8set Mainline & 6/4set Manifold in Auto Pot - Selfie Seeds Sweet Slurry x Sugar Cane (6X4)
Starting a new grow
Shout out and an a HUGE Thank you to HowWeedGrow and Selfie Seeds for sending me these seeds and making this possible. I'll try my best to make it a good grow.
I dropped 2 of the 3 seeds I got in a glass of 6.4ph balanced purified water for 15hours and transferred to paper towel. Updates as they come.
details of this crossbreed...

Feminized Seeds
Indica/Sativa 45/55 Hybrid
Receiver (Mother):
Sweet Slurry
Indica/Sativa Hybrid
Lineage: (Dosidos X Purple Punch) x (Platinum x Slurricane)
Donor (Father):
Sugar Cane
Indica/Sativa Hybrid
Lineage: Platinum x Slurricane - Indica Sativa Hybrid
Reversed using STS on a clone of Strain 4 in the video below. Full reversal was documented in this journal.
The receiver(mother) was grown in soil using the HWGrow Soil Feed Schedule and the donor(father) was fed the HWGrow Hydro Feed Schedule. Actual data collected from the grows contributed to the final numbers in our feed schedules. The complete harvest on the seeds were documented on my journal on discord which could guide you if you grow this cross.
Goal of the Cross:
The photo with the buds shows what the final buds harvested from both parents look like after drying and curing(Sweet Slurry on left, Sugar Cane on right). This cross will produce a combination of both of the parents. Sweet Slurry is actually a backcross of Slurricane and Sugar Cane so this would be a 2nd generation Backcross which has the potential to improve frost. It's a crap shoot, but you could get lucky and it could happen. This will ultimately stabilize this cross into a strain and you really cant go wrong with frosty x frosty. This cross is the reverse of SHUGA.
***All feeds with nutes use either a whole ratio or combination of "Veg Mix" and "Bloom Mix"concentrates DILUTED in water until a total ppm of add-in is reached using a (Total Dissolved Solids) TDS Meter measured in PPM (parts per million). However, I add 1ml/gal of CaliMagic (General Hydroponics 1-0-0) to all feeds and ph after any add-ins. The "Veg Mix" concentrate will eventually be added in smaller ratios and "Bloom Mix" concentrate will eventually replace the "Veg Mix" concentrate entirely. The ppm and ratios of each feed will be listed when I feed. Veg mix recipe is on week 2. Bloom Mix recipe is on week 5.***
Week 2
I transferred the plants to 1 gallon pots and feed plain 4 cups of RO water 2 times this week. NOT the VEG recipe above.
No pics this week due to upload issues with site updates .. all better now, but this week was lost to time.
Week 3 - 1st topping for 8 set mainline - as the branches grew out I tied them down while pressing the end of my wire tie into the dirt. This is a weak tie down method that allows the branch to grow with small resistance so I have to adjust most daily over several days. I am looking for 3 nodes of new growth before topping again and I want the branches to grow away from each other to start separation of my bottom branches. Feed this week will consist .5 gallons of RO water with my first nute add-in of 100 ppm of Veg Juice Concentrate (recipe on week 2), along with .5ml of CalMag ph balanced to 6.3. I used 2 feeds at the same level this week.

Week 4 - transferred to 5 gal auto pot with 50/50 soil/perlite mix for root spread before putting in auto pot system base and turning on. Then at the end of the week I topped for a 2nd time. I cut back to the first node on each side even tho I waited until the 3rd node was starting to pull away from the second before I cut. This should allow time for a full recover from the last topping and help in recovery after this one. Im looking for 3 to 4 nodes of new growth before topping a third time and set 8 colas.
I top fed twice this week using .75 gallons of de-chlorinated tap with 300 ppm of Veg Mix Concentrate (see week 2 for recipe) and .75ml of CaliMag ph balanced to 6.4.

