Germinated 2/2 seeds. Planted in soil on 12/19/2023. Soil composition is 60% FFOF as the base layer, 40% FFHF as the top layer with Mykos mixed in with entire medium.
Steady growth, but watering about a cup of rainwater every 3-4 days at 6.2-6.5pH.
Plants received their first compost tea just to give them a pick-me up on 12/31/2023. I saw a slight boost in overall size in 24 hrs. I mixed 1 tbsp of Recharge to 1 gal of 6.5pH distilled water and used about 1/4 gal split between them. Recently learned that plants containing the Iced N Baked strain are highly sensitive to nitrogen so I am currently trying to figure out what to feed them and when on their first feeding.
I ended up giving the plants their first feeding on Day 19. I used a top amending soil method using Gaia Green All Purpose 4-4-4. Since this was their first feeding and the Iced N Baked strain in these plants are notorious for being very sensitive to nitrogen, I did a small dosage on their feeding to play it safe and see how they reacted to it. Gaia Green AP 4-4-4 calls for 1 Tbsp per gallon of medium, I ended up doing a 1/4 tspn per gallon of medium. Once the nutrients were worked into the top soil I mixed up a half gallon of Recharge compost tea and split that between the two plants, which ended up being about two solo cups worth of tea each.
The next day the plants leaves seemed to be drooping just a little and not really lifting until near the end of the day's light cycle. However, the next morning the leaves were looking very perky and happy.
Forgot to take pictures for week 4, but late week 3/early week 4 saw the start of preflower. We are now in the stretch as these babies have really gotten taller in the past few days. I have started using Roots Organics CalMag and Buddha grow for week 3 and 4 since I added the Gaia Green AP 4-4-4 a little late. (My rookie mistake was not realizing that it takes a couple weeks for soil amendments to be turned into food for the plants.) Now I am just trying to play a little bit of catch up. However this week I will be amending the soil with Power Bloom, as well as feeding them Roots Organics Buddha Bloom for faster feeding.
The stretching was going all throughout Week 4 and into Week 5. One plant has reached 32" tall from where it sprouted and the other has reached 28" tall. Both plants are starting to show trichomes, the taller one more so. Feeding has been every other watering which I've found to be every 3-4 days. I'll be out of town starting on 02/03/2024 and coming back on 02/16/2024 and have asked my friend to stop in and water/feed when the plants need it. If everything goes well, I'm going to be excited to see how these girls have progressed in the 2 weeks I am gone.
