I'm really excited to start this strain from Royal Queen Seeds. Not much to report this first week. I'm using Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil, so there's no need for nutrients for the next couple of weeks. Let's get rolling!!!
Another week in the books and she is starting to thrive. Growth is really starting to take off and she seems very healthy. She's still on water only without any nutrients yet. I noticed my water's PH has increased lately and is at about 6.9 these days, so I've had to bring it down to 6.0 for each watering. I have another plant where the bottom fan leaves twisted, which is either due to the PH being too high or simply a genetic defect. Either way, the high PH wasn't helping, so I was able to fix this possible issue and hopefully prevent twisting of the leaves in this North Thunderfuck plant.
Aside from the water, I'm leaving it alone and letting it grow. Things will get more interesting in the next couple of weeks.
Three weeks in the books and she's coming along very nicely. I started LST on day 17 and also started a very light defoliation, to allow light penetration.
I'm just going to let it ride into the flowering stage and take it from there!
We're at the 4-week mark and have begun the flowering stage. I did use vegetative nutrients this past week to help with the recovery after defoliating. I opened the plant up and it's basic skeletal structure is sound and ready for flowering. I did mess up this week but was extremely lucky. If you notice in the pics, there's tape wrapped around the main stem just under halfway up. I had been LST'ing and my bending clip had come off. Being the genius I am, I immediately tried to re-bend it back and the stem snapped in half. It was barely hanging on by a thread and I threw the tape on immediately. Fortunately the strong autoflower genetics allowed it to heal up quickly and developed a solid knuckle where the break had occurred. As you can also see in the picture, it didn't slow it down much and it has fully recovered.
Aside from the defoliation, I've left her alone and will continue to let it grow as it wants. I'll probably be starting with the flowering nutrients this week. Aside from the bump in the road this week, she's been growing like a champ and I'm excited to start the flowering stage. Until next week......
This North Thunderfuck strain really stretched out this past week. She added another 10" and is now standing at 27" tall. The colas are forming nicely and I've begun feeding her flowering nutrients. I'm lightly defoliating and am expecting her to start gaining some weight this week. She seems extremely healthy and has a nice even, green color. That's about it for the week.
This plant is thriving and continues to put on weight. It seems to have reached its maximum height as it only grew 2 inches this past week, so I'm working on fattening her up and feeding those growing buds. I'm using Botanicare Pro Bloom nutrients, which the plant seems to really like. I'm simply defoliating every few days to open up the plant to more light and air circulation, but otherwise leaving her alone. I'm heading out of town this week so everything will be on autopilot. Thanks for checking out my diary!
This North Thunderfuck strain is really coming along nicely. It stretched quite a bit and the buds are now putting on some weight. The stems aren't very thick and some are starting to bend from the weight. There aren't a lot of leaves and the maintenance of this plant has been very easy. I'm barely defoliating and have been able to keep this on autopilot for most of the grow. I'm continuing to feed her the Botanicare Pro Bloom, and allowing her to do her thing. Hopefully over the next few weeks the buds will continue to pack on weight.
It's at the 8 week mark and she continues to put on weight. The buds are filling up nicely and are getting an amber hint to them. The smell is amazing and it looks like she may only have another 2-3 weeks before harvest. I'm feeding her nutrients most days with occasional days of just water to give it a mini flush to remove any salts built up in the soil. Otherwise she's coming along really nicely!
This plant has progressed much faster than I anticipated. The trichomes are already turning cloudy and I'm planning on flushing and harvesting later this week. It's a very stretchy plant with dense buds scattered throughout. This was a very fast grow and I'm eager to see what they scale says after harvesting. This has been a very easy grow with minimal maintenance.
It's day 70 with this North Thunderfuck plant and it's time for harvest! I watered it yesterday for the last time after a week of flushing and she's gone into the dark for the next 48 hours before harvesting this upcoming week. This plant grew fast and the buds are ripe for picking.
This North Thunderfuck plant was harvested on day 72, after 48 hours without water or light. This plant stretched a lot and the wet trim was extremely easy and quick. There were very few leaves to buds. After the 48 hours of darkness I harvested and placed into the drying shelves. These only took 72 hours to dry and are now sitting in jars curing with a Boveda packet. I'll make the final diary entry in about a month after curing, when I can get the final weight and give it the smoke test. Overall this plant was very easy and fast to grow.
Until next month........
I really enjoyed growing this strain. It's definitely got sativa genes and stretched quite a bit during its growth. The buds came out really nice with a very cool light green tone.
I dried the buds for a week before throwing them in a jar to cure. They've been curing for 5 weeks now and are ready to review. The buds came out with a really nice light green tone. The total dry weight came in at 99.55 grams.