Week 5
At the beginning of the week I set up and tested auto-pot system for 2 plants using the same reservoir of feed water. All connections work fine with no leaks, the floats are free moving and work as intended, I have air pumping into the reservoir and all connections are good there as well. I used black tubing for the feed lines and placed towels over he reservoirs to block out light from the water in the system. After all checks were made, I placed the plants in the pots and turned the system on.
At the end of the week I had 3 new nodes of growth since the last topping, so I topped for the third time (4 cuts this week on the 4 set from last week and also removed the lowest). I now have 8 colas set.
Feed this week was 400ppm total before add-ins. I used 360ppm Veg concentrate mix (recipe week 2) and 40ppm Bloom concentrate mix (recipe above). However, I also added 1ml/gal of CaliMagic (General Hydroponics 1-0-0) to all feeds and ph balance this week was for 6.3.
Next week will consist of training the colas to go where I want them to. I plan to train 6 to the outer ring and 2 to the inner ring. Once I have enough new growth I will set the tomato rings and possibly start wire training. Feed will increase in total ppm and bloom mix and I plan to reduce ph to the 5.8 range slowly, so about 6.1 this week and 5.9 next before flip on week 9.
Week 6
At the beginning of the week I simply finger pressed the new node growth to begin separation and branch direction. 3 days after the last topping, I set up the tomato rings and attempted to tie down train the branches. In retrospect I should have given another day of growth before trying to tie to the new nodes. One plant made the LST training without issues(green tomato ring), however I snapped 2 center colas on the second plant(orange tomato ring). From experience I know that these will not produce tall colas since it happened so late in Veg, so I decided to completely remove them and will monitor for any new growth on those nodes to remove it. So now Im growing an 8set Mainline And a 6/4 set Manifold:
Mainline : is a planned topping and defoliation of every cola that makes all topped splits have roughly the same distance to the roots for water ways by removing all other growth along at the same point on any cola. Ideally this helps generate mostly equal buds along the whole cola after each topped split and then the whole plant without having to use scrog nets and just local support ties instead. In a Mainline you remove any other growth that would otherwise need those water ways to grow as well, so
Manifold: is the same thing as Mainline but in Manifold you leave a few branches to grow from a lower start point on any cola and then remove everything else. Ideally this gives mostly the same benefit as Mainline but if planned correctly allows you to be finished topping in just 2 separate topping days rather than 3 separate topping days. (I am using it here to correct this late veg mistake in my breaks)
The tie downs are positioning 6 of the colas to grow out flat until it can reach the outer bend of the tomato rings where I will allow them to stretch straight up in bloom. 2 cof the colas will have the lowest node of braches growing up in the middle for a total of 4 branches. However in the 8 cola plant I am also training 6 to the outer ring and 2 colas to grow up in the center of the ring.
Feed this week was again an auto pot reservoir feed at 400ppm total before add-ins. I used 360ppm Veg concentrate mix (recipe week 2) and 40ppm Bloom concentrate mix (recipe above). However, I also added 1ml/gal of CaliMagic (General Hydroponics 1-0-0) to all feeds and ph balance this week was for 6.3.
Next week will consist of more LST training with a simple move of the wires as needed. Feed will increase in total ppm and bloom mix and I plan to reduce ph to the 5.8 range slowly, so about 6.1 this week and 5.9 next before flip on week 9.
Week 7
Both plants took the training pretty well. I had to reposition the ties every other day and trained the branches to go out and under the lowest rings. They are bushy like this, but Im not too worried about that now as Im just setting the mainline base for flower positions and all this will be removed.
(I flush cleaned the reservoir and lines this week then fed) Feed this week was again an auto pot reservoir feed at 500ppm total before add-ins. I used 400ppm Veg concentrate mix (recipe week 2) and 100ppm Bloom concentrate mix (recipe week 5). However, I also added 1ml/gal of CaliMagic (General Hydroponics 1-0-0) to all feeds and ph balance this week was for 6.0 as I attempt to reduce it to 5.8 before flip. The idea here is to switch feeds to root feed hydroponic style and that means a lower ph.
