This time we are trying with photosensitive plants instead of auto flowering, as we were interested in techniques such as topping, fimming and scrogging. We are growing 2 strains, both from Barneys Farm in the Netherlands, and are excited to see them grow the coming months. The seedlings have popped up after a little week, and were ready to be transplanted to larger pots. From here they are placed in our grow tent with the LED lights.

A week has passed and the plants have settled in. We start the first nutrient feed, according to BioBizz's feeding schedule. There is not much interesting going on yet, and we are keeping the light at a maximum distance to the plants for the time being.

We decided to lower the lights to 60cm above the plant. The plants are now on the nutrient schedule as well, and we take our first bigger risk by topping off the plants after the 3rd or 4th node.

The plants growth have really picked up speed. We saw a positive effect of the topping within 1 week. This encouraged us to top the two new nodes coming from the split nodes. We have not yet done any LST, but should probably get to it as our grow tent is limited to 145 cm in height.

We have observed extensive growth this week. The nodes have explodes after being topped, and we think this is a good time to deploy the Screen of Green. The plants have been slightly low-stress trained, and hopefully we can spread the growth horizontally even further before going into flowering.

The grow is slowly pushing up towards the SCRoG-net and we are holding back on branches trying to out-race others. I am contemplating switching to flowering , but unsure if it is too early.

Flipped the lights to 12/12 a week ago and the plants have started stretching. Trying to defoliate to let more bud-sites get light.

Flowers are starting to appear. We have defoliated heavily this week to expose more buds to the light. Hopefully this will yield some nice results :)

This week we experimented with adding another nutrient, the Big Plant Science's Bud Explosion. I have also noticed some yellow spots on the bottom leaves of the plant and suspect a Nitrogen deficiency, either that or we went overboard with the new chemical nutrient. We will see in time :) The smell actually dropped quite a bit since last week. It is no longer apparent in the apartment (even without carbon filter).

This week was quite eventful. We had bugs! Panic struck and we set off to the grow shop to find a remedy for the disease. It turns out that the bugs are easily cureable by spraying the underside of the leaves with some plant soap. So we have layed doom upon those fearful mites and sent them into oblivion as we venture into another week of delightful green growing bliss. In other words, it looked like it worked.

Height growth has come to a halt. The laughing Buddha has overtaken the Cookies Kush significantly and buds have started growing in size.

This week we have been combatting the tiny bugs that are gathering on the leaves. I am still spraying down with plant soap and remove dead leaves. The plant still seems healthy though, and I have finally gotten a new lamp, which I will be looking forward to showing off in the next grow.

My plants have started getting spots on the leaves for 2 weeks now. I found some tiny bugs on the underside of the leaves and sprayed them down with plant soap, however, they are still there apparently. Is there anything else wrong with my plants looking at the leaves?

Hi @dancingshrubbery! I think the yellow spots are not related to bugs/pests. The dark & almost glossy foliage makes me think of a slight Nitrogen abuse for the last weeks, and as as result, the rootzone is having hard times trying to handle Phosphorous intakes. You must stop BioGrow as soon as the stretch has ended (~week2 of flowering stage), this explains why you're having some deficiencies. Flush your medium with plain pH'd water, and stick to BioBloom + TopMax in your next feedings. LaughingBuddha is one of the best weed I ever smoked in Amsterdam, you will have fun 😎 Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

This week I watered with nutrients (to ad very small degree) and water in between. The plants are yellowing in the bottom and I think it is almost time for harvest. We will have to investigate the flowers under a microscope.

I have watered interchangeably with nutrients and ph water through the week. I have also sprayed heavily with pyrethrin the last couple of days to combat the thrips. I fear that Cookies Kush might not survive the last two weeks before we can harvest on new years day.

We decided to harvest now as we were within the harvest window from Barney's description of the strain. The plant has suffered thrips doing the grow, and might have gotten smaller buds because of it. We are treating the buds to a bath of 0.05% hydrogen peroxide and half a lemon in 10 liters of water. We noticed a lot of thrips doing the wash, so hopefully this killed them off. Will update with weight, taste and effects... If thrips died, else it's a waste :(

Very nice harvest when counting in the pests (thrips) that hit the plant around 5-6 weeks before harvest. Could have been significantly worse. We did not water with pure water before the last 7 days, so the plants have a smell of ammonia from the nitrogen leftover in the plants. We now see the importance of yellowing leaves before a harvest, and this will probably result in a harsher smoke. Will update with numbers once the harvest has dried and cured.
