Happy New Year all!!
I haven’t put any grows on here lately due mostly to laziness but decided to log this years grow skipping all the early boring bits.
This year I’ve got good variety. A few stumbles early and serious storms around here, but I’ve got them through veg ok.
Chiesel was a slow starter, but is really healthy now. An odd shape due to growths appearing in unusual spots.
Chunk is perfect. So healthy and grows itself into perfect shape with big fans that don’t block anything!
Jack is great but started slow until I worked out it wanted twice the feed of the others for some reason.
Glue is a beast. I would have liked it a bit taller but it’s already bolted. It need very heavy defol approx 10 leaves a day average!
Couple of cool autos only a few weeks away.
This year I have made a soil with a locally sourced compost called Morpheus from Red Soil Organics in Gympie.
I won’t be pissing around with living soil anymore as this stuff is just lush and seems to hang in for the duration of the grow.
All in all going very well and decent size or a 100% organic grow
Week 12
The plants took off.
Gorilla is mid to late flower and stacking up. The shaping has paid off and it’s powering.
Jack is perfect. Can’t wait to see it fully loaded.
Chunk is a big bopper and still going. Nice strong branches. Drinks over 4l a day!
Cheisel is going along well enough but getting outdone by the rest.
Little auto is chopped already, harvest later on.
It’s been like a greenhouse for weeks now with over 60% humidity day and night.
Great for the plants but uncomfortable for me.
Gorilla will be about done next update
Happy AUSTRALIA DAY growers
Week 15
Mostly good news I suppose, with the exception of the discovery of a good whack of bud rot in my GG4.
It’s hard to avoid given the persistent humidity. Even though this week was a touch better, the damage was done.
I lost the top half of 2 buds on my glue to rot. It was lucky it wasn’t more as there were no signs from the outside of the buds.
Just a chance close inspection revealed an irretrievable onset in one bud. This sparked a frenzy of checking the whole plant.
Lucky to have contained it to only two buds I hope. Glue is just so tight and sticky it lends itself to these problems I suppose.
The rest are all good
Jack is steaming, and putting on bulk. Smells the best of the lot.
Chiesel is just OK for now, not real petty but you never know.
Chunk is a massive unit. Almost a 6 footer. It’s shaping up to be a weapon. Nice tough branches
Hoping to stave off the rot over coming weeks. Cheers mateys cheers
Not that good
Just under an Oz which isn’t bad outside, (12 weeks)
But it’s straight up and down and pretty plain looking
Pink Grapefruit,, 🤔 not sure about that but not the worst
What a pretty plant it is
Really long thick heads all over, a visual stunner.
Needs training early to get there, but then it’s hassle free.
Buds are so fat and tight, which unfortunately leaves it prone to moulding in my humid climate.
Lost a bit to mould and had to chop a touch early too, in the end just over 7.5 Oz dry and trimmed.
Smoke is so smooth and the stone is long and strong.
Almost perfect. The taste is nice, but not anything to rave on about
Good though
Really good shit
Definitely a top notch stone.
Really strong, but so clear too. Doesn’t take the wind out of you and not chesty at all.
Great smoke. Taste is just OK though.
Visually such a great looking plant with a bit of topping.
Finishes nice and quick, but mould is an issue in final weeks due to how tonight the buds are.
Week 17
Plants are kicking ass at the moment.
Although the humidity has settled, the heat is still there.
This chunk drinks 6l of water every day!! It’s killing me on nutrients!
But they love it. Jack will be out next, smells like the best one of the lot
For me Chiesel was good but not spectacular
6 1/2 oz cut and dry in the end. It has a unique taste and smell which is nice but hard to describe.
Not the strongest but it has its place.
In the grow I had a bit of rot and quite a few grubs in the end, but didn’t lose too much thankfully.
After a big night of rain she snapped and folded over, not quite as sturdy as the others
If anyone out there has had any better experiences with big buddha seeds let me know
It was good to give this one a go.
Chiesel gave me a good yield and a nice mellow smoke.
Not the strongest but ideal for certain occasions.
A few issues in the grow, she’s not the most resilient outside
Also I could only get 2 out of 5 growing.
It’s parent is a Soma NYC Diesel and I was probably hoping for a cheaper way of getting a taste of it, but it didn’t work like that!
There’s nothing not to love about Jack
No dramas in the grow at all. 2 for 2 seeds, no rot , no bugs, no problems with weather.
Smelled great through the grow and that same great smell translated into the end product.
A huge 9 and a bit ounce result plus 16 grams of good trim was my best this year.
Huge rods of buds in the grow were still huge when fully dry. So satisfying.
Beautiful smoke too. These classic Dutch strains are right in my sweet spot
Bravo 👏🏼
For an oldish fellow like me Jack is just spot on.
It has a real polish to it.
Perfect in the grow outside too, I can’t think of a single problem in 18 weeks.
Jack will be back in the garden for years to come
An awesome result of 9 and a half ounces cut and dry in the end.
This capped off my best season ever with 2 pounds yielded from 4 plants.
Chunk was perfect from start to finish. I finally got that tang I was looking for.
Chunk is ideal for outdoor growing in my area. 10 out of 10
That’s it for another year.
A massive season this time so I’m off to hibernate with my weed.
Take care mates. See you all again around October for another round.
Best of luck with all your grows everyone cheers
@Grey_Wolf, crazy hey
It’s been a strange year. All my mandarines, lemons and limes started flowering in august after unseasonal warmth, then they stopped and didn’t produce any fruits this season!
I’ve got gorilla ready now, Jack in a month and the others even further away. Very strange indeed,
might be the heat here ? its going to be above 44 from now until atleast next wed according to the weather app on my phone 😏
apparently tuesday next week could go 47+ again 😥
I would love another pack of pineapple chunk for next summer its a great smoke 👌
Beau travail, vous avez quelques monstres. Je ne sais pas dans quel pays vous êtes pour qu il y ai encore suffisamment de soleil et pas trop d humidité et de froid pour continuer la culture en extérieur mais ça a l'air de réussir. 👏👏☮️