Next week will prepare for flip and consist of more LST training with a simple move of the wires as needed. Feed will increase in total ppm and bloom mix and I plan to reduce ph to the 5.9 range this week and 5.9 next before flip on week 9.
Week 8 3/10 to 3/17
Final training week before flip. Im looking to have all of the colas touching the outer ring (except for the center colas and branches that I mean to have in the center) So mostly just letting them grow out at this point.
Feed this week was again an auto pot reservoir feed at 500ppm total before add-ins. I used 400ppm Veg concentrate mix (recipe week 2) and 100ppm Bloom concentrate mix (recipe week 5). However, I also added 1ml/gal of CaliMagic (General Hydroponics 1-0-0) to all feeds and ph balance this week was for 5.9 as I attempt to reduce it to 5.8 on flip week. The idea here is to switch feeds to root feed hydroponic style and that means a lower ph.
Next week will transfer over to the flower tent with a new reservoir. Feed will be 600ppm with 5.8ph.
Flower Week 0 Day 0 to 6 - 3/18 to 3/24
Flip Week. I used Flip - Day 1(63) Schwazze extreme defoliation and plan to do it again on flip day 21. This seems to encourage growth of the buds while allowing more airflow and training space in my grows. In which I used HST of he center colas of P1 and the center branches on P2
Feed this week was again an auto pot reservoir feed at 600ppm total before add-ins. I used 450ppm Veg concentrate mix (recipe week 2) and 150ppm Bloom concentrate mix (recipe week 5). However, I also added 1ml/gal of CaliMagic (General Hydroponics 1-0-0) and ph balance this week was for 5.8 where Io plan to maintain it until harvest. They should be mostly root feeding now and this should help with the uptake of nutes.
Next week nutes will increase in Bloom mix again but also reduce in Veg mix. Feed will be 650ppm before add-ins with 5.8ph before feeding. Training of stretch will also happen next week.
Flower Week 1 Day 7 to 13 - 3/25 to 3/31
Simply watching the stretch from this point. Both plants recovered very nicely from Schwazze extreme defoliation and all of the colas/branches are mostly even at top.
Feed this week was again an auto pot reservoir feed at 650ppm total before add-ins. I used 325ppm Veg concentrate mix (recipe week 2) and 325ppm Bloom concentrate mix (recipe week 5). However, I also added 1ml/gal of CaliMagic (General Hydroponics 1-0-0) and ph balance this week was for 5.8 where Io plan to maintain it until harvest.
Next week nutes will increase in Bloom mix again but also reduce in Veg mix. Feed will be 700ppm before add-ins with 5.8ph before feeding.
Flower Week 2 Day 14 to 20 - 4/1 to 4/7
Simply watching the stretch from this point. Defoliation is needed by day 20 (4/07) so I removed all but the top 1 or 2 fan leaf sets as well as a few of the lowest branches. The idea here being that I want to mostly lolipop the colas and allow more airflow/light into the center.
Feed this week was an auto pot reservoir feed now at 700ppm total before add-ins. I used 175ppm Veg concentrate mix (recipe week 2) and 525ppm Bloom concentrate mix (recipe week 5). However, I also added 1ml/gal of CaliMagic (General Hydroponics 1-0-0) and ph balance this week was for 5.8 where Io plan to maintain it until harvest.

Post defoliation
Next week nutes will increase in Bloom mix again but also eliminate Veg mix. Feed will again be 700ppm before add-ins with 5.8ph before feeding.
Flower Week 3 Day 21 to 27 - 4/8 to 4/14
I placed a spacer underneath both pots to increase PPFD. Mostly from this point on I am just watching and letting her grow. So far I believe this is my best grow ever. I really love the auto pot nute delivery system. They take what they want as they need it.
