.89 using dropper. Took 8 drops roughly to bring it down. Removed heat matt and tote lid out of tent and place the tote inside. Gave each plant roughly 200-250ml of nutrients. 1-4-24 My fear was confirmed with slight tip burns on first true leaves. Corrected with 5.8 PH RO water, no additives. Received AC Infinity outlet controller and hooked up heater to help maintain temps. Humidifier was turned on to constantly run. Exhaust fan will take care of humidity levels. 1-5-24 Checked plants during lights off after work. Green as can be. Will continue with just PH corrected RO water only. Also need to clean humidifier and replace with RO water. Did not know the humidifier used ultrasonic to vaporize the water. Calcium is starting to build up. Need to keep this in check so that I am not getting confused with powdery mildew. 1-11 Plants have been through some ups and downs. Giving 1ml/gal of CalMag ph water. Forgot to record ppm and ph before adding calmag, but water has been consistent at 22 ppm and 5.89 ph over the past few days of checking water before refilling humidifier just to get used to a baseline after ro. With call mag added, ph is 5.91. Ppm is 88. Each plant but the pineapple kush2 got fed. Some plants had very little runoff, which is good. That means the environment adjustments have been working. VPD target is .8 to 1.2 with Temps set to 71 with 2% buffer and hum set to 69% with 3% buffer.

Hello! First grow in coir. I have grown in the past, but never in coir. I want to believe I am over watering. I never see the coir go dry, and will wait 2 to 3 days before watering based on cup weight. Girls look great otherwise. Am I over thinking here?

Looks like a little over watering going on. Get that soil dried out as fast as you can. Then just sprinkle a light amount of water when the cup feels light to pick up. Then you give it a little splash, not a big drink. It only has the infrastructure to take up a little water, but a huge dump of it.... The result of a huge dump is water logged soil that won't allow for oxygen to get into the space because it's filled with water. They won't breath, they'll get droopy and start yellowing and just look sad. If your really unlucky root rot will set in. You'll know if thats happened by the sad state of which your plant looks, and when you go to move out of your solo cup into your next pot, you'll see sort of amber or, i dunno how to describe the colour, but if they aren't nice and while, but kind of a light caramel colour goin on, thats root rot. That shit will spread and kill your plant. You'll need a cellulase enzyme that eats cellulose aka dead and rotting organic material. I use Hygrozyme personally, but there are other companies that make their own, like sensizyme by advanced nutrients, among others.

Drainage holes, watering daily with right ph and feed 4x if you can, collect all run off, use grafity and trolley, for it never stand in it. Even unbuffed coco will even out. Girl should be fine. Worst case you learned and will lose 2 weeks if second attempt ...

Thanks all. I'm running the Cana Coco + which should have been pre-buffed. I know others that run this right now and for years without issues. Cups do have drain holes and the nutrient line that i have did come with enzymes to use. Just been afraid to tack on nutrient issues on top of general watering issues to run the 1/4 dose. However, I transplanted today and will be updating my journal with specifics. Thought process was to use new dry medium with increased ratio of 80/20 for future waters after recovery to help wick away that moisture around the root zone. It's the safest thing I could think of to get the area dried out. Roots looked white and healthy for the ones I could see. On a whim i got a hygrometer just to check to see if my 69 pro controller was calibrated correctly. I have the exhaust to run when VPD drops below .8 and keep it between .8 and 1.2. My lord my controller calibration was way off. Tent was actually at 80° which is OK, but my humidity was nearly 10% lower than what the 69 Pro was reading. I adjust the calibration to the hygrometer and we will see. Lights off now till 8pm. I may have been running the environment way to dry for them to transpire and take up that water as there are plenty of root structure for them to do that at this point. 50ml is just shy of a 1/4 cup, and every 2-ish days, it kind of makes sense that my environment may be the culprit. I'm just glad I have some experience under my belt to trust my gut. Let's see if it pays off.
