I am starting my flush tomorrow and plan on flushing for a week or so. Could they go longer? Maybe, but I have other little experiments I would like to try ๐ท๐
Hey bud. Don't get discouraged. Cannabis pack on a huge percentage of their weight in the last few weeks of life. Let her go until your max cloudy/amber point and cut her down but don't go early.
That leads to my next point. This is an opinion and unfortunately there has not been a definitive answer yet as to whether or not flushing really "flushes" nutrients and build up out of the FLOWER which is the part you are smoking unless you are a lazy trimmer. The components that are moved into the flower during development are there permanently, and by permanently I mean they are in there no matter how long you flush. People will tell you hat it makes for a smoother smoke but the only thing it does for sure is bring some of the mobile nutrients in the stalks and root zone out which is useful to a certain extent. Remember how I told you they put on a lot of weight in the last 2-3 weeks of flower? Well I just don't think it can do any good for the plant to be starved for 2 weeks in its most crucial stage of life. I always do a 3 day flush. I have done a 14 day flush and a 3 day flush and there is really no difference in my opinion. It is the decarboxylation of the curing process that removes the chlorophyll and other trace elements that leads to a smoother smoke. The slower you can accomplish that task the more chlorophyll is allowed to leave the flower before it becomes immobile and the smoother your smoke will be.
Those are my two cents. Take them with a grain of salt and always go with what you feel or what you know. That's my favorite part of this hobby, I grow so that I can grow exactly how things work for me. Best of luck.
This is a very strong , powerful smoke , you are doing fine , colours are nice , the flowers probably won't start for two more weeks , but you will not be dissapointed ๐