Feed this week was an auto pot reservoir feed now at 700ppm total before add-ins. I used 700ppm of Bloom concentrate mix (recipe week 5) and will no longer use the Veg mix concentrate. However, I also added 1ml/gal of CaliMagic (General Hydroponics 1-0-0) and ph balance this week was for 5.8 where Io plan to maintain it until harvest.
Next week nutes will decrease in Bloom mix again and depending on harvest signs. Feed will again be 700ppm before add-ins with 5.8ph before feeding.
Flower Week 4 Day 28 to 34 - 4/15 to 4/21
Seeing some purple on the leave and they are really pointing up now... They both look extremely healthy this week. I cant really say enough about the autopot system, the once a week effort is a game changer for me.
Feed this week was an auto pot reservoir feed now at 750ppm total before add-ins. I used 750ppm of Bloom concentrate mix (recipe week 5). However, I also added 1ml/gal of CaliMagic (General Hydroponics 1-0-0) and ph balance this week was for 5.8 where Io plan to maintain it until harvest.
Next week nutes will decrease in Bloom mix again. The signs of trichomes, pistols, and calyx are all about 3 weeks from harvest now, so feed will be 400ppm before add-ins for with 5.8ph before feeding.
Flower Week 5 Day 35 to 41 - 4/22 to 4/28
They both look extremely healthy this week. The calyx are swelling with maturing hairs, the pistols are orange, the trichomes are mostly white, and the leaves are fading/changing colors - still not ripe enough for me, but flushing with half nute feeds now.
Feed this week was an auto pot reservoir flush feed at 400ppm total before add-ins. I used 400ppm of Bloom concentrate mix (recipe week 5). However, I also added 1ml/gal of CaliMagic (General Hydroponics 1-0-0) and ph balance this week was for 5.8 where Io plan to maintain it until harvest.
Next week will continue the same half nute feed. I will continue to monitor the signs of trichomes, pistols, and calyx for a better harvest and allow the buds to mature more.
Flower Week 6 Day 42 to 48 - 4/29 to 5/5
They both look very healthy this week. The calyx are swelling with maturing hairs, the pistols are orange, the trichomes are mostly white, and the leaves are fading/changing colors - still not ripe enough for me, but flushing with half nute feeds now.
Feed this week was another auto pot reservoir flush feed at 400ppm total before add-ins. I used 400ppm of Bloom concentrate mix (recipe week 5). And then, I also added 1ml/gal of CaliMagic (General Hydroponics 1-0-0). PH balance this week was for 5.8 where I plan to maintain it until harvest.
Next week will continue the same half nute feed. I will continue to monitor the signs of trichomes, pistols, and calyx for a better harvest and allow the buds to mature more.
Flower Week 7 Day 49 to 55 - 5/6 to 5/12

Feed this week was another auto pot reservoir flush feed at 400ppm total before add-ins. I used 400ppm of Bloom concentrate mix (recipe week 5). And then, I also added 1ml/gal of CaliMagic (General Hydroponics 1-0-0). PH balance this week was for 5.8 where I plan to maintain it until harvest.
Next week will continue the same half nute feed. I will continue to monitor the signs of trichomes, pistols, and calyx for a better harvest and allow the buds to mature more.
Flower Week 8 Day 56 to 62 - 5/13 to 5/19
They both still look very healthy this week. The calyx are swelling with maturing hairs, the pistols are orange, the trichomes are mostly white, and the leaves are fading/changing colors - they seem good enough to begin a dryout next week.
Next week will start a dryout process before harvest.
Flower Week 9 Day 69 to 71 - 5/20 to 5/22
After a few extra days of dryout I chopped. I decided to wet trim while still on the stems.
Lots of rain lately, and the drying process was a challenge but I overcame with fans around the hangers and more dry time. I dried until I could snap a test branch. Then I trimmed off the buds and placed in humidity controlled bags with hydrometers.
